Luckily, I found Tori and, even on the initial estimate walkthrough, she was immediately calming, and so "you-got-this!" that we really felt like we did. Once we hired Tori, she came in like a well-organized storm and got us into a groove that even felt good to a feverish sickie like me (I had a bad cold which was kicking my butt); she recommended and coordinated a phenomenal experience with a great moving company, got us packed (with the exception of the art and record collection, which we left for the movers) within 3 sessions - while entertaining and including our rambunctious 3-year-old, taught us very doable future organizing tools for the new place and was a genuine blast to be around. And when we initially thought we'd be unpacking as soon as we arrived - instead of getting renovations done first as we settled on doing - she offered to put us in touch with a DC-based organizer or to come down and help us herself. Yes, techincally you can just dig in and declutter yourself, but when you engage Tori you get several benefits: 1) You carve out a designated time to do this activity 2) Because you're investing in it, you take it very seriouslyi 3) You're saving all the "trial and error" you'd normally get when trying to DIY, which can waste your time and money (if buying mutliple "organization solutions") 4) You get very pro advice! 5) You wouldn't be researching an organizer if you would've done it yourself! Regarding #3: Just having Tori show up and say "do this, change that, get rid of this, and implement these systems" accomplished a home transformation for us in 4 hours. If I tried to do that on my own time, it would've taken 25+ hours, or never have been done properly. We spent about 3, 4 hour sessions unpacking, organizing and by the time we came to the final day, Jade had a good sense of how I functioned. Beyond all of this, Jade truly made me feel comfortable. I've always considered my hoarding tendencies, but never really addressed them. In all honesty, opening up in that way can be very intimate and vulnerable. Jade challenged me to consider the utility of some items and the memory of others - supporting me through each decision. I wish I had before and after photos, because dang! It makes my house so much more comfortable to be in - everything has a place.

This was about half of what I had done previously. I wrote to Smiles Are Maid several times and asked for an estimate, but I didn't get a response. Finally, I just downgraded the size of my home, and when the appointment reminder came, it showed a reasonable price. Amber came on time, and she said there was a change in the work order, which I confirmed with her -- and explained again which areas I wanted cleaned. She started upstairs, and when she was ready to clean the downstairs, I went upstairs. After a while, I realized that I hadn't heard any noise, and I went downstairs to see she'd left, without saying anything. She still did a good job, so I don't have any complaints with her work. However, I was then charged another $84.00 after the cleaning. (They'd charged me more after the first time as well, but I didn't mind that as much, as Amber was there for 10 hours.) I wrote to them several times to ask why I was charged more. When I didn't get a response, I told them that if I didn't hear from them within 48 hours, I was going to take it up with my credit card company. I then heard back immediately. They said that the estimate was based on a one bedroom unit, and that my house was bigger than that. I said yes, it is, but I only asked for cleaning of the areas mentioned, that I'd asked in advance for a quote AND that I'd discussed it with Amber before she started. They did credit my card for the extra charge -- and they cancelled my upcoming service. Again, I asked why they cancelled, told them that wasn't my intention and that I just wanted to be charged fairly for the work that was done. I never heard back from them. So, my final rating: 5 stars for cleaning, 0 stars for communication and trying to keep the customer satisfied.

Only stated that when a car leaks oil and gas they should park in the street. Your 2nd cleaner wanted me to handle her road service. I asked her if she had AAA. I shouldn't have to use my AAA for your employees. As for pictures of me laughing at your employee. Please post them. Quite honestly I didn't even know where her car broke down. Your 2 hour comment is out of line when I have proof of email and texts that say the 8-9 arrival. Your company is highly unprofessional when it come to customers valuable time.

Had to provide all of my own cleaning supply, mops, sponges, microfiber cloths, vacuum, garage bags, etc. The cleaner who came did not speak any English so it was difficult to communicate. Prior to the day of the cleaning, I was suggested to buy a certain brand of cleaner. I bought it and the cleaner did not use it for my grout. Grout in the shower looked untouched. I brought it up but then decided to just leave it be. Once she left, I cleaned the grout with that cleaner and the grout looked pretty good. This was my only disappointment to my service. The cleaner busted her butt and spent over 7 hours in my house. She did beautifully other than the grout. Truly working her tail off and a remarkable attention to detail elsewhere. Eventually figured out to use my translate app to ask if she wanted a water or something. I don't think she took a break at all. Started in the back of my house and went room by room. Window blinds, light fixtures, baseboards, floors, etc. Appreciated her work ethic. Felt the price I was charged was well worth the value of having a perfectly cleaned home.
