I needed a last minute screen printing job and was recommended to Sam, the owner of Under Pressure, by another local business who couldn't fulfill my small batch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can either order products directly with Sam or bring your own.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sam prefers extra time to complete a job to make sure the screen print looks and works well on your products. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately, I was on a painfully tight timeline and needed this order fulfilled in a matter of days to account for shipping as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you need a math problem, here you go: I brought in my own bags (33, Total: $2,437.00). The screen printing job cost $333.00. After completion, Sam notified me he butchered the first bag since that was the test product, that leaves 32 viable bags. When I came home, I noticed there were 3 bags off-centered; his error, not the bag's. Each bag cost around $74. Therefore, I needed to purchase 4 more bags for him to redo (Total: $296.00). So, in addition to the $333 job order + the repurchase of additional bags due to damage ($296.00), my total order was $629.00... Though I am grateful for Sam being able to complete a rush job, I wish he would have compensated for the damage and misalignments, but it is what it is. read more

I came to Under Pressure to get an order of shirts made to get the word out on a brand I'm launching. This was my first experience with a screen-printed order but I did some price comparison in the area and went with Under Pressure which I found to be significantly cheaper than some other options (plus had good reviews). I picked up my shirts yesterday and am really impressed with how they turned out. There weren't artwork setup fees like most places and they helped give advice on what type of printing to go with. I am the artist manager for an Austin based band, and we recently hosted our first music festival in Texas. Super bad customer service and They never respond to email. I email them to get an estimate, and they never got back to me. So I went to their shop to talk about my project and Sam said he could do it. He said send me the files and I'll give you an estimate and we can get it done... I sent the files that same day and didn't get a confirmation , nor an estimate. A few days after I decided to call to make sure they had my files, and he said ' yes I got your email, we're gonna get back to you next week (didn't give me an estimate). A week went by and no word from them. So I called to see what's going on, and all he said was - oh yeah we were gonna start working on it next week. They lost a customer. now I think the name under pressure might be because you're always working under pressure for your lack of communication and bad customer service. read more

I've heard about this business through their advertisement in the Alamo Drafthouse. I had an idea for a t-shirt. I printed it out and went to Under Pressure. They had a bunch of American Apparel shirts in various colors. I sat with them to see how they print t-shirts. It was a great seeing the process of how they put the design onto the t-shirt and they did a good job with the result. You can also choose a design of theirs and you can buy it without having it made on the spot. These guys definitely deserve your business. Go check it out. Random awesomeness on a Tuesday. so not totally random. I stumbled on this place by recommendation when I was looking to a print a single shirt for a friend of mine. Dug the website and was super excited about this free beer night they were going to have. Looked like a cool place. Flash forward several months to present day where I'm sitting on some free time with this friend. Why the hell not? So we head over to the screen shop to see what's up. Ok, wow. I was aware of the pricing, $25 bucks for a custom screen, plus $10 for a tee (you can always bring your own), but I was not aware of the value I would get for my money: This sh-t is no joke. Mike walked us through printing the design onto like a contact paper, ultra violet-lighting it onto the screen, washing it off in the back, then through the actual printing process. Not only was the final result ten times better looking than some Cafe Press stick on, we got a private lesson on screen printing: priceless. It was so high tech, but so low tech. Hard to explain unless you've been there. But by far the most awesome 20 minutes a Tuesday afternoon could deliver. These words actually came out of my mouth: You guys are undercharging. Maybe I'm just a total nerd, but I thought it was the coolest thing. Looking forward to going back - apparently they have free class nights! read more

I'm only giving the low rating, because for what I needed out of them, I wasn't able to get. I would only take my review to heart if you are looking for custom print work (not t-shirts), need color matching, need your work to be a very accurate size, and your work has fine detail. I'm sure that others have had good experiences as seen by the other reviews. Like I said, I wanted them to match a color so I brought in a physical sample of the color I wanted them to match. The color was technically the same color (green) but was not close enough at all. I would say on a scale of 1-10 with 10 matching perfectly, it was around a 6. I had very fine detail which I've seen done in screen printing many times before. I believe you are able to get that if you are using fine mesh screens. I have to believe that they aren't using those type of screens, because they repeatedly told me after the job was done that the fine detail I wanted wasn't possible. I had brought up before the print job that my type was fine, and asked if I needed to add a bit of a stroke to compensate. They said yes, and I did - but the finished product looked as though a 2 or 3 point stroke had been added to all of the type, when I had only added a .25 stroke. Lastly, the size was .25 off on all sides. That may not seem like a lot to some people, but in reality it is. Generally it's acceptable to be around 1/8 of an inch off. I studied the print and it seemed as though the cutting company they sent it to was forced to cut it incorrectly because the registration was off. It was centered nicely, but from top to bottom, it was off. This was frustrating because I had already created another piece to go with this one that had the right color used (I was able to color match using the same sample I had given them by just printing sample colors on my printer; the sample I was using was a screen printed piece so yes, it was doable for them to match it), and it was the correct size (I got it cut through the guys that FasClampitt sends it to). So the mistakes were even more obvious when they were together. Of course most people aren't looking to scrutinize as much as the creator of the work, but I still expected more out of them, since they seemed like a passionate shop that likes to teach. Like I said, they are probably fine for most cases, but if you want really top-notch print work, I would not go here. They were really nice and offered to reprint them for me, but I just did not have the time as I was already behind on the project. I was drawn to them initially, because they had cool posters sitting around, and were less expensive than other shops, but if you really need accuracy (there is a great amount of accuracy achievable with screen printing - I'm not saying it has to look mechanical, but it can be damn close), try someone else. If you find someone, please let me know! In response to the latest comment: Yes you did offer a reprint which was really nice, and I mentioned that in this review. However, I was still pretty disappointed in everything that happened. It seemed that even if I had the time to see how the reprint would have come out, there was very little trust that all of the mistakes wouldn't have been made again. You guys argued with me so much on the first final result to the point where you tried to make me seem crazy, rather than acknowledging the mistakes that were clearly apparent. read more
