Had the best beer and burger here in a long time...celebrating my finish at the Boston Marathon!! Great place to stop. I walked in with my Boston jacket on and everyone cheered and clapped. Felt like I was walking into my home town bar (kind of like Cheers)!! Loved it. I had the Mushroom and Swiss Burger and it was cooked perfectly. And the fries were awesome. Others had the Bacon BBQ burger and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and had equally rave reviews. The guys got spicy fries and loved them (the gals thought they were a bit too spicy). For the neat freak beer nut who wants to run with the locals, staple yourself to a stool at Union Brewhouse. Upon entry: "Oh man, are you kidding? It's just a Weymouth pub. Great." Upon peeping the extensive brew list, including 20 taps and 99 brands bottled: "Um, what? This is, like, a micro citra hopped in the seedy underbelly of Bowling Green, Kentucky. How are they carrying it here? I bet they charge $10 for a pint... Upon seeing the prices: "... it's only $6? A ROUND ON ME, MY BROTHERS!" Upon drunkenly reviewing the menu: "Deez hannles aren't gunna love themselfs away, yknow? I would like a salad. A Caesar salad. With steak tips annuhnuther beer peez." Upon being rejected: "Okay an oranje jooz peez." Upon sobering up following a montage of folic acid: "Holy shit, this salad is big, fresh and crisp, with tender Romaine and a lemon-heavy dressing that works well with the 6oz of sirloin, seasoned and seared atop the bed. (Editors note: the kitchen sends out slightly under temp. Order up a level.) And it's only $12? That's a meal. May I have one more pint, my good sir?" Upon backsliding in to a lightning fast inebriation: "Somemuddy call me a cab. I'm gunna go to Cennuhfolds!" Upon receiving a backhand from your fiancee: "More oranje jooz peez." Just a really outstanding brewhouse with well above-average fare and a dynamite tap rotation, earns them an easy 4.5 stahhh. Ask about the plaques on the wall! read more

Nothing out of the ordinary here, except for being one of the only South Shore bars to feature my favorite summer brew on draft-- Wachusett Blueberry Ale. And yes, they throw in about 20 fresh blueberries before pouring. A smidgen tart, crisp and only slightly sweet, the trip here is worth it just to give this ale a go. Plenty of other beers to choose from as well (100 bottled, 17 on draft). Food is your basic bar food-- burgers, sandwiches, etc. If you've picked up a case of the late-night munchies, Union Brew House has a special 'midnight menu'. There's a nice patio in the back for warmer months, and a fireplace inside for the cold ones. Service is always fast and friendly. Just a terrific cozy pub! read more

Upon arriving in Weymouth (yes, if you live there - I'm now your neighbor. You're welcome), I made it my mission to start trying out local spots to find my new "regular". I do believe I've found it. 99 beers on the wall, literally, but a fantastic (and well-priced) rotating draft list as well. Sidled up to the bar on a Sunday night and found myself surrounded by an eclectic mix of clientele. Some regulars, some 20-somethings, some sports guys hitting up the Golden Tee in the corner, and a couple of the dudes that semi-creep you out while they nurse a single beer, by themselves, in the corner, while staring...seemingly at you, but perhaps also through you...somehow, at the same time. The menu features standard pub fare, but it is well done. The plain chicken wings are super crispy, cleanly fried, piping hot and delicious as is. We ordered BBQ sauce on the side for dipping (great, tangy BBQ sauce), but the wings hardly needed it. Tried the pizza...perfect size, not burned at all, great taste. The cheeseburger was flippin' awesome. I ordered it medium rare...it came out rare. So, if you aren't into your meal mooing, you should probably order up as they do tend to undercook a little. The burger meat had great flavor. So good...and so juicy...that I didn't actually use any condiments (no ketchup, no mustard, no mayo...NADA). I inquired about starting the 99 Club, but they are currently re-doing the list as a number of breweries are being removed as they cannot get the beers anymore (e.g., Bear Republic...sad face). So when I go back (and I will...), I'll officially begin my quest to become a member of the 99 Club and get that plaque on the wall! read more

Will keep this one short because well not much to say. The people of Weymouth dont have many choices for beer bars so when I see reviews that say "best beer bar" and best beer list" I giggle. Its pretty run of the mill in terms of the modern day beer bar, head to Flynns Irish Pub, NOSH or Speedwell and get better food and just as good and in the case of Flynns a better beer selection. The bartender was about as knowledgeable about beer as my mother. I asked about his thoughts about an IPA and I got the cliche and cop-out response of "it's balanced"...WTF really? His personality sucked and he spent all his time talking with the lush downing vodka and soda waters than making sure his guests had been taken care of. If you're a budding business owner looking to open a beer bar on the South Shore then open it next door to Union Brewhouse and then in six months buy their land for more parking. read more

Pretty good food here. The burgers will satisfy your craving. Spicy fries are awesome. Place is pretty small with about a handful of high top tables and you seat yourself. About a dozen beers on draft and then a 99 bottles of beer on the wall list. Only downside, it gets loud in here and you almost can't even hear yourself talk unless you are shouting. but with our 4 beers and 2 burgers, our bill came to $40 not including tip. So decent prices. Parking can be tricky but overall a nice neighborhood place to get food, drink good beer and watch the game. read more

The real reason to walk in the door is the extensive beer selection at an insanely reasonable price. I've yet to find a better price for a fresh craft pint. Fresh is the word for sure, I've been lucky enough to have a pint of Be Hoppy here that was less than a week old. This place is homey, and you should expect everything that comes with it. Casual and relaxed, which is what craft beer is all about. Don't come in here thinking you'll get Ruth's Chris service, especially when it's busy or there is a sporting event on TV. The food is great. I look for a healthier solution that isn't just a salad at a bar. I get the chicken caesar wrap, ordered with blackened chicken and no dressing, and substitute fries for roasted carrots (which are my favorite part of the meal). The steak tip salad is also very good. Lastly, they have a 99 beer challenge. A beer from each one of their selected 99 breweries, finishing will get you a plaque on the wall with whatever message you like and a t-shirt. read more

Came in with a black DJ friend who's very popular down on the Cape. Nobody really seemed interested in seating us, found a table with some leftover coasters and some water on it. Asked if we could sit there, "Sure, go ahead" Sat there for a bit. Waitress ran a bill, walked past us, made eye contact with a table that clearly had just been seated, and walked past. Walked past again. Walked past a third time over to another table with some frat boy types and started chatting it up with them instead of acknowledging us. I've waited my share of tables from private catering to Red Lobster and it takes 5 seconds to say "Sorry folks, I'll be right with you" We weren't even granted that courtesy. She openly made eye contact with us and kept walking. And by the way, if you can't tell, I'm white. Maybe because he was the only black man in the place? I don't know. In fact, I almost never leave Yelp reviews, but we were starving and thirsty after a long day and this establishment could have taken advantage of that, and instead ignored us. Considering that this DJ is currently involved in a federal trial involving six white police officers beating the shit out of him, I found this behaviour to be quite suspicious. We just wanted some beer and some food and I planned on leaving a huge tip. Instead, we came in, were ignored for over 10 minutes, and went over to the Asian restaurant across the street where we were sat immediately, given a menu and asked what we want to drink. I left a $7 tip on a $20 bill. The bartender barely spoke English but spoke to us more than anyone at the Union Brew House. Your loss. The only thing brewing at the Brew House is #racism read more

Great for any craft beer enthusiast! Good bar food. The crowd is a mixed bag with people of all ages. The place is very non-aggressive, like it's mostly locals but you can still feel at home because everyone is friendly. For instance, one night I came and there was a teachers outing. If you're a regular you need to get the 99 beer on the wall card, it has 99 different breweries on it and once you drink every beer you get a plaque on the wall with what ever you want to write on it. When you are drinking you have to read them because some of them are hilarious. Like I said tons of craft beers, good bar food, and good at home drinking atmosphere. Great place. read more

Food was to be expected -- standard bar fare, i.e., greasy, cheesy and devoid of any nutritional value. With that said, it is exactly what I crave when I'm coming in for a few afternoon beers and appetizers. We went with the nachos which were decent. They had LOTS of cheese on them, which isn't a complaint, but under the pile of cheese, there was little else. Some jalapenos (which I dig) and I think some tomatoes? We had chili on the side and I found that to be A-OK.. perfect for dipping chips but probably wouldn't order up a bowl by itself. So these stars are really for the atmosphere and the beer selection. Yes, they have 99 bottles of beer available as many reviewers have mentioned but they also have a pretty great (rotating they say) draft list. And the atmosphere? Divey/sports bar/townie place yes but still cozy and comfortable at the same time. I'm sure the "scene" is different in the evening but at 2 in the afternoon on a holiday Friday, it was pretty much a mixed bag -- 20 somethings, 30 somethings and on up from there. I'm still giving it four stars for the beer selection, but I just have to give a head's up to anyone thinking of going here that the regulars here kind of blow. I went the other night with a friend and we sat next to these loud trashy bimbos with their meathead boyfriends doing shots (WOO-HOO! @6pm btw), playing videogame golf (YEAAAAH! I GOT IT IN!!!) and stuffing "hitz" from Jammin 94.5 onto the jukebox. I've been here a few times and sadly this can be the norm. But I guess the bar is in Weymouth, so that's to be expected. I'm a lifelong resident so I guess I can get away with saying that. The food still blows too, sadly. But the beer selection still makes up for that. read more

In a town where every bar's beer menu is sadly Coors, Bud, Miller, and Sam this is easily the best beer selection in Weymouth. It's a little cramped, the regulars can be loud and annoying, and the food is not good (burgers are sketchy)...but I don't know what I'd do without this place. Only place around where you can have any type of beer you're craving (Try getting a porter in August in any other bar within a 10 mile radius). Maybe I got spoiled with all the varieties of beer when living in Boston, but Weymouth/Quincy/Hingham's bars are SO boring when it comes to beer. No creativity whatsoever, so again thank goodness for this place. read more

Cozy, friendly little bar. The beer selection is wonderful and, at least during the winter, the gas fireplace is welcome. The waitress was prompt, friendly and helpful. The food is run of the mill bar food (thus the four stars) - this is not a put-down, but simply a fact being stated for the review. The atmosphere was local bar and relatively comfortable - if you want to be in the crowd, there's room for that and if you want to be out of the way, there's room for that!! All-in-all, we liked this little place and will return again soon as I suggest you do if you're in the mood for one of 99 beers and some filling bar food!! read more

We were very excited to see this bar so close to home and popped in for a quick dinner. NOT impressed. The service was seriously lacking and the food was unexceptional. I probably shouldn't have expected too much given that this is obviously best suited as a bar. We were really hoping to find a diamond in the rough where we could have a decent meal without having to think about where to go, and we were disappointed. From the outside, "The Brewhouse" as it's known by the locals looks exactly like you think it would inside. Small with limited seating, a few flat screens, a digital jukebox and your standard peices of Boston Sports flair. That is until you get the beer list. A few reviews mention the beer selection was "decent". If you consider 99 different beers decent, than it's exactly that. The next you notice is the very attentive staff that have a great knowledge of the beers and an even better memory. Then menu is extensive and very good... for pub food. You can't go wrong with the Union or Buffalo Chicken Pizza and the burgers are always a big hit. Great after work, weekend night pre-game, or Big Game sports watching. Tends to get busy so personal space is a premium but if you can snag a spot at the bar, settle in for the night. read more

Ordered the brew house steak tips for two via Yelp/Grubhub. Delivery was on time. Both orders of steak tips were extremely dry and had no flavor whatsoever. One order was rare and the other medium rare. The side orders were good which were tots, onion rings and broccoli. read more

I've been a here a few times with friends, and we find it to be extremely relaxing to just chill out on the patio. This place has 99 bottled beers, and about 15 beers on draft. I love the watermelon beer here! I've had a few appetizers, including their original nachos with chili and their chicken nachos-- both quite tasty. Their pizza was also really good...a little greasy, but decent for bar food. :) Average beer prices ($5-6), but I like to treat myself once in a while. I'll be back here, for sure. If I lived near this place I'd be here every day...seriously. The fact that it has 99 beers is great and it says to me that they take beer seriously. I've yet to have them all and I probably never will but I do love trying new beers and this is where I discovered one my lifes great loves, Flying Dog Pale Ale. Try the BBQ Pizza or the Marguerita Pizza. You will not regret it! The place is always busy, but it's ecclectic mess of folks including the meatheads and yuppies previously mentioned. There really only two downsides here: It's small and the parking blows. However, during the summer the patio doubles the size of the place and the plaza across the street provides more parking. read more

I just moved to Weymouth and was happy to find this little diamond in the rough. They have a good selection of beers, a nice patio area and a relaxed environment. The place is well kept and the prices are reasonable. The only complaint is that it is a bit small and can get rather crowded at times. If you live in Weymouth and don't want to drive into town, you could do much worse than the Union. Don't confuse it for a nice bar in Boston... but considering some of the horrible bars around that they compete with is why they get four stars. read more

The way amazing beer selection (no where in the south shore has a better beer list), awesome jukebox and amount of tvs around the bar make this neighborhood "dive" stand out among others. Bartenders are quick and efficient no matter how busy. Great place to grab a few beers and apps to watch a game. That being said... The food is just ok. The pizza is often undercooked and under a pile of cheese which makes it soggy and doughy. Ask for it "well done". The fried apps are pretty standard - salty, greasy goodness. Parking can be a huge pain and may result in a game of human Frogger with you trying to cross Rt 18. With the Bruins game on, The Gaslight Anthem on the jukebox and a "well-done" pizza, this is definitely a place worth checking out. read more

We were happy with the beer selection.. but I don't recall what the prices were. We were able to get a table for the five of us on a Friday night but not too long after Golden Tee stole the show. Great craft beer list of bottles and decent on tap- mostly IPAs so some variety would be nice. Had the cheesy bruschetta which was huge and tasty. Service was attentive ! Don't be fooled by the front of the building. It looks like a dive. Inside everything looks fresh, clean and welcoming. The walls are decorated "eclectically" with police department shoulder patches from, I would guess, more that 200 departments. Also very noticeable are goofy plaques, many of which are worth reading. If you are a beer lover, they have a good selection of drafts, and a huuugge selection of bottles. The service was excellent. Bar pizza is overpriced and average. Chicken Teriaki is a good sized order, with big plump wings. Problem, they are way too salty. read more
