It's still true, you win with customer service. I needed to deck out my indoor soccer team with some FAB-U-LUTH t-shirts. I'd used a friend's 2nd cousin thrice removed before but he had moved (something about deportation) and was unavailable. So I asked around and heard about these guys. By a twist of fate I was working at a coffee shop two blocks away. So I ambled on over and Sam immediately sat me down and we went to work. Very professional, very skilled at what he did. I already had a design in mind, so we went super fast. He also waved the $25 fee for setting up and designing so that was nice. Shirts were printed and ready a whopping eight days later, and that was with having to order them separately because I had to have the pretty Orchid color. Sam called me as soon as the ink was dry and I was there to pick them up a hair before closing. Great job start to finish, next time I need something quasi-inappropriate printed on a garment I'm heading back here. read more

I decided to make my own screenprinted Christmas cards this year. When my friend saw me designing them in Illustrator, she asked me who was going to prepare the screens. Prepare them? It never even occurred to me that I could pay someone else to do that! Under Pressure did all of the hard work of setting up the screens, and I got to do the easy and fun part - actually printing the cards. Great place to get custom screenprints at an affordable price. My girlfriend and I were doing the Urban Bike Assault race and wanted to get some custom shirts, Mike one of the owners was very helpful in getting our design setup and printed out. The shirts were awesome, very soft and easy to wear. Apparently they do a lot of other cool stuff with screenprinting as well. You can get posters made, and do screenprints on bags and clothing that you already own! Nice way to make something custom! All in all a great business for the Austin area! read more

Small Orders. Environmentally Responsible. Quality. Service. I needed 8 t-shirts for my business and I called many shops and they all wanted a hefty minimum fee. I was thrilled when Under Pressure Screen Printing did not require a minimum. Additionally, I had already purchased my own t-shirts because I needed a special sleeve. There was obviously little profit in it for them but I was still treated like a valued customer. When I dropped off the shirts I mentioned that I was so pleased that there was no inky toxic smell. The owner shared with me they use only water-based fabric inks over industry standard plastisol and solvent inks. I've washed my t-shirt now at least 5 times and there is no visible wear on the ink. All around great service and product. I was also pleased with the turn-around time considering I ordered at their busiest time-just before SXSW. I highly recommend this business! read more

When I don't know exactly what I'm supposed to do in a given situation, I turn into a neurotic mess. Our little festival-reviewing team of winners decided we wanted shirts to show off our Hippohonk.com pride this year at SXSW, so they put me in charge of organizing the order. This makes sense with the whole neurotic mess thing, AMIRIGHT? These guys are champs for not only helping me with my rambling, question-filled emails, but for accomplishing this feat without giving the impression that they thought I was insane. That sh*t can't be easy because, let me be real for a minute here, I'm a total weirdo. Through the email back-and-forth, they helped me determine that it was the most cost efficient to order a minimum of 25. So, we did! Here's what I like about them: - Very helpful and very quick to respond to emails! I have a phone phobia AND a day job, so sneaking into conference rooms to figure all of this out on the phone would have been my hell. - No minimum order! But, if you do get more than 25, they'll wave the screen setup fee. - Colors galore! Thanks to Under Pressure, we'll have a rainbow army of Hippohonk-clad hipsters roaming the streets during SXSW, promoting the glory that is our moderately self-aggrandizing festival review website. - Quality prints! I was already familiar with the quality of the prints because I was referred to these dudes by my fake brother/kickball co-captain. They've been doing a stellar job on our kickball shirts for the past few seasons, and they certainly didn't disappoint with this round. They print on Bella/Canvas brand (or American Apparel), so they're soft and cuddly. - Good turn around time! We wanted the shirts by March 12, ordered them Feb. 28, and they were ready to stow safely at Hippohonk HQ on March 11. I wore my shirt to the office today and I'm already getting requests to purchase them, so we'll definitely be back to order more. I will continue to apologize for my neurotic shirt-ordering ways with homemade vegan cookies. Because that TOTALLY makes up for it, right? read more

Buyer beware seems to be the philosophy here. If you (or your clients) care about the details, try a different shop. My job was botched, and after I couldn't get a partial refund, I pulled the job and started over with another printer at my expense. I won't be trying them again. read more
