    Samah I.

Okay so I've been here more times than can count over the last few years and though I am an absolute fan of some of the food (hence my continued return) this is no go out of your way kind of place. It's super local only kinda spot (I'm not local so it is definitely outta my way to get to and I don't know if I'd recommend that to anyone else). So some positives. The fish is excellent. Super crispy, juicy, soft. BUT sometimes the batter can be super chewy/crunchy indicating it's not fresh and that's kind of hard to predict which is a problem. Sometimes there's legit no fish in the batter and the prices are by piece so you legit end up one piece of fish short (or multiple because if there's one offender there's plenty more). I gotta say the fish is flavorless but it's still really good?! I don't know what it is about these fries but I love them. They're not by any means "good fries" like they'll sit leaden in your stomach but I still enjoy them. The uncle's sauce is awesome. It's probably legit ketchup and Mayo but there's just SOMETHING else in there that makes it standout. Delivery is really great. I ordered twice now and food came super quick and still warm. Everything is hand slaughtered but the quality of the meat isn't A1 or anything which no one should expect lol. Unfortunately the register is always kinda clueless and all over the place which makes for a lot of backup in picking up your order or making an order on the spot. Highly recommend you just order over the phone for pick up. It takes them twenty minutes to make the food. The chicken sandwiches over the years have been all over the place. At one point it was breast, another thigh, another point there were bones. Now I think there's two or three types. Anyways even though this place is called uncle's friend chicken, I would skip the chicken because of the inconsistency. Also it's only leg and thigh. No wings. Anyways this place is a guilty pleasure for special occasions and I will be back lol.

This is the go to chicken spot for all your chicken needs. The hot wings is amazing, one of the best you'll find. The fried chicken is good. The chili chicken is really good.

    Zinger burger. Really good!!

Food is not bad. Tried the chicken cheesesteak it was pretty good. But their chicken burger is my favorite. It's ground chicken, and very good. They have pizza for $1.00, not bad it's similar to 7-11 pizza but better. One thing about this place......it is extremely CLEAN! They kept it very well. People are nice behind the counter. Update: their zinger burger is very good. That's my new favorite here. Must try.

3.5 stars Not located in the best part of Jamaica area, (there are some nice parts) looks a bit drabby, I would not walk around there at night. Anyway we were around the area in the afternoon, so I thought we'd get a few things to try since it had a perfect rating at the time...I didn't try their fried chicken, (I should've) but if I'm ever in the area again I might. We got a medium fish bucket and a chicken gyro over rice to go. It's a very conservative place...being that it is Muslim owned. There were 4 booths and 3 were occupied by either friends or family of the owner. Everyone was dressed in traditional clothing except for the few junior high/high school kids that came in after us. We were the only non-Muslims in there. The fried fish is lightly battered, not very crispy, but lots of fish. It's a generous portion, but it could've used a lil seasoning. I would've liked it if it were fried a bit more with just a bit more batter cuz the fried fish kinda breaks apart when you lift it up. The secret sauce is definitely for the fish and they give plenty of it. It's like a thousand island, mayo, garlic mix? The fish is somewhat plain without the sauce, but I kinda got tired of the sauce after a while. L really liked the chicken gyro over basmati rice, but they didnt have their own hot sauce, it came in a packet which is a huge let down. We love a good hot sauce, and using a packet is not an option. Im not a fan of Kennedy Fried Chicken, or any fast food fried chicken franchise, so I really should've tried the fried chicken from this place; I've also never had a freshly slaughtered chicken. It is really out of the way for us so I doubt I'll return.

Its hard to find 100% guaranteed halal zabihah hand slaughtered chicken anywhere, especially at a low priced & clean fried chicken establishment. I've had their fried chicken, wings, fried fish & chicken gyro platter, all were delicious. My favorite being the gyro platter. If you're getting the fried chicken and fish make sure to grab extra uncles sauce, its like amped up thousand island dressing with a kick. Overall a great place, I've become a regular and recommend it.

    Look! Leg?

Ridiculous Customer Service Food Quality went drastically down! This people are Rude and I ordered two pieces of chicken I got a bad leg dried thigh no taste at all.

5 stars for this being 100% Zabihah and for their Fried Fish Strips with their "Secret Sauce"! I had the fried fish and fried chicken a few times. Chicken was crunchy and juicy which I prefer. Thankfully every piece I've had so far from Uncle's hasn't been over breaded to have a crunch to it. The fries are average/good. But the menu item I CRAVE and can't get enough of is surprisingly the fried fish strips.. I tried them when someone else ordered them and I've been getting the fried fish for myself since. Its not just the fish strips but the "secret sauce" that goes with them that is delicious. I think the sauce is suppose to go with chicken as well but I don't think that's needed. However the fish strips and secret sauce combo are SO GOOD. I could eat them a few times a week and be a happy person. I haven't tried other items yet but was told the chicken gyro is really good!

Areas of improvement - don't bring out the main dish first and the appetizer next. It's senseless. There was a party of 11 that came in. The workers really catered to them and left the single diners to themselves but still expect a regulated tip. I had one napkin the entire time and no one ever came over to see if I needed anything. The sandwich was good overall, crispy and light flavor, quiet mild in taste actually. The patty was thin but was thick in some parts. I felt like the chicken was good quality. The lettuce, tomato and onion were fresh and brightened the sandwich. The onion rings were too crispy and had no onion in them. They were mostly round shells. They offered to change them for something else but I declined. My main concern is how food is being handled. Most employees had gloves on but were touching all the surfaces with the gloves on and then handling food. All employees were struggling with the order screen and kept touching the screen and then handling the food. I understand that kitchens get busy but there should be better training for using the order system and a better way for them to communicate the orders. Orders were taking longer than expected despite a small crowd. Customer service is friendly. This place is decent but needs some refinement. One smaller detail they can upgrade the brand of condiments they are using.

Service was essentially fast food tier which was OK but it is better than that of a typical fast food joint so I won't hammer too hard on them with that. The food is solid though. The Cheeseburger, albeit a tad greasy was a delight on the taste buds. It was beef certainly done proper. The mozzy sticks were nicely breaded and crisp with the right amount of cheese pull. One thing that makes them stand out is that they offer both Mediterranean and Mexican food, but as two separate menus instead of fusion. We both ordered from the halal Mediterranean side. Not pictured was my lamb gyro platter with rice, lettuce, tomato, white sauce, and hot sauce. The sauces were really good and the meat itself was flavorful and hot, although mine wasn't fresh off the flat top since I got the last batch from under the heat lamp. The platter also came with a small serving of curly fries, which is unexpected and not "traditional"but a unique twist. My brother got the lamb gyro and their "messy fries". We also shared the banana pudding. His gyro was fresh off the grill and he said it was great. Food overall was really good. Seating inside is limited and pretty cramped, so we ended up taking it back to the hotel. The tables were clean and the staff was friendly. Only small complaint is they should either ask if customers need utensils before leaving or have them easily available since having to go back disrupts the flow a bit when it's busy. Overall, I give this place a solid 4 stars. If all the proteins were consistently served fresh, I probably would've given it 5 stars.
