We stayed at Under Canvas Zion in June 2026 and it ended up being one of our favorite family trips. Even with the summer heat, the experience felt high end, peaceful, and memorable. The tents have running hot water but absolutely no electricity, so I was very glad I brought plenty of batteries to charge our devices. Our tent easily slept four with room to spare, and the site felt very private. The staff was extremely nice, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, which made the stay even better. For transparency, our two night stay came to just under one thousand dollars. That included room charges, resort fees, lodging tax, and sales tax. For what we received, I thought the pricing was fair. The location is perfect. It is about twenty minutes from Zion, close to two towns for anything you need, and Tesla Superchargers were also about twenty minutes away. My girls loved the s'mores every night, and the midnight stars were unbelievable. It truly felt worth every dollar. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back. read more

I had a very disappointing stay at Under Canvas Zion, especially considering the high price (around $500 per night). When we arrived, the tent already had a visible tear in the wall. For a place that markets itself as a premium "glamping" experience, this is completely unacceptable. The inside of the tent was also dusty and did not feel clean or well-maintained at all. Another major issue was the noise. Although the property states quiet hours start at 10 PM, there were multiple vehicles driving through the camp between 11 PM and 1 AM. The noise was loud and constant, which completely ruined the atmosphere and made it hard to sleep. The front desk service was also not helpful when we raised concerns. Overall, the experience felt very different from what is advertised in the photos. For this price point, the quality, cleanliness, and service were far below expectations. This place is definitely about the view and the experience. I love off-the-grid camping and connecting with nature, and in that sense, it delivered. The amenities like the shower were a nice touch, but to be honest, it's absolutely not worth the price. There's no power in the tent, and they don't allow you to bring food inside, which was really inconvenient--especially traveling with a baby. On top of that, you have to purchase all your meals on-site because there's no place to cook or store food, so costs add up very quickly. The only complimentary offerings are the watery coffee in the morning and the s'mores by the communal gas fire pits at night, which can get pretty crowded. It's definitely missing a private fire pit or outdoor chill area by the tent, which would have made the experience more personal and enjoyable. I would much rather book a spot at Watchman Campground for a similar, more practical, and significantly more affordable experience. Breakfast was good, but the coffee was ridiculously overpriced. Under Canvas is undeniably beautiful, and the views are stunning--but honestly, it's worth about half the price they charge. It's a bit of an upper-scale glamping setup clearly marketed to people who can comfortably afford the luxury price tag. Great experience to try once, but I would not return. I had been wanting to experience Under Canvas for a while now, and finally got the chance. After Covid lockdowns and living in the city we were looking forward to getting out of town, back to nature with beautiful views and some peace and quiet. Check in was fine, the staff is friendly and helpful. A representative sat with us and explained everything we needed to know about the tent, services and gave a hands on show of how to set up the fire in the stove in the tents. We didn't have parking right at our tent, so a staff member met us at our car, loaded our bags on a golf cart and drove us to our tent. We settled in and quickly realized it must be spring break. There were a lot of kids, which honestly is fine. I love to see families out giving their kids a chance to experience camping and the wilderness. Our Stargazer tent was right off the golf cart path, and not far from the lobby tent and the tetherball court. It was a freeway next to our tent, if it wasn't golf carts going by it was kids running by and playing tetherball up until quiet time. So the peace and quiet we longed for was not going to happen. So if you are looking for the same thing we were, this may not be the place for you. Now, to the tent. We had chosen a Stargazer tent and loved it. Falling asleep looking up at the night sky each night was awesome. The bed had plenty of blankets which were appreciated as it was cold during our stay, the end of March. Inside is a wood fire stove, shower, sink and toilet. We had two chairs to sit and read by. On the front deck were two chairs and a small table to sit in the evening and watch the sunset and the ever changing light on the peaks and red rocks. There is no electricity in the tent so leave the curling iron, hair dryer or flat iron at home. This really is camping, so pack accordingly. You are pretty much out in the wilderness and it is a good distance to Virgin or into Springdale, so having the café on property is a great option. The food was good, and there are some delicious vegetarian options. The menu is set and doesn't change and the portions can be somewhat small if you are hungry after a day of hiking. Food is not allowed in the tents to prevent small critters taking over. The lobby tent has games you can borrow, which is nice. The staff will offer help with hiking trails, private experiences such as biking, climbing, hiking and there is yoga onsite. The smore's each evening was fun and a nice treat. The lobby offers sandwiches to purchase so you can take them with you if you are going out for the day. All in all, it was a nice experience, and the night sky and sunrises were stunning. Amazing & memorable experience! The views are tremendously breathtaking! This is glamping to the extreme. For someone who has never camped, this was perfect for me. We booked online & found an opening around my birthday. We picked the stargazer tent, which has a portion of the tent as a window right above the head of the bed so you can view the stars. Because of this location & how far away you are from any city lights, you can see each & every star glittering in the sky! During the day, we looked at clouds! The tent was huge! Right before you enter, there are pieces of wood stocked for your wood burning stove. There are also 2 wooden chairs & a table for you to sit outside & enjoy the view. Inside, was even more spacious. A soft queen sized bed with two sets of blankets - one comforter & a thinner yet warm fleece/Sherpa type of blanket under. There were two sitting chairs to the side & a rug in the middle. To the left was a "window" for the tent which you can zip up and down. To the left was a wood burning stove with more piles of wood & a fire starter kit that included matches, tinier sticks, & a fire starter. Behind all of this was a barn door that hid the toilet, sink, & shower! The shower is a pull chain. After a good 15 seconds, hot water will be coming your way. Because it is a pull chain, the water doesn't come out unless you're pulling on the chain. Helps you save water! The sink is only cold water & is sourced/cleaned so you can drink it! I recommend to bring some water containers to drink in. During the night, you can zip up your tent & feel the warmth of the stove. Because it's wood, of course the fire is soon to die out, so you just have to watch it & place more wood in. If you ever have any trouble, the under canvas team is happy to help & supply you with any fire starting tools you run out of. If you get cold easily, I recommend to bring an extra blanket with you for the cold nights. The main lobby area has tables, games, a guitar, an endless s'mores supply you can ask for to make s'mores 24/7, & the kitchen. They are open 7am to 10am for breakfast & 5pm to 10 pm for dinner. Food is so yummy!! You eat and can sit inside, outside to enjoy the view, or even your tent! If you say anything in your tent, they just ask you to lock it up in your car when you're done or call for a trash pick up. It's still like camping - where there is food, it attracts little critters! Outside of the main lobby tent, there are so many places for you to sit & enjoy your food, hot cocoa/coffee. They even have 3 bonfire settings outside and a corn toss game to the side. Depending on the day, there will be yoga, music entertainment, & other types of gigs going on. There is so much to do at Under Canvas! I wasn't sure what to expect from Under Canvas and thought the experience would be snooty, but it ended up being great. The camp was upscale but fun. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and down to earth. They all seemed like they enjoyed being there. The food was great and live music during dinner was really nice. After dinner there are unlimited smores around the fire, which was a lot of fun. I also enjoyed the selection of local beers. It was fun to talk to other people at the fire and hear about their experiences at the park. The tent itself was beautiful. We got a stargazer tent and I wasn't sure whether the plastic viewer window above the bed would be worth it, but it was actually really enjoyable to be able to look up at the stars all night. The plastic was very clean, so the view was perfect. Our tent had a bathroom and shower inside, and the whole setup was really nice. We only stayed one night and I wish we had stayed longer because it was a really nice experience. The only drawback is that you can't take food into your tent and there is no refrigerator. The unit was advertised as "pet friendly " on Hotels.com. I prepaid for 3 nights. When we were getting ready to check in the receptionist said pets were not allowed to be left alone. The management was rude and would not even refund the remaining 2 days. Be aware! They are NOT pet friendly. This review is way overdue! I spent a night at Under Canvas with my boyfriend this past summer and it was such a unique experience. First thing's first, if you are going to book a stay here, do it with an open mind. Although you'd expect "glamping" to be glamorous, at the end of the day you are still camping, and in this case, in the the middle of a beautiful nowhere. What some people may not like: Besides the fact that it is quite pricey, it gets VERY hot if you go in the summer, you won't get much signal, and the weather is unpredictable. Here's my experience and why I loved it: We booked the stargazing room which is one of the priciest. It had its own private toilet/shower/sink, so we didn't have to use the communal restrooms. We figured if we were going to spend so much, we might as well go all out and get the best experience. When we arrived, we were greeted by very friendly staff. They guided us through the day and sat with us to explain everything in detail. Our tent was super spacious and very clean! Perfect for two. The views were amazing too. We didn't have much signal, but this allowed us to disconnect and simply enjoy. The night of our stay, it also happened to be very windy and stormy! We fully basked in it! This made our experience even more unique and special; plus the sound of the rain was super relaxing. At around 2AM the rain cleared out, and through our stargazing window we were able to enjoy a beautiful sky full of stars. There is also a restaurant on site, so you don't have to worry about food and drinks. Refreshing water is available for you 24/7! All in all, for me personally, 1 night was enough for me to enjoy. I am writing an honest review for those who want to know all the details and may not be well versed on visiting Zion Nat Park to help prepare you! First, the the property is stunning. The views are incredible from the property and our tent (tent 60-deluxe tent) was in the perfect location for solitude and star gazing. The reception/restaurant tent was an easy walk and having an on-site restaurant with great food (serving dinner and grab and go food/coffee bar for early morning departures was awesome). They had live music every night we were there which was so fun. They had fire pits set up and smores roasting, tons of board games and card games. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The staff were incredible! Our tent was lovely- no bugs and not dirty (like other reviews say). Everything we needed we had! pully shower worked great. Awesome tent set up! Now, for the cons: (which aren't really cons just things I did not research well enough). We visited June 23-27 and there is no air conditioning. I just assumed based on the price, there would be. They have misters installed in the front portion of the tent and on the deck, but it was still extremely hot during the day. After waking up at 4 am and hiking all day, returning to camp around 2 pm it was brutal when all you want is to cool down and relax. It did cool down once the sun went down and we were fine sleeping, until the last night which was especially hot and it did not cool down to a comfortable temp till around 4 am. The location is also 30-40 minutes from the park entrance, which adds significant time to your transit when you want to get into the park extremely early. The shuttles begin at 6 am- we arrived at 5:30 am on our first day and were told we were #900 in line and that is was a really light day. The town of Spindale is at the entrance and offers tons of cool restaurants, coffee shops, hotels, etc. Staying here would have shaved off significant time. Pro-tip, you can easily rent bikes from town and bike in to avoid the crazy shuttle lines and beat the crowds, as it felt like Disneyland in there. For the same price, having an AC hotel with a pool would have been so nice. We ended up staying in a hotel (hotels tonight had a great deal) one night and eating the cost because we just wanted to cool down ;) Also, this is a very family oriented place. Everyone staying there was a family with tons of kids running around. Great spot for a family trip, but my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and it was not really what we expected. All in all, it just depends on what you want out of the trip! If I could do it again, I think I would stay there 1 night and then move to town for the remainder of the trip. I love love love this place so so much! This was our first glamping experience and boy under canvas did not disappoint. From being welcomed into our tents an hour early to those star gazing in the night to the fire pit in the night to a smooth checkout in the morning, this place has so so much to offer! We were welcomed into our canvas by this sweet girl who showed us around and explained to us various features which they have to offer. Our canvas had a small porch with 2 chairs and a small table for sipping hot coffee/tea in the morning, also there was a mist just above it for hot afternoons, also inside we had a fire pit for cold days and cozy nights, a start gazing window because why not, hot showers, wooden ottoman with storage and also a must inside the tent. Apart from the amazing star gazing at night , they do have a fire pit and s'mores for that camp fire feeling. When you are done with star gazing (which is never) you can also go to the other side of the reception and choose from their amazing collection of board games to play outside or take it back to your canvas. I wish their roads were well illuminated at night, however you can call them and one of the staff members will come to pick you up in their golf carts. At night we could hear the cayotes from a distance which gave a nice camp like feeling. Just make sure you close the zipper fully to the tent as there are quite a few insects in the night. If you're thinking about doing it, just do it! I am personally not a camper by any means and this place was the best experience ever. They really take glamping to a new level. For our stay we had a Safari tent. It came with a very comfy queen size bed, all the blanket/sheets we needed, two portable lanterns, a power bank for charging phones or anything with a usb power adapter, a small little fire place which we didn't end up actually using, two chairs and a small table outside the tent, two chairs inside the tent, and a mister inside the tent. We comfortable fit 3 of us, two on the bed and one on the complimentary cot. Our tent wasn't located too far from the main lobby and parking was just down a pathway. We also were pretty close to the bathhouse which features individual restrooms/showers. Towels were provided in the linen closet, the toilets were fully functional, and the showers used a pull chain mechanism for water conservation. The main lobby tent features a small gift shop area, restaurant, indoor fire pit, board games and complementary water, tea and coffee. All of the staff was super friendly with giving our an orientation of everything and letting us know they were available for any questions or concerns. They also had daily activities available like yoga, volleyball and cornhole. I would highly recommend staying here for a unique and beautiful experience. read more

I've never been camping with an actual pitched tent and... I've always wanted to try. But, glamping is trending these days and it's like the perfect transition into it. In a way, its like camping and in a way, it's like a hotel. It's like camping because: 1. You are literally inside a tent 2. There is no internet/wifi around 3. You have a fire pit outside to make s'mores 4. There are wild animals that are said to roam the area at times (but for the most part, it is safe) 5. You have to walk outside away from the tent to use the bathroom/restroom facilities - The bathroom facility is fairly clean. It's pretty unique in that you have to pull a string to get the water running the whole time you are in the shower. The water can either be very cold or hot depending and there's no way to adjust it. It's a universal water system. It's like a hotel because: 1. You have actual mattresses and beds 2. Someone comes in during the day to actually clean/make your bed (like a maid service) 3. You have a main communal tent, where a staff member is around at all times to help assist you, where you can get food/drinks and where you can just hang around and talk or play select board games. 4. The fire pits are prepped by a staff member on request (and they provide the kit including the stick/marshmallows/graham crackers/chocolate) It's a pretty cool experience for those who have never been camping. You do have to pay the cost, but the facility and the offerings are pretty convincing. It is as close as one can get to the full-on outdoor camping experience. Oh wow. Where do I even begin with this place? I'll preface by saying that I've only done actual camping a couple of times in my life when I was fairly young and I had never done "glamping". In fact, I didn't even know that this was a thing until just recently. I don't know what I expected, but definitely not this. Let's get the pros out of the way: the location is unbelievably beautiful at sunset and at night. The stars they are a plenty. The beds in the tents are also decently comfortable(way better than a sleeping bag), but the sheets were scratchy, low thread count. The staff was also friendly upon checking in and offered my family and I water and cold towels. That's it. That is the positive. The website for this place portrays it as way, way better than it is. I'm telling you that right off the bat. I guess it would have been better if I had a tent with a bathroom and I hadn't visited in July(I am not a Summer baby by any means). The place during the day in the Summer time is a hellscape of sweat and sand. Anyway, the place is just not that great. Maybe I expected too much, but for the prices they charge, one is reasonable to expect more. Read on for details. Maybe this IS the place for you. I guess it depends on who you are and what you want out of your stay. We originally booked two nights and only stayed one. That's pretty telling. We sort of knew we were not going to stay two nights after checking in and experiencing the intense heat of the tent, but we wanted to give it a try and then....a couple of things sent us over the edge. 1. If you do not have a bathroom in your tent, you are not going to have a good time if a clean facility is something you value. You will have to walk to the communal bathrooms and if you are a person that pees in the middle of the night like me, you will probably hold it. The bathrooms were not terribly far, but as the day went on(and by the time I actually wanted to use them), they were dirty, smelly, and overall not pleasant. The staff did not keep up with cleaning or restocking towels. It was not an ideal situation by any means. During the pandemic, you want clean facilities and this was not up to par, not for glamping and not even for camping. I would rather crap in a hole outside. That is probably ten times cleaner than the bathrooms here. Also, the bathrooms are limited, so if there are lots of people, you will have to wait. 2. The lights on our walk way to our tent were out and it was very dark outside. Seriously, would it be too much to check the path lights to make sure they work for the guests? I think not. We did have rechargeable lanterns in our tent that we used to walk to and from the bathrooms and the community area, but the pathway lights would have been nice. Again, for the price you pay, the dang lights should work. 3. Our tent had a hole in it near the ground(tear? hole? I don`t know) and there were cockroaches in our tent. We tried to shoo them away, but we are pretty sure they stayed the night with us. No oversight of checking the tents for damage and repairing them was done. 4. Quiet time is NOT enforced at all. We hung out at the community center for a little while the night we stayed because they had misters and a nice breeze up there. In general the crowd around us(they had tables set up on a patio) were behaved but there were a few groups that were incredibly loud, drunk, and obnoxious. I know, I know, not everyone is going to have self control and be able to realize when they are being a jackass, but the staff did not provide any type of rules or suggestion that they should quiet down, or stop drinking when clearly no more was needed. This particular table next to us was talking very loudly, crudely, and overall distasteful. I have a lot of patience and I can take a lot, but I felt my nerves being grated and I felt bad for the parents with kids around. It's one of those situations where you don`t know how much confrontation should or should not happen in order to avoid things turning ugly. I really wish the staff would have been better at keeping the peace and quiet. We heard that group from our tent when we went to settle in the for night. They were at it well into the late hours. Very annoying. 5. We ordered some wine and a charcuterie plate from the little "cafe"(where the chef wore his face mask below his chin, Like, seriously, what is the point of the mask then?) and the plate was fine, but the meat was sort of grey. Not the most appetizing looking food. Wine was also very expensive for domestic. Meh. I guess when you're out there and want something to eat, they know they can make more money. 6. It is pandemic time, y'all, and a lot of people were not wearing masks or social distancing and the facility did not enforce it. I found this to be true at a lot of places in the surrounding areas outside of Springdale. Great plan, poor execution. read more

Just to preface this review, I'm not really a "camper." I booked this place because the website described it as "luxurious" and comparable to "the comfort of your own home." I would not be writing this review if they weren't marketing themselves this way. I think the photos online are misleading. On the website the canvas is bright white which makes the tents appear squeaky clean, and yes, very luxurious. In reality, they were very dirty and there were dead bugs in the crevices between the canvas and floor boards, etc. There were also multiple tears in the canvas and the zipper was janky and did not close all the way, which allowed critters to get in. We found two desert recluse spiders in our room, one was right above our bed, which was terrifying. We ended up stuffing towels and plastic bags in the holes to make us feel more comfortable sleeping at night. I would have felt better in a two person zip up tent from Costco. We stayed in the "duluxe" tent (tent 50) which included a private bathroom. The smell of sewage was so bad I honestly didn't want to be in the bathroom area at all. The smell creeped into the area where the bed was. My boyfriend didn't notice it too much but it was pretty unbearable for me. We were out for the majority of the day and when we arrived back at our tent it was zipped differently than when we left - in two different sections. I called the front desk thinking maybe it was an employee but they said due to COVID they're not entering the guests tents, not even for housekeeping. This just really weirded us out as it was clear to us someone was in our tent. Nothing was taken (we took our valuables with us) but still very creepy and violating. I am not a happy camper. That is what I found out when I shelled out the ~$400 to go glamping here. I never grew up camping so when it comes to living out in nature, I'm about as intuitive as a rock. Pretty sure I would die out in the wild in about 24 hours if left to my own devices. Enter our trip to Zion and the opportunity to go glamping. I like the feeling of being out in nature but still having cellular service and wifi to post on IG about how "in tune" with "nature" I am. I splurged and got a tent with our very own bathroom facilities. The bathroom area is divided into two parts--the toilet/sink, and the shower. The bathroom, and in fact the whole tent, was in clean, pristine condition. One thing to keep in mind is that, because the bathroom is separated by a mere curtain, your partner can hear all your piss streams and farts. All good, considering that if you were really roughing it in the wild, your partner would be seeing and hearing and smelling a lot more. The sleep was not that comfortable to me. The tent kept flapping in the wind, and I was entirely paranoid that a bear would terrorize the campsite, find my Sunchips in my backpack, and rip our tent (and me) to shreds. But for glamping, this was as comfortable as it could get. Not sure that I loved the experience so much that I'd do it again, though. The main camp area was lovely and the evening smores were a nice touch. All the employees were very pleasant to interact with, and eager to help. Because of the price, if I HAD to go camping, I'd probably chance a more rugged experience next time around. With this trip under my belt, I am ready for the outdoors. read more

This was definitely a unique glamping experience for my family and I. My young teens definitely enjoyed the experience even though they were initially hesitant about it. The weather was just bearably cold enough for us Florida peeps. We had a wood burning stove that kept our tent plenty warm for the night. My daughter even kicked off her blanket because the stove made it a little too warm for her. I believe the temps were in the mid to high 40s, possibly even in the low 50s. The views from our tent were amazing! And Logan was very helpful in helping us get set up. I would have given them a 5, but the groupie college crowd that smoked pot and were obnoxiously loud as their musician friend performed put a damper on our experience as we just tried to enjoy the ambiance by sitting by the fire pit making s'mores. read more

My kids have been asking to go camping so why not take them "glamping" instead?! The concept is really neat and it is located in a great spot. They have a cute little welcome area that has an eatery, games for kids, supply you with a water bottle upon arrival and they do offer s'mores kits for the fire pit. I think that our actual stay would have been better had we been informed of a few things upon arrival. So let me go ahead and inform you in case you are not told at arrival. There are ear buds in your room that are for the windy nights. Inside of the tents become very loud to the point that you feel as if your tent will blow away. Use them We were told that the tents are very well insulated so light the fire at night and you will stay warm throughout the night. Nope. We froze the first night and there is no way to keep the kids tent warm as there is not a spot to build a fire. Also, be aware that when showering, you will either freeze or burn. There is a chain that you pull and must hold in order to have running water during your shower. There is no in between with the water temperature. We had booked 2 nights in Mid June and left after the first night knowing no refund was coming our way. I feel that the corporate owners scammed everyone claiming the luxury off grid clamping with sustainable everything is a scam. The "amenities" in the 105 degree tent are a mini fan with a mini phone charger that lasts about a couple hours, certainly not through the night. No power (Jackery) is avaliable for a CPAP machine. Even the water conservation attempt feels short. The tap water is so hot that even running it for 4 minutes did not make it drinkable. Where does that waste water go? The owners were smart in buying up cheap dusty, hot land near national parks, everything else they did on the cheap. No wifi. They say to be off grid, while reality says they did not want to spend the money. No power to be " off grid" while reality says it is a cheap way to go. The food was very good but very expensive and the staff were helpful and frendly. The marketing is fantastic but reality was super disappointing. Compare Under Canvas to another resort minutes away....wow. Loved the location. Loved the experience Sophia greeted us and brought us to to the room. It's her first week here. She's new from San Diego. Very friendly Bed was comfy and our tent #20 had an excellent view However Terrence (maintenance) has to be called as our fire kept dying. He came twice to help but even he couldn't get fire going He had mentioned the front desk people cut the wood - size of wood too huge for the stove. All wood is damp. Given the price of the place and the high30s/low 40 temp, place advertises as having wood stove . However it didn't work at all. We have two more nights at Arches with same company - I don't hope that happens With two kids it was extremely cold. Very disappointed read more

We had such a wonderful experience at under canvas! I will preface this by saying we do a lot of camping, but this was our first time glamping experience. It was wonderful coming back to camp after a long day of hiking and having a real bed! Such a comfy bed. All the staff are super friendly and attentive, we wanted our shower water temp turned down and maintenance arrived less than 5 minutes after texting them. The perfect getaway with beautiful views and prime stargazing action. Let yourself be free and disconnect at Under Canvas with the comforts of some home amenities such as a huge comfy bed and clean bathrooms. Being there is truly surreal. The staff there are great and make your stay the best it can be. Smores every night with a campfire. Restaurant serves decent foods with hot chocolate, coffee, tea, etc. on tap all the time. You may have to walk a bit to use a bathroom or you can splurge on a tent with a bathroom inside. The showers were very warm and we didn't have to wait at all. The only thing we wished was better was our sleep- but this is just nature deciding to have wind storms causing our tent to be very loud. So bring some earplugs! Other than that, have a great time here. read more

An experience out of this world. Stayed here 1 night while visiting Zion National Park and was blown away. Checked in at about 6 pm and was assisted by Chris who was super nice and accommodating. He led us to our Deluxe Canvas and showed us how everything worked and gave us a tour of the camp. The deluxe canvas included a propane heated shower and toilet. The camp/facility was much newer and organized compared to the Moab location (which was also outstanding). What gave this location the 5 star review was the cleanliness of the canvas and the VIEW! Will definitely return and have already recommended to several friends and family members who are sure to visit. read more

*Slow clap* I came across Under Canvas Zion while trying to plan for a proposal. I told Under Canvas about my plan to propose at the top of Angel's Landing and they were eager to help decorate the room and they made sure that it was ready by the time I got back to the campsite. Huge props to Under Canvas for making things happen. The location for Under Canvas is BEAUTIFUL. I woke up each day with a perfect view of Zion. The campsite is about 20 to 30 minutes away from the visitor center. Service here is top notch. Everyone working here is running around with a HUGE smile on their face. I did not once feel like the staff was unwelcoming. They provide complimentary coffee and tea at the main tent. They light up the fireplace inside the main tent to provide a nice atmosphere at night. In addition, they had the outdoor fire pit going so that families could make s'mores and hang out. If I get another chance, I would totally come back again! read more

This place is unbelievable!! It is beyond our expectation! The location, the view, friendliness of staff, the tent...etc everything you want for a Glam camp you get them all here! We came with three young children ranging from 2-7 and so we rented a family suite for 2 nights. Our tent is #41, oh boy, it was pretty high up and that gave us one of the best views. It was at the edge of the hill but I still felt very safe with my kids. The pull out couch for the kids was as big as a King size bed, so all three slept together with no problem. The shower water turned hot within seconds and there's also flushing toilet and sink in our tent. There's no WiFi but the signal was great (AT&T), so no problem communicating with the outside world if needed. We love how friendly the people who work there. The food in the restaurant was pretty impressive, absolutely restaurant worthy! I loved their UnderCanvas burger especially. Lots of wine and beer to choose from as well. The lobby also offers free coffee,tea and hot cocoa 24/7. I can't wait to come back again and perhaps try other under canvas locations in other national parks. Overall this place is very well run. I guess "glamping" is my thing now, don't think I can go back to basic camping. read more

Fun first-time glamping experience. We immediately felt welcome by the kind service from staff and they even had a sign in the front of the tent saying "Happy Anniversary." The attention to detail was so sweet as I had mentioned on our reservation it was our 5 year anniversary. It made everything so special. We got the stargazer tent, which was over $400 a night. It's a spacious tent and great for a couple. I would definitely think with that amount of money per night, we could at least have breakfast included. The food is good but is pricey and options are also limited. They do supply free coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the common area with board games to play. They also provide free s'more kits but you have to get it from staff as it's not available in the common area. I really like the brand of products they had in the shower area. The downside to bathing is that every 10 seconds you will be in comfortable, warm water and 10 seconds later you are in freezing water. Aside from that, it was a charming experience to take in the beauty of Zion. We were also there during Halloween so there was light entertainment along with candy which was a nice touch. This is definitely ideal for either couples or even families. They offer different types of tents that are more spacious if you have little ones. read more

This place is for all the glampers!! As we were approaching the resort on highway 9 I started to get excited because the view from the resort looked spectacular. The directions the resort gave us were accurate, so glad they informed us and informed us not to use google maps. As we walked up to the front entrance we were greeted by a gentleman who checked us in, showed us around the place and told us there'd be music and s'mores outside the dining area that evening. It turns out the night was indeed relaxing and perfect after a all day of hiking. And, to add more beauty to the end of a long day, we saw the prettiest sunset. Cons: Because the tents are made out of canvas you can hear EVERYTHING! People, Kids talking, babies crying and people driving on the road next to your tent back and forth to the dining area, it just gets loud. Of course this is not the resorts fault but they should've disclosed that when I booked the place. If the noise went away I'd be happy to pay their prices. If you're thinking about visiting under the canvas I'd definitely not come during peek times. Also, if someone near you has fired up their cabin heater beware of smelling their smoke, we were a little smoked out and woke up to the heavy smell of smoke. Ugh Food: Not the best quality food in my opinion, the chicken was chewy, and the fries were over salted. Veggie burger was just okay. The best thing on the menu was the fish dinner with veggies and a potato. Quality over quantity I alway say. ;) I would like to see better quality food and better food ideas; at least for the grownups. Pros: Beautiful views, especially from our tent. The tents are VERY nice. The king bed was super comfortable with great bedding. Each tent gets a wood burning stove for heat and ongoing heated bath and sink water, so nice! Aside from all the icky noise I spoke about, the place and tents are definitely a 5 star tent experience. Garret, and Laura were super friendly and helped us when we needed something. All the staff were super helpful and VERY ACCOMMODATING!! Five stars for that alone. ;) We will definitely be back and will tryout their other 8 locations. ;) read more

Simply amazing! This place is a gem and we will be back (or will visit another Under Canvas) in a heartbeat. The views are astonishing and the glamping tents more than satisfied. We stayed in tent 38 (a deluxe tent w/tipi) which came with a plush king sized bed, bathroom, and a deck overlooking Sunset Canyon. For camping they also have great amenities such as fire pits (w/ s'mores), board games and outdoor games, and their restaurant Embers. TIP ON EMBERS The portions are huge. My wife and I split the tacos for dinner and the burrito for breakfast and were more than satisfied. Staff was also great! Do not hesitate to book your stay here. read more

The photos and the captions in them should tell you everything. If this was my own poorly erected tent or cost $50 a night, I'd get it. But for nearly $600 a night one doesn't expect such horror. We paid over $1700 for three nights that were supposedly $439/night, go figure on the absurd "taxes and fees" but yes, that part is true too. The location is really beautiful, I'll give them that. The idea is great but horribly executed. Our mesh tent had a broken zipper that never closed and the tent had several tears and openings for entry by all bugs. My 4 year old, father in law, wife, and I were all bitten at night a few times. Unfortunately after driving from So Cal with no other options elsewhere we were forced to make do and survive. Needless to say that my wife did not sleep sound once trough out the three days stay and that lack of sleep took a major toll on strength and mind for the beautiful hikes in Zion that are absolutely breathtaking and incredible. In the morning of day 2 I advised the staff of the massive point of entry for bugs via the torn zipper inner mesh asking if they can fix and spray the tent while we go hike. We returned late afternoon finding nothing has been done about the requests, not even had the soap refilled for the sink as it was never full to begin on our arrival. I chased down a service person who had no such ticket open for the service call, but he did quickly get on the case. Unfortunately the fix was a hand sewn patch up job that allowed zipper to come down 90+% of the way down, but leaving a 9-10 inch opening at the bottom. He said the teeth on the zipper were broken so he could not fix it to close completely without replacing the entire inner mesh, which "he was unable to do at this time." We dealt with it, having little other choice, by pitching our own tent inside the tent so if you actually don't mind traveling here and paying $600 a night to pitch your own tent to avoid bugs, it's actually a beautiful spot. This was how e we survived night two, although our own two person tent was tight for my wife and two daughters to sleep in. I just slept in the bed and dealt with the bug bites, since we are in nature after all. For night three we arrived back very late (~10 pm) from Bryce Canyon, which is a beautiful 2.5 hour drive away, only to find not only is our tent a bug trap, but so is the adjacent teepee for my in laws. Father in law slept in the car, wife and two daughters in our make shift tent within the tent, mother in law wrapped like a mummy around two of our own sheets to lay on the king size bed, and I laying with the bugs (yes, I got bit more). Exhausted after 3 days of several mile hikes and sleeping in these nerve wrecking conditions, I am dreading the 7 hour ride home. The toilet and shower are not worth it. The shower is a chain you have to pull and hold with a weak drizzle of water completely unsuitable for even shampooing hair. Luckily I'm bald, but my wife and two daughters are not. Our family had an amazing adventure in Zion and Bryce Canyon filled with awe, jubilation, amazement, splendor, happiness, and joy. And thanks to Under Canvas Zion you can add discomfort, sorrow, agony, fear, exhaustion, disappointment and disapproval to that list. While the accommodations piece of this vacation was a horror, we won't let that tarnish the wonder of the rest of this vacation. Next time we will just get an RV, stay at a better manager camp resort (we saw several others on the way to Zion and Bryce). Don't believe the hype of effective marketing with these folks. Save yourself the hassle and just bring your own camping supplies and find a place to pitch a tent. read more

We just returned from our stay at Under Canvas Zion. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. The staff, cabins, grounds and restaurant on site was all impressive. Cabin: We stayed in a Deluxe which had a bathroom/shower. It was worth the extra money to not have to trek down to the community facilities. All cabins have a wood burning fireplace. It's a necessity especially during the evening on cold nights. The evenings were down in the 30's and the fireplace kept the cabin nice and warm. The on-site Embers restaurant was great and reasonably priced. On one of the nights they were offering a rib eye steak special with roasted potatoes and veggies for $20. It was delicious. Another bonus: They have craft beer and wine on hand to purchase if you don't want to leave or forgot to bring supplies in. Under Canvas Zion is probably the best camping experience I've ever had. What an experience! I've been car camping, beach camping, tent camping and RV camping in some of the most beautiful state parks, and on the East and West Coast! All great experiences, but this unlike any experience I've ever had! The glampground sits near the top of a mountain in Virgin, Utah. The glamp sites are situated so you are above or below your neighbors. Privacy is not an issue. The tents are extremely spacious! Our tent included a very comfortable King Size bed, a lamp table on each side of the bed, two chairs at the foot of the bed, a small stand/table between the chairs, a coat hanger, and a wood burning stove. The stove heats up the tent within minutes. The interior of the tent is high enough so that you can walk throughout the entire tent without worrying about bumping your head on the canvas lol! Oh and the floor is carpeted. There are two more additional chairs and a table just outside the tent, beneath an overhead cover. So, you have your own little covered patio! We spent some time here enjoying the beautiful view of the landscape with some wine. Please see the attached pics. Let's talk about accomodations. Guests can literally order room service, seriously! We ordered morning coffee for $25. That morning, we woke up to a pot of coffee outside our tent. Kind of nice, although it did not come with milk or cream, so I had to walk to the main dining tent to get milk for the coffee. By the way, coffee in the main dining tent is free. My advice, don't pay $25 to have a pot of coffee delivered to your glamp site. The main dining tent pretty cool! The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. There is a full menu, which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is prepared onsite and is truthfully delicious. The presentation is excellent! We tried the Trout, Charcuterie Board, Oatmeal and Fruit, and the Egg and Cheese Sandwich during our stay. There may have been a couple of other items as well. There is a sunken fire pit in the dining tent that is very cozy and a perfect spot to have a glass of wine. We met a very friendly group of fellow clampers while eating dinner and drinking wine in the fire pit. So much fun! Okay let's talk about the bathrooms. Very up to date, regarding decor, very clean, and heated. Yes, they provide towels, body wash and shampoo! Just a side note, the shower head is activated by a pull chain to conserve water. My girlfriend gave her approval on the bathrooms and showers, so it's safe to say that they're top notch! You can't go camping/glamping and skip out on the campfire. Staff members lite up a campfire in front of the reception area every night. There is another at the top of the mountain! Finally, what is a campfire without smores?!!! They provide all the ingredients and the utensils to roast your marshmellows and indulge in some smores while sitting next to the fire. And "Yes" it's All You Can Eat! Lol! In summary, whomever thought of this concept is a genius outdoorsy type person! There were people of all ages here! Everyone was happy! Zion is a 20 minute drive away, so you're never bored! The view from every Glampsite is phenomenal! The overall atmosphere is very relaxing. The Stars are abundant and bright! Should I go on?!!! If I don't go back, my girlfriend will certainly go without me! Can't wait for the next trip to Under Canvas Zion! read more

I would never stay here again. Pros: Beautiful views, clear night sky, gorgeous natural surroundings. The bed linens were soft. Cons: Oh man, where to begin. 1. WAY overpriced. $1700 for two nights, is just daylight robbery. It would be worth it if they offered and delivered on the luxury or amenity aspects, but they do not. 2. In late august, it is miserably hot, like high 90s out. There is no AC. There are small noisy fans that will not cool you down. The tent was insanely hot, and it was hard to sleep. So the soft bedsheets? Throwing them all off me because it's too hot to sleep. For the price, AC should be offered. 3. Location is 30-40 minutes away from Springdale and Zion NP. When trying to get into the park early, this adds considerable travel time. 4. No cell service. No wifi. Being so far away from anything, and the price so insanely high, one could expect wifi to at least be provided. They do state on the website that it's not offered, so at least they're honest about it I guess 5. The tent itself looked stained and dirty. All the photos online look clean and bright and that's not the case. A mouse ran through the tent, it was clearly not a well sealed tent. We had a tent with a private bathroom, but the shower head was angled right at the tent wall such that it was really difficult to take a shower and get under the stream of water. Poor design 6. For a place this expensive, you'd expect more things to be included. Food is not included and it was expensive. Lunch isn't offered. If you want to see Zion national park, don't stay here. Plenty of hotels in Springdale that are cheaper, closer, better, and don't make you feel ripped off. For the price of this hotel, I could have bought really nice camping equipment and even a small ac unit and had a great time glamping on my own. read more

I really love the idea of Under Canvas. On paper it's the perfect glamping experience: The views are breath taking, each tent has hard wood floors and wood burning stoves, the main tent is beautiful, they have warm showers, there's hot coffee all day and s'mores at night, even a restaurant on site that will prep meals for you if you're hiking early. Their dinners are perfect after being out for 10+ hours. I want to rate it higher but I can't and here's why: For the price you pay per night, it's still very much like a regular drive up $15 a night camp site. As in your experience very much depends on your neighbors. Will you be around families/couples that are in bed or quiet before 10? Or will you be surrounded by groups of partiers who bring in cases of alcohol and don't respect quiet hours? My wife and I have been to both the Moab and Zion Under Canvas locations and unfortunately both times the latter has been the case for us. This time in Zion there was a group of 6-10 women sharing 2-3 tents all around us. It's impossible to sleep if you want to get to bed early and to hike first thing in he morning. You are beholden to the partiers (or kickbackers). After asking them to keep it down after quiet hours, they would for like 15 minutes and then get back at it. We had to do this multiple times. Or once they moved to a different tent, which didn't help. Around 12:30 at night (still not asleep) one woman drunkenly tried to come in our tent! Guests shouldn't have to police other guests, especially when you're paying $250+ a night. I have a couple suggestions for Under Canvas: 1 I understand that the staff is stretched thin at night but perhaps make it policy the second quiet hours hit doing a lap around the site and if anyone is being loud just give them a friendly reminder; it could go a long way. I'm sure if staff is paying attention they could hear it from the main tent. 2 Figure out a way, possibly at booking, to identify if someone is part of a larger group, a family or couple and try to sort the camp accordingly to keep the potential loud people in one area (not sure if this is possible or would even work, but hey, it's an idea). If you are an early riser that wants to get in the park as early as possible you can roll the dice with Under Canvas and have a wonderful experience ... or end up feeling super unrested. If you don't want to risk it, there's plenty of lodging closer to the park with great views too (and rooms with walls), you just won't be outside. read more

This place came highly recommended. I think the experience is based totally on the weather. We arrived late (due to roads being closed), it was totally disorienting getting settled in the dark. It is probably nice for glamping, but I was completely out of my element. No electric in the tents, they give you 2 super battery packs, and 3 battery powered lamps, and a fan. Cons: fire does not stay burning more then 30-60 minutes in the cold weather. Everytime younopen it a gush of smoke comes in. Bathrooms in the room are awful, knees against the cloth, and inches away from your partner, shower never got warm. Pretty scary drive in, out, around. We rented an SUV luckily. Closest restaurant was probably 15 min away. No cash, so bring a CC. Weird utah alcohol laws (obviously not their fault) Pro: STAFF, no joke. Best service, I've ever had, in my life. Constantly offering to golf cart you to your room, provide smores, more towels. You will never see such an amazing view. Food was decent, with free warm beverages and water all day. We stayed in a deluxe, so we had a huge comfy bed with tons of blankets. But we stayed in march (20-30 at night). I mentioned how cold the tent was, and given a propane heater. The staff, was seriously, incredible. Communal bathrooms were clean, and shower was HOT. Dont think I would stay again unless it was in the 50-60 at night. I barely slept the 2 nights there bc I kept getting up. Tip- if your big drinkers, keep your own stash, bring warm jammies and your own cell phone battery, bring refillable water jugs/bottles (only fill is sink if you have a bathroom or in lobby), bring ear plugs if your a light sleeper. read more

I loved this experience, when you still want to camp but don't want to lug all your gear on a plane. The lodge in Zion was booked completely so we wanted to stay somewhere local to hike early in the morning, it's about 30 min from the park, the drive is pretty with a ghost town in Grafton to check out along the way. The tents were immaculate and really beautiful scenery surrounding. At the campsite they can make you a carry along lunch in the morning if you order the day before. After hiking many miles it was nice to relax with a cold beer and sleep in a comfortable bed, our trip was off season in October and we stayed middle of the week, so there were no kids or loud partiers which I could see being annoying if the rules aren't enforced since you're in a valley and close proximity to each other. Anyways, our experience was fantastic we even awoke to coyotes howling. read more
