I believe the oysters I had were the le bon cochon. They had boudin and a tangy spicy sauce that was outlandishly good!! The oysters weren't big today, but the flavor was great and there was no grit. I ordered a half dozen and then another half dozen. I cannot wait to get these again! We also enjoyed the seafood combo with fried alligator and shrimp. The spicy waffle fries were pure gold and fresh. I asked for ranch sauce which makes everything better always. The Cadillac Margarita was also great. We were passing through and asked the locals where the best place in town might be. The answer was of course Uncle T's. My wife and I shared some charbroiled oysters that were delicious. We all shared scratch made onion rings and boudin egg rolls. I would have never imagined an appetizer like boudin egg rolls, but they were amazing and you have to try them for yourself. Awesome chargrilled oysters and the oyster poboy was to die for! We will definitely eat here again.

We decided to have lunch here today. We were disappointed, no boiled crawfish at lunch time but that seems to be typical of some places. The fried pickles were super good we got the fried shrimp basket and it was pretty good. The hush puppies that came with it had a real good flavor. Great atmosphere with my favorite combination of great food, casual atmosphere with an attentive wait staff. Loved our Cajun waitress! Oysters weren't as big as we would have liked, but very tasty. We had a dozen each of raw and chargrilled. Plenty of cheese and spices with the chargrilled order. Po-Boys were good size and, most importantly, fresh. We loved this place. After being turned away at one place because of no reservation, we lucked out to get a high table on a very busy Saturday afternoon. The servers were great and the place didn't have the feel of so many places that are understaffed. My hubby ordered a dozen oysters and they were great-really fresh. We split the large onion rings and should have ordered a small order because it was way too much for us. I got a specialty poboy, The Landry, and the fried oysters, shrimp and crawfish were excellent and it was too much to eat even though I got the small size. I ordered a Bloody Mary and they gave me a special one with lots of stuff-boiled shrimp, pickled green beans, olives and okra. It was okay but we didn't care for the smoke flavor in it. I squeezed lime in it and that helped. Overall a really good experience with quite a few lively characters dining there that kept us entertained. read more

We are staying in Lafayette and the lady at the front desk recommended. We were not dissapointed. Jade was our waitress and she very helpful with suggestions. We ordered the Muffaletta Cheese Bread got half with the olives (like it comes) and the other half with Oysters Firecracker... it was so good! The wife was in the mood for shrimp so she got the boiled shrimp and added corn and sausage. She said it was delicious! I got the Swamp Thing Po' Boy with onion rings suggested by Jade, it was amazing! The atmosphere is nice it was busy, but we didn't have to wait that long. Good place to grab a tasty meal if you're in the area. Everything is done in a Cajun fashion. which is a good thing. There's a patio out front so you can bring the pooch, but its next to a busy road so it tends to be noisy with a lot of activity. We had the Muffuletta bread and it was excellent. In the three years that I have traveled to Scott and ate at Uncle T's I would be the first to say by far they have the best charbroiled oysters I have ever had. Even better than Acme in New Orleans. I don't know what happened this year but they were the worse I have ever had. I heard from a local the oyster season hasn't been good this year, but that to me is no reason to serve anything other than what you are known for. I understand oyster shells are recycled and oysters in a jar are used instead. So unfortunate because my next trip to Scott I will not try Uncle Y's because of this experience. read more

We stopped here for lunch on Wednesday, mainly because of the high ratings on Yelp, and were not disappointed! My wife had a BLT on Texas Toast, which she said was very good, while I had their Landry PoBoy, which has shrimp, crawfish, and oysters.
