I have been to the location in Bronx and couldn't wait to try this location. When I arrived I found parking on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted. Wow! I was surprised when I saw a sign outside that said $2.99 for chicken or lamb over rice. I walked inside and it was actually that price. $3.25 if you include tax. The price is unbeatable. It's not a huge plate, but it's enough for a quick meal. If you get two for $7.50, it can easily fill you up. I would say it's about half of the size of what you get in the regular $9 order, but not bad for a fast, cheap meal. The spot seemed to be popular with people coming in and out a lot. The flavor of the food was good, tastes like any other halal food cart. They did include a couple of random French fries, which I'm assuming was intentional... but I could've done without them. They didn't seem to add anything to the dish. I would suggest a little more meat, but again, what do you expect from a $3 plate?! Overall, it was good in a jiffy. I was really excited when I saw a halal chicken store was opening in elmhurst right by my parents house. When this restaurant first opened their food was amazing, I love chicken sandwiches so I ordered a spicy crispy chicken sandwich. It was so good, the chicken was fresh, fried well and tasted like delicious hot chicken. The next couple of times I went I ordered the same spicy crispy chicken sandwich and fries and I got a chicken sandwich with the frozen chicken pattys you can find at grocery freezer sections, not good. The fries tasted like they were fried in old oil. I ordered fried chicken for my kids which was ok. Customer service here sucks as well. When I go in they don't acknowledge, I've waited 20 mins before I was even greeted and there were no other customers. I don't plan to come back. read more

Tl;dr version: subpar chicken, good fries, expensive halal food Came here witha friend wanting to try this location out, seeing as it had replaced another fries chicken place that went belly up. We collectively ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, 3 piece combo, and 6 buffalo wings. The spicy chicken sandwich was very disappointing. The patty was a meat slurry patty instead of a whole piece of chicken breast. The bread was toasted, but fell apart while I was eating the sandwich. And lastly, the sauce was tangy and not spicy at all. I feel bad for saying this, but I honestly think the mcdonalds chicken sandwich is better. The fried chicken breading was bland and needed a lot of seasoning. We couldn't eat it without slathering it in ketchup and honey mustard. Despite the lack of flavor, the breading was very crispy and the meat inside was still juicy. So this chicken wasn't completely inedible. The fries it came with were pretty good, comparable to the mcdonalds variety. The biscuits were average and tasted like the store-bought pillsbury type. Not great but not terrible. We didn't try the halal cart food (lamb/chicken over rice) but the pricepoint of $8.50 seemed high. Especially when there's a halal cart that sells it for cheaper a few blocks away in front of the stop n shop. I recently discovered this spot. I had the Chicken over Rice Platter, Fried Chicken with Fries, and Castle Burger Combo. All the platters are served with your choice of protein over brown basmati with choice of salad (various toppings). The quality of food is good - they are not cheap with their meat, if you mix well, you'll get rice, meat, and salad in every bite. You can choose which sauce you'd like, I drenched my platter with white sauce and hot sauce. The chicken was crispy and not greasy. The burger was tasty, even though the patty was thin but the bun was really fresh and soft. Really friendly staff and the service was pretty quick. Everyone wore masks (including every customer that entered), proper distancing was maintained, and they provide hand sanitizers. Castle is a great addition to the neighborhood. read more

Started off good, but now a disappointment. When I came to this place late last year (2020), I thought the chicken was good and the price ($9.99/10pc) was a good deal. However, I can't say the same now after going to this place 4 times in the last 4 weeks. The experience went progressively bad. The price went up to $10.99/10 pc, which is fine, but now it's listed for "legs, thighs, and wings" only. So, you will not get any breast pieces anymore. However, sometimes they must run short on one type of piece and you get substituted other pieces. SO, I had orders where there were 5 tiny wings. 5 wings out of a box of 10 pieces. C'mon now. Today, I got 7 drumsticks. This is ridiculous. Unfortunately I didn't find out until I got home otherwise I think this is something they should tell you ahead of time before putting your box together. 7 drumsticks and 3 other pieces that appear to be a small cut out portion of what appears to be a cut up breast piece. Anyway, I find this really unacceptable and a bit deceptive. They occasionally put a street sign that says they have a "special" for 10 pieces of chicken for $10.99, which makes little sense when that is the regular price. The large fries for $4.50 also shrunk in size to half of what it used to be. All this happening in a span of 3 weeks makes me think that either I caught it at a bad time, or they are just not really caring much about customer service by allowing the their orders to be sold like this arbitrarily. I will say that the chicken itself tastes good, and I don't have a problem with that. But the pieces have gotten so small from just 3 weeks ago to today - and I don't even have a thigh or a breast piece to compare - the enjoyment of this is severely lacking. Unfortunately I can't recommend this place anymore for fried chicken. I only tried the fried chicken here. It's just okay. It's pretty plain. Simple seasoning...if you want more flavor, I'd suggest you get your fried chicken somewhere else.
