I used to really like union, but this past year I'm not sure what has happened. Their coffee is always off. I recently switched to matcha. I've tried it at Union three times and unfortunately it has been consistently dull in color and very chalky in texture. I love matcha and was hoping for a smoother, brighter cup. For $8, I expected better quality. I bought it this morning, dumped it when I got to work and got another one somewhere else. I ordered an iced lavender latte and I couldn't taste the lavender. The coffee is strong tasting, but still better/less bitter than Starbucks. Friendly staff, one to take the order and make the drink, and another to take payment. Union has one of the best tasting coffees compared to other coffee stands I've been to and they're only located right down the street from my house, which makes it really convenient when I'm on the go. The only downside to this business is their customer service. It's honestly a gamble on whether or not I'll be receiving good or bad service depending on the barista. Sometimes they're friendly and quirky, other times they'll have a cold demeanor and it can be unsettling at times. Okay, now, I don't expect Dutch Bro's level of customer service because they will go ABOVE AND BEYOND their service and will talk to you like they haven't seen you in five years, but even the bare minimum is fine for any business, at least for me. read more

I have been going to Union coffee several times a week for four years and it is amazing. Wonderful coffee and very friendly staff. So why the one star rating? Long story short, I had a baby 5 months ago who is immune compromised. Yesterday I decided to treat myself by going out for a drive to grab some coffee from a place I trusted. I pulled up to the window and was shocked!! Neither of the women working were wearing masks. As I watched them make the person at the window across from me coffee, without pulling their face coverings back up from around their chins, I decided to leave without ordering. I get some people don't think COVID is a big deal and that's fine. Your body your choice. You do you outside of work. But when you work in the food service industry and handle hundreds of people's food/drinks everyday, you better freaking wear a mask! Like I said, great coffee and staff. If you don't think COVID is a big deal, disregard this post. If you do, I hope this review helps someone with a immune compromised baby or an elderly family member. If the owner reads this and actually cares, I was there November 8th around 1pm. I say this so you discuss proper COVID precautions with the team that was working. read more

We were driving back from a hike in Granite Falls and wanted something hot to warm us up. Driving through Lake Stevens, we spotted this drive thru coffee stand and pulled in. There wasn't a line or anything since it was early afternoon. My concerns are about failing to subscribe to the rules regarding hygienic food and drink handling. Management should revisit the importance of handling cash and then using those same filthy hands to add ice to a cold drink AND popping in the drink straw touching the end of the straw that would next meet my mouth. I will say I haven't had a bad drink there and I visit there often. The quality of the drinks and food are consistently good but I will ask them to remake my drink if I see this disregard to the rules that each employee is aware of when they received their food handling lessons. read more

I had heard great things about this coffee stand and it's multiple locations from friends, and know many people who frequent religiously. I had always wanted to try but there is always a line. One day, I was by a stand and there wasn't a long line so I decided to bite the bullet and give it a shot. I ordered my normal drink, an iced breve vanilla latte, which I usually get at Starbucks. The drink I received from Union was DELICIOUS! I was blown away by how different it tasted from Starbucks and how much tastier this was. I also had my pup with me and they gave him a HUGE puppacino with dog bones on top. I was very impressed with my experience. I visited each day for the next 3 days (until I left on vacation) and will definitely be back more once I get home! I miss this coffee! The only thing I was bummed about was that they didn't do punch/stamp cards. If I am going to be a frequent visitor, I'd like to have some sort of enticing promotion/reward system. Health Hazard - at least three times in the last month I have watched a barista feed dog biscuits from their hands directly to customers dogs, and then not wash their hands before going back to handling drinks, payments, the coffee machines and other food items. This despite the fact the the dogs clearly got their tongues and saliva on the barista hands. When I asked them about it when it happened directly in front of me. the girl just flat out lied and said "You can't prove it. Where are you going to get your coffee then if you don't come here?" I have a dashcam that recorded these incidents and shows it quite clearly. read more

This place is really hit or miss. Some mornings, you get a nice barista and a good cup of joe... Other mornings, you get someone who is not personable, and an undrinkable mocha. I order a quad shot, white coffee, white chocolate, and caramel mocha with nonfat milk and 3+ times now... It comes back tasting like its watered down with out flavor. Maybe they made it an Americano instead? I don't know but because I've worked as a barista before, I know how my coffee should taste and I get really disappointed when I can't finish the beverage I paid for because it doesn't taste the way I know it should. I continue to come here simply because it is the only espresso stand on this side of the lake before you get to the freeway... I mean, its incredibly convenient for a location. I went in today and I got a blonde girl that I'm pretty sure is one of the managers. She was so incredibly rude when asking me what I wanted to drink and she never kept a conversation going which seems weird for being a family friendly stand. I do not think that someone with the attitude she had should work in a family friend stand, especially be a manager if she was. Union on 20th in front of the Trestle Station is my go to location-Union coffee has a large assortment of beverages and food for my whole family! I always choose an americano, my husband loves the mocha and my kids love the smoothies and Italian sodas. The coffee is smooth and not bitter. I usually see them with Smith Brothers Milk products which makes me happy they are using another local company for their milk. The baristas are friendly and quick. The one on 204 is the best coffee stand I've ever been to, and I've lived in Seattle, Shoreline, Everett and Marysville. These baristas are so incredibly fast and produce consistent high quality drinks. Same price as Starbucks but 1000x better. Again, these baristas are amazing! I went back to tell the lady and get a different drink but she looked confused and said that if I don't get a drink with cold foam it should be alright.
