Very cool little shop that seems out of place in Smithville that carries a great selection of punk and metal t-shirts, accessories, posters, pins, stickers, vinyl, and paraphernalia. Loved hearing the punk music blasting out the front doors, and the reactions of the typical older waspy suburbanites walking by. Too funny. Of course we had to go in and check this place out. Plenty of odd and unique stuff in here, some with a NJ twist. Fairly priced too. Worth a visit if you're a punker or into the more darker realm of music and oddities. read more

I honestly thought this place was meh. The store had some cool Jersey centric merchandise there, but everything else was underwhelming. This is a store you find down the shore for people who just got into punk and they only listen to basic boring punk bands. It just Misfit, Social D, and whatever else is "cool". I doubt bands like Discharge or Abrasive Wheels would be well known there. The vinyl is also way overpriced. Most of it was basic stuff you find at as used vinyl shop for 5, not 15-20. It also not a lot of punk and mostly thrift store stock vinyl. Place is ok if you just got into punk just last month. read more

Very cool spot oddly located in Smithville Village. Nice selection of metal and punk clothing and accessories. Owner is a very nice guy. While I am no kid, (at least according to the calendar), I have spent my whole life listening to and have played with some of the great metal bands of our time. I love the music and it's hysterical to see the faces of some of the older visitors to Smithville as they wander into the store and hear the music blasting. The "what the hell" looks on their faces is priceless!! Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area! read more

This store is truly a gem. I've found some of my favorite pieces that I own from here. They've seemed to encompass everything about New Jersey and put It on garments and lighters in the most unique way. My "We don't like you either" shirt with the N.J. symbol has gotten an insane amount of complements and is truly a conversation starter. This store is indeed the greatest find in Historic Smithville, if not in South Jersey period, if you are into the so-called Alternative / Punk Rock Lifestyle. No, no this isn't a head shop nor a place of devil worshiping. Rather it is a store chock full of great clothing, music, handbags, pins, posters, bandannas etc., that cater to music. The music maybe a little loud for some but that is simply up to opinion. I for one absolutely love the music. This store reminds me of a store I grew up with in North Jersey that was known as TWO-TONE! It also reminds me of stores I frequented in the 70's, 80's & 90's in NYC's Village. They also hold several events throughout the year including one that just passed Saturday 9/11/16, that was an ArtWalk which had over 75 Artists selling their one of a kind quality art themed items. Then they had special guests including Mark & Mark from Weird NJ Magazine and followed up with a musical rockabillly performance in the Village gazebo by the amazing band Full Blown Cherry! Last but not least, the true greatest part of Underground are the owners. They are the nicest hardest working people you will ever meet and have always greeted my family and me with huge smiles on their faces and make us feel like we are truly a part of the Underground family! If you like Alternative music or even happen to be an old Punker like me, check them out. You will not be disappointed. Btw their handbags are a major hit at my daughters' college campuses and the prices are really fair. read more
