We love coming here! They have a wide array of things... from Under Armor clothing to a plastic roller ball for our pet rat (true story). We lovingly call this place redneck Walmart. It's not the fanciest store. What they're lacking in aesthetic, they make up for in variety and prices. They carry house hold supplies, hunting gear, tools, animal stuff, you name it. I'll also add they always have really good prices. I've gotten some absolute steals there! read more

PROS: It's close to home Carries a little bit of everything under the sun Appears to me to have advertised specials in stock Check out has always been prompt and courteous CONS: The parking lot is usually congested The store is large so it takes repeat visits to know where things are located Yesterday, I hit the jackpot in my quest for bird seed, suet, and feeders. When so many stores are low in stock I was able to purchase everything I wanted in preparation for the Great Backyard Bird Count. read more

This place is EPIC! You can get your riding lawnmower, overalls, baby chickens, and guns all at one shop! Carhartt's, caulk, and critter food, oh my! This place is a country girl or boy's wet dream! There's hunting stuff. There's fishing stuff. Plus, the tubs of cheese balls were on sale!!! Seriously though, this place pretty much covers all of your rural homesteading needs. Only gripe was the layout was sort of crazy (then again, the place is huge), and a number of the emloyees, while pleasant, either seemed to really not want to be there or were busy taking personal calls on their phones... But, for someone like me that came from a small farm, and hopes to put in a garden and start raising some chicken in my new, rural, Kentucky home... this place will come in real handy. I was shopping for a Dewalt 60v weed trimmer and seen rural king in Shelbyville Ky had them for $269 so I drove their (which is 40 minutes from me) when I got to the store I seen they where 299 so when I was checking out I told the lady at the desk that the price online was 269 she said it's cheaper online bc if you order online you are responsible for shipping so I went back online and seen it was free shipping! So I called customer service and she said in the disclaimer online it said prices online may not be the same as in store. So at that point I would have paid $500 for the weed trimmer just not from them! So I went to the Georgetown store to return it and I told them the trouble I was having and they told me that wasn't right and they would honor the online sales price. The Georgetown store is a great store to work with. But I will never go back to the Shelbyville store again! If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I'm in love! Rabbits, chickens, saddles, OH MY!! What's not to love, it's amazing. I can feed my deer, my dogs, the neighborhood cats, catch a possum with one of their trusty traps. Speaking of, how about a trap for a hunky man? Lol!! And don't forget the free popcorn! read more

Multiple bad experiences here. They required prepay to purchase a case of their regular stock item soft drink, promising to call and never calling. Associate answering phone sends calls to wrong department because she is more concerned with putting caller in hands of any other associate, even without understanding the product inquired about, than gaining clarity about which product. On wait 8 mins., got hung up on , call back 15: 30 in as writing for stock to be checked on a soft drink. UNACCEPTABLE! Store management needs to get their sh*t together. read more

Rural king is great place. Shop here often for clothing. Furniture and food items. The store has been cleaned up exceptionally well. For awile it was a wreck whenever I would go in. Just recently went and it was greatly organized and clean. read more

If it was possible to give zero stars, i would. The employees are RUDE. They make you feel like you are inconviencing their personal conversations with the other workers when you need help finding something, which would probably be easier to find if the store was organized and clean instead of stuff just thrown in random spots. Stuff is never priced in this store. I dont see how this place is still in business. read more

This place is a disaster. How they stay in business under the current management is beyond me. Chaos and disorder run rampant in every isle and every checkout lane. It is much much cheaper than Tractor Supply but it's worth paying the extra money to be able to find what your looking for. A new store manager could fix this place. read more
