Mix Combo Over Rice Platter-with hummus
    Catherine Y.

I haven't reviewed in a while, but I have ordered several times since. The food is just not as good as it was before. Sometimes the meat is too salty and I don't think the hummus is homemade anymore. They also give a lot less meat than they used to. The bright side is the white and green sauces still taste just as good and their fries are always crispy.

    Falafel over rice platter

I would give this dish zero stars if I could. Falafel over rice. Brought it home and as soon as I opened the container I could smell the burnt to a crisp falafel balls. I can't believe they had the audacity to serve this toasted garbage! I had to throw it away which they should have done at the shop.

Order delivery from Uber Eats. Food came earlier than expected. First time trying the wings, fish, and chicken tenders. Wings were crunchy and so, so flavorful.. the sauce was on point! The fish was okay, missing the tartare sauce. Chicken tenders were delicious and juicy. I usually get the gyro or combo plates, but this was worth trying.

Chicken over Rice Platter w/ fries

Decided to order from here via Ubereats a few days ago because i did not feel like cooking. Also, I haven't had Halal food in ages. I got the Chicken over Rice Platter with fries and it was sooo good! Everything was fresh and tasty including the salad. Portions were excellent, fries were perfectly crisp, chicken was tender, the rice pilaf (which I'm not usually a fan of) was enjoyable as well. They followed my special instructions and added ONLY the sauces that I requested to my food. Also gave me some on the side per my request at no extra charge! Must have sauces are the green, white and hot sauce! Next time i'll try the mixed combo (lamb and chicken) This place rocks!

    Super delicious & fresh !!

Yes, another good Halal Halal spot !!! 5 stars was only based on my Lamb over salad !! This is fairly a new Halal spot maybe a year old or so.... we use to come here way back but then stoped because the old owners let it go ......... Glad we stopped in again; the restaurant is very clean; the grillman was on point I like my lamb a Lil crispy so he put it on the grill to crisp it up .... Made me an awesome salad with the works and then topped it with plenty of lamb & of course their Halal Halal white sauce & a streak of their hot sauce ... The owner is very friendly as well as polite & accumulating .... Will definitely be back again !!! Everything was super fresh & delicious !!! Very nice selection on their salad bar as far as toppings !! Also saw a lot of cake deserts pre sliced & ready to go ... should have tool a picture ... next time !! Thanks, Greg D.

Mixed combo over rice platter (w/ fries)

"Over rice" joints are a dime a dozen in Queens. Halal munchies manages to stand out above most of them due to their unique preparation, a cilantro based sauce and friendly service. I found them to be tastier than the regular offerings we normal go to. As expected, there were leftovers and the food tasted much better the next day after it had marinated overnight. I'm not the biggest fan of fries on top of the food for takeout. By the time you eat, they are pretty soggy and sad looking. But I'm sure it's different on the spot. Overall, a welcome addition in this area!

I definitely enjoyed getting my Vietnamese meals from here, especially because it was one of the few places that was Halal. I loved their banh mi , but I especially loved their beef pho. I never physically went to the store, but I always did delivery; The pho would come to me fresh. I also liked their Vietnamese fried wings as well. I heard the owner is looking to find a new spot so if he's reading, I have a recommendation for them which is to come open in Jackson Heights as there is such a demand here for Halal Vietnamese cuisine!

The pho was decent and filling. The wings were average just seemed undercooked. Pro tip. If you want starters/apps, order them first. After you've finished, revisit the menu and order your main dish. Areas of improvement - don't bring out the main dish first and the appetizer next. It's senseless. There was a party of 11 that came in. The workers really catered to them and left the single diners to themselves but still expect a regulated tip. I had one napkin the entire time and no one ever came over to see if I needed anything. I came, I dined, I left. I won't be back. Also my pho was getting cold as I tried to navigate between the two. Inspire more, Yelp more!

When we arrived, they said they hadn't received the order, citing an issue with their system. They told us it would take about 15 minutes. Unfortunately it really took about 35 minutes for the food to be ready. The wait time was definitely underwhelming. However they made up for it by giving us a free slice of tiramisu cake. When we got home, we were both surprised by just how much gnocchi they give. We both ordered the Senza Vodka. Other than the red pepper flakes on top, the sauce was really flavorless. I did like the gnocchi itself. The side Caesar salad was also very bland. My wife really enjoyed the food, so they made it worth it. But I tnink she'll have to order from here on her own moving forward, .

Cacio e pepe with meatballs- rich, creamy, not salty as I feared based on some other reviews. Decent depth of flavor, ricotta was cool as the other elements were warm to hot, providing some temperature play. Meatballs were flavorful, but one of them seemed a bit overdone/dry. Senzu vodka with shrimp - spicy, salty, still creamy, obviously. Shrimp was a bit on the saltier side. A more straightforward flavor, I guess? Gnocchi itself - fell apart in the mouth, not very chewy like the mass-produced stuff. Haven't had much of it, but the last gnocchi I had was from Crown Shy so it feels pretty unfair to compare. I wasn't totally wowed by the texture. I'm not entirely sure what Gnocchi is supposed to taste like. Overall, it was decent. I'm not chomping at the bit to go back, but I'm not against it. It's just that in a crowded street of heavy-hitting spots to eat, I'm not sure how well this competes with them. I feel a little guilty giving this a 3. There's quite a bit to like. For one, despite looking small, the gnocchi is rich and heavy and I actually didn't feel the urge to finish all of it because of how sated I was. If you want to fill yourself on some gnocchi (you don't even need the protein, honestly) this is a great place to do so. The presentation is as good as it could be given its limitations of being in a plastic bowl. That said, my mom and brother really loved this, so we'll be heading back again.

I went during Ramadan with my partner to break my fast, and they were so accommodating. Tip: call them to make a quick reservation beforehand. Next, onto the food. We ordered the dumplings, lamb stew with naan, and their special noodles. Everything was absolutely mind blowing. The lamb was perfectly seasoned and fell right off the bone. The bread was soaked in flavor. The noodles are perfect for a cold night. The noodles are mixed in house and fresh, and you can definitely taste the difference in fresh noodles and store brought. Cafe Kashkar in Brighton Beach, Nargis Cafe in Sheepshead Bay, this is the dish that keeps on giving. Until eating here. I will just keep this one all to myself. Everything here is right, on top of right, on top of right, on top of right. Friendly, fast, and efficient service. A pretty ambiance that does not hit you over the head with a walking stick, and some of the best Lagman I have eaten this side of the East River. These folks know what they are doing. To come here and not order some naan is a huge insult, so I did that. Even that is done properly. The naan is light and full of flavor. It needs no oil or anything to spruce it up. Enjoy it for what it is. The Lagman hits all the right notes, checking every box that Lagman needs to have. Ample and flavorful meat? Check. Fresh hand pulled noodles that are also ample? Check. Crispy, sautéed vegetables? Check. About a quarter of the way through my meal, one of the owners came up to me and offered me chili oil to put in the dish. I obliged as I learned from Cafe Kashkar the importance of adding flavor to this dish. It really does elevate everything on the plate and brings all those flavors that are already on the plate, forward. Everything is rather affordable as well. Before the New York Times finds out about this little hole in the wall and blows this restaurant's cover, I will close this review by simply stating this restaurant is a winner, without all the aforementioned accolades.
