Rivalling but certainly not surpassing my local Commonwealth store in DC, Undefeated offers up a long wall of shoes for the sneakerhead and the casual shoe consumer who might want something just a little different from the rest. The shoe selection was definitely heavy on the Nikes, but living with a Nike fanatic the selection is a blessing. Undefeated also stocks other brands like Adidas, Pumas, and my current shoe brand of the moment: Claes. The store is a little light on the apparel and baseball cap selection but the staff was super friendly. Many said the customer service at its La Brea store is bad, and unfortunately, the service I received here is even worse. I bought a pair of shoes at its La Brea store, and the staff there gave me a wrong shoe box for the shoes that I purchased. Moreover, the shoes supposed to come with 3 pairs of different shoe laces but they only gave me two pairs and told me that's the way it is. I wanted to return the shoes the next day and since I was in the Silver Lake area, I visited its Sunset store. The store manager Alfred Bell took care of my return and once he found out the shoe box didn't match with the shoes, and there was a missing pair of shoe laces, he started questioning me with extremely disrespectful attitude and made me felt very uncomfortable. The whole issued was created by the absent-minded staff at La Brea and Mr. Bell has no reason to talk to me in such a rude manner. Undefeated wants to position its brand as cool and sought after, but that doesn't mean you could trash its customers and insult them. This place has the worst customer service sales associates. The sales associates are extremely rude and unwelcoming. They don't want you to touch anything in the store. And when you do touch something they make it apparent that you are being inconvenient to them. I try to use my debit card to purchase two items and a sales associate suggested that I pay cash. She said that the card reader does not work however the person that was rung up before me had paid with card so I knew the card reader did work. I felt like I was being discriminated based on how I looked. I have never in my life felt so uncomfortable in a establishment. read more

I really like this store, not only because they have some amazing sneakers, but if I don't find anything, I know I can always get a hat or sweatshirt with their plain logo and be happy-- but I almost always find something I have to have. The thing with sneaker stores is you can't judge it from one visit as their selection varies depending on when you visit the store--unless you walk in and its all crap, but that doesn't happen here. word of advice for any sneaker shop: don't buy a pair that you don't really love because the selection changes so often you might come back the next week and you find 3 pairs you can't live without.... its good to be picky in this case. read more

During a recent trip to LA, I decided to let my inner shoe whore go wild and buy some kicks. Undefeated was a store on my list of shoe places to go. Went here on a sunny Saturday afternoon after brunch. Stomach was full, I was happy to be in LA for the weekend, the day was beautiful, and was ready to complete my afternoon with a new pair of kicks. There's parking in the back lot but of course it's full so I found parking on the street after circling around a few times. The neighborhood is decent and not sketchy. The inside of the store is big with a lot of space to walk around even with a lot of people. Service sucked. No one greeted me for the 15-20 minutes that I was in there. No "what's up?" or "Need some help?" The selection was a joke to me. There was nothing that had the wow factor that I expected. They just had the usual brands and styles other kick stores have in stock. Since there were no shoes that I wanted, I figured I could get a shirt. Nope, I was wrong. The shirts were boringggg. So maybe I came here on the wrong weekend and they didn't have the more unique kicks in stock. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they probably have better days in terms of selection but the day I went was disappointing!!! read more

One of the best sneaker stores in all of Los Angeles. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful and their sneaker selection is as good as anywhere. I frequent Undefeated stores with my son, and out of all their locations, Silverlake is the one! The staff is so kind and knowledgeable and the store always looks so clean. I even waited in line for a sneaker release here with my son once and was in-and-out in 20 minutes (which if you've never waited for a sneaker release, that's nothing!) Can't recommend this store enough to anyone looking for fresh sneakers and clothing in Silverlake area. read more

I've had good luck at this place! I've been able to get three pairs of sneakers I had been looking for at retail and only stood in line for ten to fifteen minutes. Stopped by to get a gift for a friend. I usually go to the location on La Brea, but I was in the Silverlake area so this was more convenient. Service was great, very nice and helpful girl up front. Size and selection wise I feel like the La Brea location is a bit better and bigger. However parking is much better at this location than at the La Brea location. I'd must rather attempt to get exclusive releases at this location instead though, I would feel like you'd get a better chance at getting what you want here and skip the crowd/line at the La Brea store. read more

My boyfriend bought me a pair of shoes from here for an early Christmas gift but got them in a size too small. When we went to exchange them they refused to give us cash back and only offered store credit. Ok, fine. Then we asked them to order the same pair of shoes in the correct size, to which they said 'no special orders'. Super awesome. I mentioned that it was unfair that they weren't giving us any options and they told us it was clearly marked on the receipt that they don't give cash back so we took the store credit and left. Maybe they should change the name to 'defeated' because that's how i felt by the time i left. Thanks, Undefeated, for giving us absolutely no options and clearly not caring about keeping customers happy. For the record, California state law says the following on refund policies: 'The policy must be displayed either at each entrance to the store, at each cash register and sales counter, on tags attached to each item, or on the company's order forms, if any. A return policy printed only on a receipt, for example, is not sufficient. If a store violates this law (California Civil Code section 1723), the purchaser can return an item for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.' Went in to purchase a pair of shoes that I'd been looking for. When I walked in no one said anything to me. That's ok, I don't need a greeting. Found the shoes I was looking for & had to go over to 1 of the 2 employees and interrupt and ask for the shoe in my size. To which I was told they had sold out the day before. Okay. Are they expecting more? They didn't know. As I was putting the shoe back on the shelf some guy walked in and immediately was greeted and helped out. So, no I would not shop here again. In fact, I ended up ordering my shoes from a store in NY (DQM) and they were incredible. Would totally order from them again before going back to Undefeated. This shoe shop kind of fits the neighborhood. Go get an overpriced coffee from the surly baristas across the street & then cruise into Undefeated for equally surly customer service. this location is soooo much better than the La Brea location for one reason: GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. this is one of my many negative experiences with the store on La Brea in Hollywood: I want to start off by staying this is a really nice store to visit, but parents beware that this place is Rated "R" because of the way the female worker there dresses. It is very inappropriate. My kids love this store, so unfortunately I'm going to have to be back. She also does NOT know anything about customer service. I was back there yesterday and like previous times she was on the cell phone the entire time and she wold make it seem like I was bothering here every time I asked to try on some shoes. Every time I asked if they had a specific size she would look up from her cellphone and just say yes or no. If they did have the size, she would not offer to show it to me. So I would have to ask her again if I could please try on the shoe and she would look very annoyed by this. Since they didn't have my son's size in the Nike Frees he wanted, I asked if she knew if the other stores had them and she replied: i don't know. The store was empty so I don't see why she could not offer to call them herself. Maybe this store doesn't care about customer service?
