Pepperoni Pizza

My boyfriend and I absolutely love the Red Rose! The staff, especially Jared, is wonderful and personable! It has a cozy and warm ambiance, and we always find a seat at the bar. I've come here countless times and always have an amazing time! Best bar in Weymouth!!!!

Great bar pizza, very nice staff. Kind of intimidating walking in but everyone was very friendly. One of the best bar pizzas I've had in recent memory. Cash only.

This is the entrance. This is not a hostess stand, don't be fooled

Wow, this place is a little gem in Weymouth. Its a little hard to find, as it is off of the main roads. NB: Cash only!! So my husband likes to smoke brisket, ribs, etc on the weekends, and we love making pulled pork in the crockpot. However, we don't usually do all three at once, so when we went to check out Red Rose, we were super-excited to see a combo plate with all three, plus fries and coleslaw for under $20. It was enough for us both. The food was amazing. The pulled pork was really the stand-out for me, but I love it so I might be biased. My husband thought the brisket was pretty good, and brisket is sometimes a difficult meat to smoke. I like a little bit more of a crunchy bark on the outside, but I thought it was good. My husband thought the ribs were great, but I didn't try any because I wanted to avoid the mess. If you go in or check the website there is some more background on the chefs, I guess they do BBQ contests and are pretty successful. The bar itself was teeny tiny. The poor bartender was our waitress also, I hope she has some help on the weekends. She was great, though. There are some locals hanging around, but don't be intimidated.

Guinness, very tasty!

Best bar pizza in the south shore area! The drinks and atmosphere and service from the bar staff in here are always great.

Good neighborhood place. Great deal on twin lobsters... $12.99. However no sides were served with them. :(

Came to McGonagles on a Friday evening before we had to attend a wedding. We wanted to grab a bite…read moreto eat and a drink as we weren't sure what the spread was at the wedding. We were advised light snacks so figured we should probably get a base before heading that way. We walked in to the coolest Irish pub that opened up in the back. It was way bigger than I expected. We quickly ordered drinks and I ordered a Moscow mule (my go to). It was in a copper mug and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered a beer, which he enjoyed too. We ordered some oysters and corn ribs for an appetizer. I had never had corn ribs before and was pleasantly surprised. My husband and I split the fish and chips and I'm really glad we did. The fish was extremely large and almost filled the plate. It was crispy and delicious. It was definitely well made. The sauce on the side was even better, too. Highly recommend this place for a quick bite and a pint.

Super relaxed atmosphere and tv's, so it would be a great place to watch a game. Friendly bartender and the fish and chips was good. They also have pizzas that looked great. My friend had a pesto with burrata and she said it was awesome. They also have gluten-free pizza, whihc is good to know. Our table neighbor had the pork chop, which also looked great. They have a small parking lot, which would fill up quickly. We went on a very "off" time, so we were able to park in that lot. Otherwise, you'd need to find street parking.

See my separate review of this wonderful musical performance. The Scarlet Oak Tavern is situated in an historic colonial house that has a fireplace and outdoor seating. The atmosphere here is always charming, wide plank wooden floors, cozy rooms, and plenty of them, and a charming bar. The servers are always polite and smiling. I have been here many times over the years with many different people, friends and family and it is fairly consistently wonderful. I don't recall having a bad meal here ever. There is a lovely room that has a fireplace when you first enter the establishment. It is especially nice in the winter when the fire is roaring and we have a toasty drink to make everything extra cozy. However, it is equally pleasant in May! My sister and I shared several appetizers, which together constituted a delicious meal for each of us. We ordered an appetizer called Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ Ribs that came with four very meaty flavorful ribs. We ordered two separate sides of the delicious mashed potatoes that they serve at this establishment. We also ordered one very large crab cake appetizer we ate the crabcake first. We then placed the ribs on top of the mashed potatoes with a couple of the delicious pickles that were served with the ribs. It was absolutely scrumptious. See the photo! For dessert, I ordered a flourless Flourless Chocolate Cake with crumbled peanut brittle served with a generous scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. The cake was moist and delicious with almost a rich pudding consistency inside it contrasted amazingly well with a flavorful crunchy topping of peanut brittle and a smooth cold refreshing mound of ice cream. In a word this dessert was as maddeningly delicious as it sounds. Highly recommend!
