After my dog passed away in 2020, I knew I wanted to rescue a dog next. After extensive research, I came across NDLB and was instantly pulled in by their mission and fight against the dog meat trade. When I applied to adopt, I was shortly contacted by someone from their adoption team who was very responsive and so pleasant to answer all my questions. My dog was located in China at the time, and I was extremely impressed by how transparent they were throughout the entire process. They sent tons of picture and video updates to all the adopters with dogs in transport once they were on the road. It was incredible to also see how much the team cares for the dogs... one of the workers even rode and slept in the back of the truck (might I add it was the dead of winter during a snowstorm) to keep the dogs company and make sure they were okay during a several hour ride. I've now had my dog for a year now and I'm definitely biased but he's the best and everyone who meets him loves him. Of course you also have to expect to have to potentially put in work considering the unfortunate circumstances the dogs have been through. All in all, I would highly recommend adopting and supporting NDLB because everyone on the team is so passionate about the welfare of the animals.

I adopted from NDLB about a year ago! Thanks to them I now have my furever family member Brian!

Got to adopt my dog Braven (now named Maverick) and it was the best and easiest experience. Thank you NDLB for changing my life. Truly appreciate it.

I had the privilege of adopting a wonderful dog through this organization. NDLB was very organized with all the paperwork needed for my dog's flight from China to NYC. They also have a very caring and passionate staff.

    Harlow

I rescued my Dog Harlow from No Dogs Left Behind in Oct 2022 after we had lost our senior dog. My good friend volunteered with this wonderful organization that rescues dogs from horrible conditions all over the world. Harlow was rescued from the illegal meat markets in Yulin, China. She has the sweetest temperament, smart, loves people and gets on great with other dogs. She came with all her shots, spayed and microchipped. I can't thank them enough for all they do for these sweet babies. Harlow has been an amazing addition to our family. Thank you!

My wife and I discovered No Dogs Left Behind in 2020, and were impressed by their dedication to rescuing dogs from utterly horrific conditions in the meat trade, as depicted in some of the videos on their website. We have adopted more than one dog from NDLB over the last few years, and have fostered for them, as well. The adoption process, especially during the Covid outbreak was complicated by rapidly changing rules and laws on importing and exporting dogs both in the US and China. These frustrations (not the fault of NDLB) were greatly eased by the professionalism and accessibility of the staff, who kept us updated with regular videos and photos of our survivors, and were always available to answer our questions in a private chat group. From my experience adopting multiple dogs through NDLB, they run an efficient and effective operation, rescuing, providing emergency and routine medical care, housing, adoption, and transportation of the animals in their care. Their adoption fees are not the lowest to be found, but I am satisfied that they provide the funding for the necessary services they provide. Further, given the time spent with the dogs every day by caring volunteers and staff who help the dogs learn to trust and love humans and each other, the cost of adoption is a bargain. Having met with Jeff, the founder of NDLB on several occasions, including at the NDLB sanctuary in the US, I can attest to the passion he and his staff have for their animals and their ongoing mission. The adoption coordinators, Brandy and Liz, worked so hard to get our survivors to their new homes across the world, and I am in awe of what they were able to accomplish. This is definitely an organization you can trust to do what is best for their animals, and to provide excellent adopter care from start to finish.

We adopted our Bunny aka Braveheart from NDLB and it's the best decision ever! The adoption process was very organized and easy. Volunteers are very nice people. They were in contact with us updating on our pet at all stages and following up later. This is a great organization to adopt and save a pet from. Our boy is just an angel, he's so adorable. He appreciates the new found love and care and we see how loving and grateful he is we love him! It was definitely worth it. Thank you NDLB and all of the volunteers!

    Trio

    Iron

No Dogs Left Behind is an amazing organization with wonderful people who truly care about dogs. Thanks to them I have my best friend Iron who is a six year old chocolate lab. The process of adopting a dog from China is made easy with NDLB. They handle all the paperwork and logistics for getting the dog you adopt to you. I'm so grateful to this organization for bringing Iron into my life. If you want to make a difference and save a dog, NDLB is the organization to make it happen.

Humans are welcome, of course, but let's be honest--we're the main attraction. Over the years I've visited for several events, including an Italian Greyhound meetup and most recently the World Pup Cup. There's always something happening, whether it's movie screenings, comedy shows, trivia nights, breed meetups, adoption events, or seasonal celebrations. The atmosphere is welcoming and community-focused. It's the kind of place where you can strike up a conversation with another dog parent in line and leave with a new friend. They offer treats and food for dogs, drinks and snacks for humans, and regularly support small pet-focused businesses by hosting pop-ups and showcasing new dog-friendly products. It feels less like a café and more like a community hub for NYC dog lovers. One thing I especially appreciate is how many different dogs you get to meet during every visit. Whether you're social, shy, young, old, tiny, or enormous, there's usually a pup here who wants to say hello. If you're looking for one of the most dog-friendly destinations in New York City, Boris & Horton should absolutely be on your list. Dogba's verdict: Unlimited sniffing opportunities, plenty of fellow pups to meet, fun events year-round, and a rare place where dogs clearly run the show.

I had the absolute pleasure of being helped by Ann, she is the epitome of "great customer service", she was extremely knowledgeable and helped me get formula and bottles and I also purchased a can of kitten pate. Ann was kind enough to take me to a counter in the back to allow my kitten out and provided me with a paper plate and fork and allowed me to feed my little baby bean since he hadn't had breakfast yet. I had a kitten before but it was more than 20 plus years ago so all the advise she provided me was beyond helpful. I went to this location on a whim and glad I did she was so helpful. I didn't get the cashiers name but she was very pleasant and friendly.

This last time was terrible. She is elderly and does not like other dogs. We stressed this. We made sure to feed and walk her before the appointment. Groomer answers with another dog in her hands. We had to tell her our dog is nervous. She puts the dog away. We say our good byes. FIVE HOURS GO BY before we get a call that she is ready. I come to pick her up and the groomer answers with the same dog in her arms. When I tell her who I am there to pick up, she insists my dog is not there. I implore her to check and then she comes out with my dog who immediately pisses herself without even squatting. She does not seem ok, so I quickly took her to a cafe next door to get a water bottle. She is gulping the water too fast and throws it up. So I start only letting her have small sips. We made an emergency appointment at our vet. They did blood and found her to be so severely dehydrated that it did serious damage to her kidneys. Mind you, she was just at the vet getting her shots and they did bloodwork and her kidneys were at healthy levels. They believe Petsmart withheld water for the whole 5 hrs to keep her from needing the bathroom, a practice that should never be exercised on elderly dogs. She now needs twice daily iv treatments and medication. Don't take your dog here if you care for them. This is abusive in my opinion.
