Everyone I've interacted with here, from professors to counselors, the student club representatives, to the people who run the family resource center have been nothing but patient and helpful. I truly feel that everyone here is rooting for the student's success. I honestly don't know why more students don't choose to go to city college in order to maximize their chances of going to a top UC. Just compare the acceptance rates, the numbers don't lie. I've taken courses here and the teaching, technology and resources are second to none. For context, I'm a non traditional student so I've attended a number of educational institutions previously, so I have multiple data points for comparison.

A man here by the name of William Chow (who says he is a student there, but I don't believe so)…read more and as well as several staff members harassed me for an entire semester while I tried to take some trade classes to look better for employment the following year. Their insistent poor behavior entirely robbed me of any opportunity I had going to this class. William would always get a staff member, anytime I was about to begin any serious or project work - even though my instructor approved such the first week and since I met the prerequisites elsewhere and estimated all the work needed to be done in conjunction with classwork ( that's what's so sad about them as "teaching professionals" as they allow certain students to do whatever and I wasn't even allowed to do my classwork - maybe a quick intro on shop tools could have been offered but even I had to pry that basic shop safety information out of another student - no one but one felt obliged to speak up and offer any common courteousy given what they overheard already about my background....just saying....thank you) I think he was looking for other things in me, which added onto the conflict and is an additional problem on his behalf, again - not mine (talk about pedo creepy). I lost so much money in investing into this class and waited a very long time to finally take the class. One of the instructors that egged on this treatment I saw about a year earlier to ask about this particular class only offered here and he was even rude as hell then about it. Commuting from Santa Clara every class and sometimes additional days to make up work the harrassment by them got so bad that I no longer wanted to attend classes. They did not make me feel welcomed or valued there whatsoever. I already finished my bachelors at a very well established school, and that is why I feel the petty instructors at these subpar programs are solely there to drive us insane and keep us entrapped. The truth and sad truth to them all. Even taking these classes at no credit, might not prevent how petty the instructors at these programs are. So sad.

This school is different. The students do group projects and the whole program is very project…read moreoriented in general. The kids have to make numerous presentations and graduate able to address a critical audience who give feedback. Some programs like Project Invent are evaluated by heavy hitters in industry and yes that means Silicon Valley. The student body is every diverse and the faculty and administration are passionate about what they are doing and we like it so much there wasn't a question where our second child would go to high school.

Unforgivably the school is out growing itself, I hope they can keep it together. Once the children are done earning there way into the school all the military stuff is out the door. UPDATE: The school is going through alot of growth as well as physical building growth (2013-2016) that has has civilian staff changes that are noticeably bad and has us parents having to keep up with all the changes. Knowing class size has increased with the campus and the consistency of maintaining disapline is lacking; but then I'm a former Marine. They don't push military enlistment; however, graduating from there counts as a R.O.T.C. It is a Certified college predatory and over 75% of graduates go on to a college.
