Mix Combo Over Rice Platter-with hummus
    Catherine Y.

I haven't reviewed in a while, but I have ordered several times since. The food is just not as good as it was before. Sometimes the meat is too salty and I don't think the hummus is homemade anymore. They also give a lot less meat than they used to. The bright side is the white and green sauces still taste just as good and their fries are always crispy.

    Falafel over rice platter

I would give this dish zero stars if I could. Falafel over rice. Brought it home and as soon as I opened the container I could smell the burnt to a crisp falafel balls. I can't believe they had the audacity to serve this toasted garbage! I had to throw it away which they should have done at the shop.

Decided to order from here via Ubereats a few days ago because i did not feel like cooking. Also, I haven't had Halal food in ages. I got the Chicken over Rice Platter with fries and it was sooo good! Everything was fresh and tasty including the salad. Portions were excellent, fries were perfectly crisp, chicken was tender, the rice pilaf (which I'm not usually a fan of) was enjoyable as well. They followed my special instructions and added ONLY the sauces that I requested to my food. Also gave me some on the side per my request at no extra charge! Must have sauces are the green, white and hot sauce! Next time i'll try the mixed combo (lamb and chicken) This place rocks!

Order delivery from Uber Eats. Food came earlier than expected. First time trying the wings, fish, and chicken tenders. Wings were crunchy and so, so flavorful.. the sauce was on point! The fish was okay, missing the tartare sauce. Chicken tenders were delicious and juicy. I usually get the gyro or combo plates, but this was worth trying.

    Super delicious & fresh !!

Yes, another good Halal Halal spot !!! 5 stars was only based on my Lamb over salad !! This is fairly a new Halal spot maybe a year old or so.... we use to come here way back but then stoped because the old owners let it go ......... Glad we stopped in again; the restaurant is very clean; the grillman was on point I like my lamb a Lil crispy so he put it on the grill to crisp it up .... Made me an awesome salad with the works and then topped it with plenty of lamb & of course their Halal Halal white sauce & a streak of their hot sauce ... The owner is very friendly as well as polite & accumulating .... Will definitely be back again !!! Everything was super fresh & delicious !!! Very nice selection on their salad bar as far as toppings !! Also saw a lot of cake deserts pre sliced & ready to go ... should have tool a picture ... next time !! Thanks, Greg D.

"Over rice" joints are a dime a dozen in Queens. Halal munchies manages to stand out above most of them due to their unique preparation, a cilantro based sauce and friendly service. I found them to be tastier than the regular offerings we normal go to. As expected, there were leftovers and the food tasted much better the next day after it had marinated overnight. I'm not the biggest fan of fries on top of the food for takeout. By the time you eat, they are pretty soggy and sad looking. But I'm sure it's different on the spot. Overall, a welcome addition in this area!

The pho was decent and filling. The wings were average just seemed undercooked. Pro tip. If you want starters/apps, order them first. After you've finished, revisit the menu and order your main dish. Areas of improvement - don't bring out the main dish first and the appetizer next. It's senseless. There was a party of 11 that came in. The workers really catered to them and left the single diners to themselves but still expect a regulated tip. I had one napkin the entire time and no one ever came over to see if I needed anything. I came, I dined, I left. I won't be back. Also my pho was getting cold as I tried to navigate between the two. Inspire more, Yelp more!

I went during Ramadan with my partner to break my fast, and they were so accommodating. Tip: call them to make a quick reservation beforehand. Next, onto the food. Their service was impeccable. Our host was gracious and greeted us in Arabic as soon as we walked in. He took our order fairly quickly, and the food did not take that long to come out. I wasn't very familiar with Afghan cuisine or what to expect from a halal döner kebab restaurant, but my experience was excellent. One thing I really appreciated was the open kitchen concept. As soon as you walk in, the kitchen is right there on the side, allowing you to watch the food being prepared. Everything feels transparent and fresh. I ordered the chicken gyro, which was packed with flavor and incredibly juicy. I also tried the lamb tikka and beef kofta. Watching the cooks prepare the meat on the large skewers over the grill made the experience even better. The meal came with rice and a side salad, making for a satisfying and well-balanced plate. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I'll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu.

You get two tender thighs and a drumstick, all seasoned and spiced perfectly. The long grain rice is delicious, and the portions are genuinely massive for the price. They include three sauces on the side, but honestly the chicken is flavorful enough on its own that I haven't really needed them. When I went in person to pick up my order, the place was really clean and well-kept, which I always appreciate. I also noticed they have desserts, so I'll definitely be trying those next time. The Food The cooking…read morehere is the real thing -- not the flattened, one-note version of Indian food that so many places settle for, where everything arrives tasting vaguely of the same sauce. At Tikka n' Talk, the spicing has genuine architecture. Each dish has its own personality, its own balance, its own arc from first bite to last. You taste individual spices rather than a generic wall of heat, and there's a depth underneath that only comes from someone who actually knows what they're doing. The tikka is outstanding and lives up to the name -- properly charred at the edges, smoky from real high-heat cooking, and still tender inside. That combination is harder to pull off than it looks, and getting it right every time takes skill. The curries have body and complexity. Sauces that have clearly been built rather than assembled, with layers that reveal themselves as you eat. Nothing is greasy, nothing is heavy in the bad way, and nothing tastes like it came out of a can. The bread deserves its own mention. Fresh, blistered, warm -- the kind you keep tearing off pieces of long after you're full. The Room and the Service The name isn't accidental. This is a place designed for lingering, and the atmosphere delivers on it. Warm, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming without being fussy. It's the kind of room where conversation flows easily, where you settle in without noticing an hour has passed. The staff are a huge part of that. Warm, attentive without hovering, and clearly happy you came. They know the menu cold and will steer you well if you ask -- including on spice levels, which they'll actually calibrate to what you want rather than defaulting to whatever's easiest. That kind of care shows up everywhere in the experience. Food comes out hot, timed well, and exactly as ordered. Basic things, but plenty of places fail at them. The Bottom Line Tikka n' Talk is the rare restaurant that's excellent on every axis at once -- the cooking is skilled, the room is inviting, and the people running it obviously care. It's become a regular for us, and I recommend it without hesitation to anyone who asks where to eat. If you haven't been, go. Order more than you think you need. Stay a while -- the name is an instruction, and it's good advice. Highest possible recommendation.
