I had been working on my deck all day long and decided to come in to get a paint sprayer. Perry helped me out. I picked up the paint sprayer. Went home, watched YouTube videos and put the thing together prop it and by George, it would not work. So I decided to take the whole thing with the deck paint and the box back to Lowe's and there was Perry. When I tell you he went above and beyond I am not exaggerating. Here I am with this contraption full of paint asking for help and he did with a smile. He worked on it for over 20 minutes and found it was a defective nozzle. He was patient and kind. So as I'm standing there tired, sunburnt and covered in paint I smiled because he took the time to help me out. I have nobody besides google to help me and it was a blessing that he was there to help. I've been places before that don't even acknowledge you and this was amazing. Thank you Perry for helping me. I'll make sure I fill out the survey. You deserve a raise!

First problem was the lack of prices on the items in the lumber area. Went for help three times then gave up and pulled off one of what I needed and carted to the front for a price. Then I planned to use my app to scan items so I could have them pulled. The app would not work, so we gave them the list to look it all up. Took about 25 min but we got the order in and were thinking we could wait while they bring it out. Nope. They said it would be ready before closing. Ok, so home we go. We get a notification it's ready, but then it is was not where anyone thinks it should be at the store. One of the service guys was visibly frustrated and he was the third service guy we worked with. The two guys that came out next to load us up were great though. Very nice and knowledgeable. We had to go back again due to an error when we were rang up. The woman that helped fix it was also great.

At the beginning of May there are plenty of flats with individual pots of vegetables and flowers. One thing I have found is don't count on the stake in the pot to be correct as to general plant category and the specific species. For example you might find a tomato plant with a Poblano Pepper stake and a pepper plant with a Beefsteak Tomato stake. Obviously if you know anything about plants you can tell this is wrong. However if you want to purchase a cherry tomato plant and that is what the stake says don't be surprised when it starts bearing tomatoes that it's a Roma tomato, etc. Once it gets to be June or July all the outdoor plants begin to look quite sad at the garden center because there is no professional upkeep. Some plants get marked down because they lack water needed. Other plants have taken a beating from being knocked over etc. The prices are fair but similar prices can be found at Lowes or other hardware/farm stores. Lowes tends to have plants that have better upkeep because they have employees that are designated as Garden Center employees. I have to admit I have gotten some real good deals on plants late in the growing season but I usually only do this for perennial plants that will grow for multiple seasons. For this reason I can give Walmart a Three star rating otherwise I would tend to give it a two Star rating.

They usually have a pretty good selection here and the prices are more than competitive. I'll check back next week when it is supposed to be much warmer.

So my mother-in-law and I made the short sojourn to Shelbyville to check this out. And what we found were indeed some great prices if you took it all in. For example, you can find knickknacks for $12-$20. Rugs for $50-$500. Furniture pieces for $150+. And mixed in are some definite higher-priced pieces. One of the associates told us that the owner works directly with furniture manufacturers, and many of the pieces are from high-end brands -- you just wouldn't know it because the branding has been stripped. And the quality seemed to bear this out. There are several pieces that I'd love to have in my home and that look like they would last for decades. I ended up buying some ceramic peaches for my mantle and some orange dried pampas grass for a floral arrangement. I would definitely go back if I had a certain furniture need in mind. In the meantime, it's definitely a fun place to browse. Plus it's easy to get to right off I-64. Oh, and one more thing: It's right next to Jeptha Creed Distillery and Talon Winery. Make an afternoon of shopping and imbibing!
