Perfect spot to go to for a dinner right before a concert. Located right in the heart of Union station (by York Concourse) and conveniently close to Scotiabank Arena and Rogers Centre. Chicken & Waffles: Sweet and savoury the perfect balance. The portions were quite good size that will leave you full. The chicken was quite juicy, crispy and had a bit of a spice kick. My friends also had a great experience with the fried chicken sandwiches and the poutine so maybe I'll try that the next time I visit. Highly recommend getting reservations in advance (especially for concert or game days) as it does get quite busy here. The prices were quite reasonable given the location and food quality. Overall, highly recommend this spot if you're looking for reasonably priced food and nearby main venues.
Chicken and incredible service make this the first stop on the line for Union Station. Dined here in the evening and enjoyed every minute of it because the delicious dishes were supported and lifted by the incredible customer service I've rarely seen in the last 5 years. All the staff should be commended and treasured because they showed they care and put so much effort into treating their guests with kindness and attentiveness. There was many times where different employees came to check up on the table, clear away empty dishes and ask how we liked the food. They were on top of everything the entire time. The food shines with its seasoned dishes and perfectly cooked chicken. The short ribs were delicious with a splash of lemon, bringing a bright, savoury taste. The buffalo chicken sandwich (with coleslaw) was absolutely amazing, perfectly breaded and cooked and wasn't overpowered by the buffalo and blue cheese. It balanced the flavours well and delighted the palette. The coleslaw side wasn't overly wet but tangy and paired well. The restaurant itself felt like stepping into a hip, vibrant eatery. You can't believe you're in union station. Definitely stop here before heading to the train platform. I know I will again and again.

This restaurant is in Union Station and only serves chicken...fried, rotisserie or in sandwiches or salads. (They also have chicken & waffles.) I ordered the rotisserie 1/4 white meat which came with fries, a Chipotle sauce for dipping and the natural juice from the chicken, although it didn't need it. Somehow the chicken was juicy not dry and also seasoned well. I ordered a side of the Cole slaw to try it but the fries were so good that I barely ate much of it and could have saved the $8. (There's only one size and the meals don't come with it.) It was an enjoyable meal and even their house made iced tea that comes in a mason jar was delicious. When in Toronto again I would definitely return.
It's my third time at this restaurant that features chicken dishes and each visit has been pleasant, with my most recent one topping the last. It saved the day when I was starving after a networking event with barely any food. I needed to eat something quick before hopping on the GO train and I try not to turn to fast food if I can help it. Service was fast and friendly.
Stumbled into here while going around Union Station before attending a concert. Love the ambiance in here. Staff are very friendly. Girlfrd and I got the UC Classic Poutine , Cod Fish Tacos & 1lb Chicken Wings. The poutine was mouth watering good! Cod fish was battered perfectly. Chicken wings were very goood! For sure coming back again if I'm in the area.
One of my favourite sit down restaurants near Union station for work-related meals. It's delicious but also has a relaxed environment, and the menu can please most people. The price is also amazing for the quality and portion you get. If you have a Presto card, you can get a further 20% your bill which goes a long way. At my most recent visit, it came out to under $30 a person (including tax and tip) for a main and a beverage, in some peoples' instance. It is very hard to get that in Downtown Toronto nowadays! I've tried their fried chicken before, but I opted for their roasted chicken this time instead. The portion for the half chicken ($26) was massive and I definitely could have gotten away with the quarter! The taste was great and I appreciated the somewhat lighter meal. It looked like my coworkers enjoyed their fried chicken - the portions were so big that most of them had a takeout box full. The service was also great and we felt well taken care of during the busy lunch rush.
Prices don't make sense. The plate be the sandwiches. The kitchen and service is a bit hectic. I can't say I really enjoyed my last visit here. Sat at that chef counter and they looked stressed. Not a good energy.
I was initially pretty excited to see this new place come into Union as it would be a great option before going to a game in Scotiabank. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. Ordered the OG Fried Chicken Sandwich (22). I informed them that I had a nut allergy and to check with the kitchen if it was good to order this. They got back to me that it was no issues and went ahead with preparing it. It got to the table and I was taking pictures and waiting for my girlfriends order to arrive before eating. Then the server comes back and takes it away saying that the sauce had nuts in it and that they need to remake my order without the sauce. Incredibly fortunate that I did not take a bite first but also extremely unprofessional as I had informed them prior to ordering. Definitely left a sour taste in my mouth and didn't really enjoy the sandwich when the new one came out. Not pleased and won't be eating here again. :(
Their Fried Chicken is fantastic (dark meat and thighs!) and their sides are good tasting and portion. Their Lobster Roll was also very good. Their Desserts are another story, continually disappointing. Key Lime Pie was not good. Crust wasn't very cooked and fell apart. The key lime part tasted cheap, not the good quality type of pie. Mochitini looked nothing like the photo on the website and was a lot smaller than pictured. Not enough coffee in it either. Service was friendly but hard to get a hold of for stuff and they didn't stop by to check in either.
Stopped by for their summerlicious menu and had a great time. The staff were very attentive and the portion sizes were huge! Highly recommend the cinnamon donuts. They were very warm and freshly made. The key lime pie lacked the actually crust and was mainly filling. The fries were really great and on the crispier side. The chicken sandwich was very large and crunchy.
Was there on a game night for a pregame dinner. Jam packed at 6:30pm. Food arrived at my table quickly but it was impossible to get wait staff's attention to ask/ order more condiments after. They were all really busy. You get what you get and eat/drink. Had their fried chicken many times so this time I ordered rotisserie chicken. It was good but nothing spectacular or anything. However my partner ordered OG fried chicken plate with sweet heavenly buttery gravy. It was perfect. I ended up taking fried chicken from their plate. Next time nevermind healthier rotisserie chicken, I will stick to my fried chicken. Also ordered a side of brussels sprouts, it was served a little burnt all over. I understand to be "charred" to have nice caramelized flavour, but it was bitter & burnt. Next time I will order salad instead. If you want to watch sports in a loud restaurants and good fried chicken, go to Union Chicken.
This restaurant is located above union food court, and it is good place for lunch. Bring my son to the place during lunch time, ordered fried chicken platter 4/5, fried chicken sandwich with fries 4/5. Service is good and fast, although they are a busy restaurant.
Grand opening promotion giving away 50 free chicken sandwiches at lunch time and at dinner time! One day only (that's today). Service was efficient. I found too many peppers in my sandwich but otherwise, it was really good. $6 for the OG sandwich for the rest of the day. Counter seating available and of course plenty of seating throughout the space. read more

Love this spot so, so much. Super flavour chicken, 0 dryness I've experienced. Service is usually pretty quick considering the location. If you're stopping at union whether it's to get to Pearson or hop on a via rail, you're not going to be disappointed making a pit stop read more

Made a reservation on OpenTable and was seated right away. Great service! When we asked her for her opinion on certain menu items, she gave us an honest answer. Love that!! The food was great. We were stuffed! Chips and guacamole, wings, OG chicken sandwich, creamy coleslaw and corn bread. All were excellent. Wings were a little small, but that's the only complaint I can think of. We came for the game day special. $20 for any sandwich + fries/coleslaw + pint of draft beer. I got the OG chicken sandwich which was so juicy and crunchy. Def a solid burger. The deal runs on any day that has a game playing (not only when the game is on), and they have lots of other specials for happy hours, game nights, daily deals etc. It does get very busy before a game so make sure to make a reservation. Service was great and food came very quickly. read more
Ambiance could be better. It's so loud we had to almost yell to hear each other. Service was quick and efficient. Food was surprisingly good lol I wasn't expecting that. My roast chicken was very moist. I had the leg but still it was juicy. I upgraded to the roasted brussels sprouts and I'm really glad I did. They were super yummy. My friend got one of the fried chicken sandwiches. I can't comment on how good it was. I ate a little piece of just chicken bread and it tasted fine but it must be the combination of all the fixings that make it taste really good because the chicken itself was just OK. Now , I went in 2024 September and they are giving out a 20% off your bill with your PRESTO card. You might want to check PRESTO's website to see if it's still happening. It's not advertised at all at the restaurant. Would I go back? I thought it was good enough to return. And it's one of a few places that's open for dinner. I'm i'm sure I would've found more open if I'd gone outside. But I was in the underground. read more

We came on a Wednesday and took advantage of the daily special of 5 pieces of chicken and two sides for $40. So worth it as it was more than enough for two people and we had to take one of the chicken pieces home. Large juicy moist chicken in a crunchy batter. Love the addition of maple syrup, hot sauce and peppercorn gravy to dunk our chicken into. Also came with pickles and white bread. For sides, I would highly suggest the coleslaw to cut through some of the greasiness. Ambience is very pub like, with loud music overhead and dark lighting. Once you are inside, you can't tell you are sitting in Union Station!! read more
Ate here on a friday for a pre-game meal with gf before watching the raps vs jazz at scotiabank arena. We didn't make reservations and the host at the front told us the wait would be ~20 min. Only had to wait about 10 min before being seated. O.G. chicken sandwich: The chicken had a nice crispy crust, super moist on the inside and the honey sauce it was drizzled in was KILLER. The fries could've been crispier imo (I was surprised these were already triple-cooked. They tasted single fried). 1 lb of hot honey wings: These wings were actually SUPER underrated. I read a lot of reviews saying that the wings would be tinier due to being free-run chickens. Not the case. These babies were PLUMP af. A ton of meat on them and not overfried. The spicy mayo dip was also much appreciated. Double leg rotisserie: It was dark meat so kinda hard to eff this up unless you overcook it to the moon. The chicken came w/ gravy which was great. The chicken was tender. The sweet potatoes could've been cooked longer and a lil bit softer but better than the triple cooked fries imo. Overall, the food was undoubtedly good. The PRICE however, practically robbery and it's the reason I just can't give 5 stars. Inflation has become a real thing lately, but EVEN so, in no universe should a chicken sandwich cost over $20 (it was a godly chicken sandwich don't get me wrong). That felt like robbery. I was skeptical about a pound of wings being priced at $18.50 but honestly speaking, I felt that the wings were better bang for buck than the sandwich (still pretty egregious as a pound of wings uptown, like York Region would be ~$13-15/lb but I understand downtown pricing). At $22 for a double leg, I felt the sting (really felt that they should've kept this to around $17-20) but I could see why $22 could be justified. Apparently the ultimate chicken platter used to be $45-50 as well but it's now $75?? Service was decent. Our waiter was a funny guy. After tipping I realized I had basically spent ~$100 folks. For that reason, I can't in good conscience award a 5 star rating to this place. The 5 star value isn't there for me. I'd definitely be open to returning and trying one of their specials though as the food WAS good. read more
I generally don't review places twice, but in this case I kind of have to because my first review doesn't even mention the chicken. We were trying to pick a restaurant after a couple of hours at the Auto Show and we eventually decided to go with Union Chicken. I was in the mood for a fried chicken sandwich, so the OG Fried Chicken Sandwich ("Slaw, maple honey, UC ranch, banana peppers, pickle") seemed like a no-brainer, and I got it with a Southern Coleslaw ("Carrot, sesame seeds, red onion, sweet mayo") on the side. It's a really good sandwich. All the components complement each other really well, and the crispy, fresh fried chicken ties the whole thing together beautifully. The soft bread is the perfect vehicle, too. The coleslaw is also quite tasty, although I suppose I could've used something zesty to elevate the slightly one-note concoction (like hot sauce or some pickled onions or something). I'm really glad we stopped into Union Chicken. It's so much better than I remembered. read more
Love this place! The food is great. Right in the heart of Union Station it is in one of the concourses ofc the main hall. I had the 2 piece of chicken with gravy and a side of sweet potatoes. If you are not a big eater, do think of sharing the side of the combo with someone. My friend had the Chicken and Waffle and it looked darn tasty. It's next on my list! The food is incredibly tasty though and if like fried chicken, do go. Note for GTA residents - if you show your PRESTO card, you get 20% off the meal. The place is always hopping, so if you go during core dining hours or before events/games downtown, you will find it hard to get in! Enjoy! read more

Well, looks like I found my spot for a pre game meal before any Leafs or Raptors game! Since opening in Union Station, you can always count on Union Chicken for a hearty meal after a long train ride, long day at work, or before a game/concert! Whether it's their rotisserie chicken or fried chicken, you can always count on excellent quality for their menu options! The People's Choice Poutine is a great balance of sweet and salty tastes. The Black Pepper Gravy is a nice complement to the sweet honey glaze on the fried chicken for a great bite! The O.G. Fried Chicken is a nice balance of sweet and spicy which does not ruin the crispy texture of the fried chicken. In addition, Union Chicken offers great deals on drinks such as $5 beers! I can't wait for my next visit! read more

One of my favorite restaurants on our trip to Toronto. The service was great and servers provided a great explanation and suggestions of menu options. The fried pickles and spicy chicken, rotisserie chicken and fries were also very good. They also offer great happy hour options. read more
Anyone who enjoys chicken must eat here. I highly recommend the O.G. Fried Chicken Plate shown in the picture here. Large portion, could easily be shared. The magic here is the Black Pepper Gravy with the added Maple. It sounds odd, but it really works. Also, the spiced croutons on the Caesar Salad are to die for. Honestly, the best chicken I've ever had. Service is lightning fast, super friendly and they know all the details about every item. 10/10 can't recommend this place enough! read more

Located right in Union Station, a great spot to grab delicious Chicken, love both their fried chicken and rotisserie chicken. They have lots of sauces to choose from and really good sides. I came here for lunch in my work break with a friend. Everyday there is a special deal, and Tuesday has the Ultimate Chicken Platter for 50$. It has roasted chicken, fried chicken and chicken wings with four sides. To conclude, that is a lot of chicken. However, the fried chicken has more bread than meat, the roasted chicken is very dry for the white meat, the wings a well seasoned but more on the skinny side due to it being free ranges. All in all, Costco has much better roasted chicken, Popeyes has much better deep fried chicken. Therefore, I don't think it is a very good deal. If I am to hang out with friends, I will choose a better place with food of acceptable quality. read more
