I've been to some clubhouses in NY. Recently I went to a Harmonie Club for an alumni event. They booked a good size room for about 75 attendees. I love events because they try to serve good (if not great) hors d'oeuvres. This time it was a great one. We had a panel discussion followed by a networking event. The interior of the clubhouse is peaceful and cozy. The lobby's quiet and quite small and the logo can be found all over the clubhouse. It's a clubhouse and not a hotel, so you don't always see people. "I see dead people!" I'm kidding! I'm kidding! The service was of course excellent because professionalism is their utmost importance. My friends and I enjoyed the hors d'oeuvres although I didn't get to take the photos due to my hands being occupied with a plate and a drink, sorry! But I enjoyed the hors d'oeuvres.

I had a great time at the Summer kick off event . The host was gracious the venue was gorgeous. The club itself dates back to the 1800's which in it's self makes it so much more alluring. I loved the different food stations set up from the Mac n Cheese , fries , Crab cakes and taco bar to the veggie burgers , beef burgers and salad bar. There was an assorted cheese and fruit station and finally but definitely not least the candy and ice cream station. Everything was oh so good !!!! The event also had caricature stations for the guest which was added fun to a wonderful night. Applause and more applause to the great band that played last night - you guys rocked !!!!! Thank you to the great host of such a memorable event .

We had a fabulous time at brunch here. The service was on point. The staff was friendly and always there to assist with anything we may have needed. My first stop was the omelette station. They had three different cheeses to choose from, different meats and vegetables. I got goat cheese with spinach and mushrooms and really enjoyed it. The chilled shrimp cocktail and lobster claws and tails were incredibly fresh. I happen to like tartar sauce with my seafood, but they only had cocktail out. They called the kitchen and by the time I sat down at our table, I had a dish of tartar sauce waiting for me. This is a members only club and I had the pleasure of being invited to brunch. This place is a true gem.

Water and excellent bread arrived immediately and the waiter was helpful describing dishes and giving advice. Salads were fresh and crisp. Caesar was nicely dressed and the mixed salad was a nice combination with well balanced herb vinaigrette. Seafood dishes had large amounts of fresh seafood and the veal picatta had the lemony flavor you expect without excessive acidity. Dessert was tasty and innovative. The ricotta based cheese cake wasn't as smooth as the cream cheese form but the citrus flavor was great. Throughout the meal water and bread were refilled, plates from completed courses removed and next delivered without being overly hovering. All in all a really great meal.

It works especially well for a mixed group since they have plenty of options including dishes without meat and everyone can find something. Even my picky niece and nephew were happy. My favorite entree is the Capellini Puttanesca, with capers, olives, basil, and anchovies. It's super tasty, satisfying, and the perfect portion. I also love that they offer wine by the glass and the service is consistently attentive. The waiters are always moving through the room, checking tables, refilling water, and making sure people have what they need. It's good, reliable, and near Broadway. I first ordered the crispy spring rolls, which were very good. For my main I had the Massaman Curry. Now folks, this is my favorite curry of all time -- actually one of my favorite foods of all time -- and while it's common in LA where I used to live, it's not as common where I live now, in the Bay Area. And the restaurants that do carry it usually do not make it right and it's not very good. I am used to Massaman in the traditional preparation where it's more like a beef stew made with chunks of beef and needs to cook overnight. When done right it is the most aromatic curry ever -- it's almost like an aphrodisiac! -- and the beef comes out oh so tender. Usually if places have this curry but then offer a choice of protein, then it generally is not cooked properly, and that is actually how they prepare it at SaiTong. But because of such great reviews I decided to take a chance and try it. Well, let me tell you, it was definitely not the norm...it was absolutely delicious! I had it with chicken (they serve breast as default), and the chicken soaked up the curry really nicely. I also asked for there to be no onions, which I think alters the flavor of a curry too much. It does include the traditional potatoes and peanuts, and the potatoes were fine and cut into nice little chunks, the peanuts actually were thrown in raw.. what I think is the more traditional way which is to actually burn the peanuts a little bit, but that's okay, it didn't take down the dish any. Their brown rice is of the very dark kind, which I like, and goes so well with the curry. Service was wonderful from the bartender but was also provided by the rest of the staff and everyone was so nice. I left there feeling so satisfied, and cannot wait to go back and try some other dishes.

The energy in the restaurant was a lot more vibrant than I expected, and honestly, the excitement from everyone around us added to the overall experience. To drink, I ordered the Caribbean Mule. It was refreshing, flavorful, and definitely packed a little punch. A solid cocktail that got the night started right. For food, we ordered the beef fried rice and chicken wontons. The beef fried rice was delicious and came in a generous portion size, making it easy to share. The chicken wontons were also well prepared and packed with flavor. The standout dish for me, though, was the ginger beef noodles. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the beef was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Easily my favorite item of the night and something I'd order again without hesitation. Service was another bright spot. The staff was attentive throughout the evening, and our servers were always quick to help whenever we needed anything. Even with the restaurant being busy, they stayed on top of everything. The one disappointment was the truffle fries. I've had better truffle fries at small neighborhood spots. They lacked both the flavor and presentation I'd expect from a restaurant at this price point, especially compared to how strong the rest of the meal was. Overall: Brooklyn Chop House delivered a fun atmosphere, great service, and some standout dishes. Between the energy of the crowd, the ginger beef noodles, and the attentive staff, it was a memorable experience. Just skip the truffle fries and put that money toward another appetizer or cocktail.

For an appetizer, we got the 'Chili Crisp Shrimp' which was Drizzled & Served with Spicy Ginger Chili Sauce. These were delicious; especially the sauce. For an entree, I got the 'Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese' which was Roasted Tomatoes, Vegetable Stock of Onions, Garlic, Celery, Carrots, & Herbs. Served with a Buttered Grilled Cheese Dipping Sticks. It was just okay - nothing more, nothing less. The cheese was not melted and it was all just okay. My husband got the 'Smashed Burger' which was two 3-ounce Angus Beef Patties, American Cheese, Onion, Buttered Bun with Smash Sauce. Served with French Fries. He loved it and thought it was great burger. This place was pretty pricy. I don't think it was worth the $90 something dollars we spent. The service was quick and friendly. I don't know if I would go back. If I could give it 3.5 I would, but for now I will stick with 3 since the grilled cheese and soup could be have been better.

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.
