The DJ played dance music throughout the hour+ long stay, the place was packed with cheerful patrons, and the dancing was non-stop. I would have posted a video of me dancing, but I'm certain, that I would lose my Elite Badge, plus Yelp would demand an apology added to this review. Our Bartender crafted strong and well presented drinks (Strawberry Margaritas and Red Sangria), tended to us with a smile, and we appreciated her humor. If you're in the area of 55th Street and 7th Avenue on a Saturday afternoon, don't hesitate to visit Vida Verde. You'll have a fabulous time and return for more. P.S. - Vida Verde also serves a delicious and affordable weekday lunch special, which I have enjoyed and highly recommend.

This place is way too overstimulating. Not sensory friendly at all. Whenever I enter this venue,…read morethe music is too loud, the lights are blinking, colorful strobing, etc., and the food is subpar. The Security guards are always rude too. Drinks are good and strong, which is cool, but combined with all the above, it makes for explosive d******* or vomiting Their rooftop garden is cute, but no view your completley surrounded by buildings on all 4 sides, and you can't order food up there either....

A Must-Visit NYC Gem: Incredible Music, Food, and Energy! If…read moreyou want the ultimate New York City night out, Prohibition is the place to be! We had an absolute blast from the moment we stepped inside. The whole experience--from the warm welcome at the door to the high-energy live music--was 10/10. The Food Experience: Truly Next Level The food here isn't just "bar snacks"--it's a full-on culinary experience. We tried several dishes and honestly, every single one was a hit: * Grandma's Sunday Sauce: This was the star of the show. It's pure comfort in a bowl and tastes like it's been simmering for days. * The Bacon: You can't go wrong here. It's perfectly prepared, smoky, and dangerously addictive. * The Burrata: So fresh and creamy--the perfect way to start the meal. * Crispy Shrimp: These had the perfect crunch and were packed with flavor. The Vibes & Service The host set the tone right away with a great welcome, and the service throughout the night was seamless. It's rare to find a spot that balances a sophisticated "speakeasy" atmosphere with such friendly, attentive staff. And of course, the music! The live band was electric and kept the energy high all night long. The "Roaring 20s" vibe is so well-done--it feels intimate but exciting at the same time. Final Verdict I would definitely suggest Prohibition to everyone! Whether you're a local or just visiting the city, this is the spot for great food, amazing service, and a vibe you won't find anywhere else. We'll definitely be back for more!

They had live music which was also so much fun! We sang along and enjoyed our drinks and food. My husband got the braised pork shank and I got the grandmas sauce pasta dish. DELICIOUS!! We had the lamb and burratta with truffle fries to share- also to die for. We ended the night with some espresso martinis for a sweet ending. Amazing food, great service and entertainment. Definitely will come back! Ask for Ty! Best server!!

The live band was great, the vibe was lively, and people were actually dancing instead of just sitting around pretending they're "listening." Food was good, service was easygoing, and the best part: zero pressure. They have a minimum spend, but they don't play games with it. Hit the minimum however you want, drinks or food, your choice. Other places love to force both, which is basically a tax on having fun. Not here. Why not 5 stars? The place is a bit dated. Our booth was literally held up with tape and the cushion situation was... let's call it "vintage springs." I heard they're planning a remodel, and if that happens, this becomes an easy 5. Until then, it's a very fun 4 and I'd absolutely come back.

Most of the clubs we saw were more for eating/drinking while listening to music but didn't offer the dancing component. If you want to just listen to the music while enjoying your food/drink then sitting at the bar is free. To sit in the back area where the band and dancing is, there is a $15 cover fee. We didn't order any food and my friend did order some drinks but I'm not much of a drinker so I can't comment on that. We enjoyed the music and watching the regulars dance. A couple regulars were very nice and brought us out onto the dance floor to show us some simple moves! Unfortunately this place is closing at the end of December. It's really sad that it is going away as the regulars' described it as one of the places in the city with a dance floor where you can actually dance to the live jazz/swing music. If you are in the area before they close and want to spend some time away from the busy city definitely stop by here!

It is a large space with tons of games, a decent-sized bar, scattered tables, and plenty of TVs. I went with a friend and we spent most of the night bouncing between games while meeting others from the event. We played giant Jenga, pool, darts, and foosball. There were a few other games we did not get to, and I would have loved to see knock hockey to really channel some childhood nostalgia, though not sure if they have it. We both ordered cocktails. I had the watermelon margarita, which in hindsight was not the best choice for December. It was fine, clearly made with mix, and about $12 with happy hour pricing. We also ordered food. I got the chicken fingers with a side of fries, and both portions were generous and came out hot and fresh from the fryer. I would recommend Slate for a group hang or organized event. It is especially fun when the games are in full swing, and it seems like a good option if friends are visiting for the weekend. I believe they also have a DJ on some weekend nights, which could add to the vibe.

They always do the conga line doing the cha cha step dance lol I love coming here in groups or on a date. There are photographers who come around and ask you to pose for a picture by yourself or whoever you're with, they guide you with the poses. They later come back to show you the picture and offer them to you for a price. They will have a frame available. The service depends on the waiter you get, for the most part they are friendly. I only had one bad experience that left a bad taste in my mouth.. the first time I came the waiter packed up our cantina rooftops mugs for no additional price so I assumed that when you order specialty drinks that come in mugs like that they are yours to keep as a souvenir idk we didn't ask him for those mugs..so on another occasion I asked my waiter if I was going to get that mug to take home at the end and he was very nasty and sarcastic about it, he said sure if you pay for it. The answer wasn't wrong but the look and tone he gave me was out of line without knowing just coworker gifted me and my group our mugs on another occasion. One bad fruit isn't going to ruin this place for me, I definitely recommend you give this place a try. I love their tacos and drinks. Everything I've tried so far has been great.
