Gotta start by saying what a great set up they have here for people who work from home. There are great tables on the first floor to work quietly and then they have an entire second floor dedicated as a co-working space! It's super bright and modern, and definitely conducive to a productive few hours. On top of that, they have a great range of drink options. I got the Sweater Weather latte with almond milk and it was delicious. Service was great too. I also loved the amount of outdoor seating they have at this coffee shop. I love the location with outdoor tables and shaded patches. I didn't venture upstairs, but space indoors seems fairly limited with one reservable big group table and restroom in the main downstairs area. Nice that they have an outdoor window, too, for those wanting to not leave the fenced in yard. Did notice how the fencing is not 100% complete, however, so I would hesitate before letting your dog off leash. I appreciate any place that is openly welcoming of diversity so I am hesitate to rate it three, but that was my honest opinion. Slightly disappointed in the actual tea. I got an Arnold Palmer; it didn't mix well and was pretty bland. Outside of breakfast tacos they don't have a lot of savory protein options. So if you come for lunch or later in the day and you're hungry, be forewarned. That's what happened to me. Just a tiny cheese and nut pack as my protein option. So while I think I might go back when I'm next in town, it's not my new go-to spot as a result, and I wouldn't drive out of my way for it. read more

Yesterday I decided that it was time to switch my morning routine up, and instead of making my morning coffee and breakfast at home I visited @uniondallas. Let me start by saying the vibe in this coffee shop is amazing. The indoor setting is very modern and fresh. There is a small little conference room that can be used to host a private meeting, but there is also open space with a few tables and chairs that you can use to work by yourself or with a friend. Not only is the indoor setting pretty cool, but this coffee shop also has an outdoor space that is to die for. The outdoor space has picnic tables, a stage,I assume for special performances, and a walk up ordering window. The best part about the outdoor space is that it is DOG friendly. Now that I've set the scene, let's get into what I ordered. Personally, I'm a croissant kind of girl so I went with a warm ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was very flaky and had just the right amount of ham to swiss ratio. I also ordered a hazelnut iced coffee with oatmilk, and friends when I tell you it's time to put the st*rbucks down, I mean that. This coffee was very fresh and did not lack flavor in any way. @uniondallas offers various milk substitutes so that's also a plus for my dairy free ladies and gents out there. Overall, I would definitely suggest visiting @uniondallas if you get the chance even if you're not a coffee drinker because the vibes are immaculate. Love the vibe of this place! It's in a convenient location if you live around the Uptown/Oaklawn/Turtle Creek area. It's a very quiet cafe, with lots of outlets so it's great for doing work. They have a lot of variety in their menu. They have the basics, plus a seasonal menu, delicious pastries and breakfast tacos. We tried the almond croissant and it was AMAZING! The barista offered to warm it up for us, and that is definitely the way to go. It was the perfect amount of flaky, chewy, and sweet. Would come back just for this!! We also tried 2 of the taco deli breakfast tacos. They felt freshly made with good ingredients. They also offered 3 types of salsas (mild, medium, hot). The Freakin Vegan was my favorite, and I'm not even vegan. It had beans and avocado, but had just the right amount of salty and fresh. The Vaquero was also delicious! I'm not much of an egg person, but still enjoyed it. It tasted like an omelette wrapped inside a warm tortilla blanket. The veggies I side of it were very fresh and refreshing! For a drink, I asked for a London Fog and the barista offered to make it with Paris tea instead of Earl Gray. The Paris tea had a similar sweetness to honey but there were strong notes of berry. It was the perfect tea for a London Fog on a chilly day! It was a little more watery than what I usually like, but it might be because I asked for Oat Milk I stead of Whole Milk. I'll try it with whole milk next time. The barista was very kind, attentive, and helpful. The area itself was very calm with plenty of seating, inside and out. I've been going to Union for a while since living downtown and they're my go to coffee shop! Some things I've noticed: - Friendly staff! Based on my interactions with them + seeing them banter with regulars, you can tell Union is being run by wholesome people. - Range of seating - the first floor is the *loud* floor all the people meeting for conversation stay down here. The second floor is quiet. You can pick where you wanna go :) when it's nice outside, you can even sit at one of the numerous the picnic tables if you wanna take in the outdoors. There's also two private group meeting rooms you can reserve (however, I've never done so so I don't know the process ) - sometimes limited seating/parking towards peak hours: I've noticed the parking lot can get full at times, so if you live very close, I encourage you to walk or use the DART bus. If the weather is not nice (ie peak winter + summer) I sometimes find the shop crowded and hard to find a good place to plug in my laptop. - Solid drinks: I find Union's menu very decent. I like their mint matcha, seasonal drinks, and other speciality drinks unique to Union. - Slightly limited food options: my previous regular place had a wider variety of food, so my judgement could be clouded. Bakery items are served all day, but breakfast tacos are only served til 11. But they're soooo good! I wish I could get them later in the day but they don't serve past a certain time to preserve freshness. - COMMUNITY: above all Union is amazing for bringing locals together. This is what truly makes them special. They host some regular and one off events, ie game night, open mic that are open to anyone, which aren't things a lot of coffee shops I've been to have offered. I'm staying in Dallas, and the tiny AirBNB I'm residing in has no space at all to work (or eat for that matter). I've been scouting out locations to work, and this is for sure my favorite. It's aesthetically pleasing, makes a delicious Americano, and has plenty of options for indoor and outdoor seating. What's not to love?! They've got a few pastry options if you need a snack as well. One of my favorite coffee shops in Dallas! They have great coffee and drinks - I LOVE the matcha mint with oat milk. Downstairs is great for working with more white noise and chatting or catching up with friends, then upstairs is very quiet and perfect to focus! I would have to say that I love this coffee shop! It was cute and had such a great aesthetic and vibes! It seems like it was an old home that turned into a coffee shop with a good amount of seating both inside and outside. I ordered a lemonade and unfortunately they didn't have much lemonade left and so they even gave me a discount because they had to put a little extra ice to make up for it! I thought it was so genuine how they handled the situation and I was really impressed at how honest they were! So this is one of my favorites coffee spots and probably my most visited! I've been following this place since they were up off of 75 near University and I hate to say it but I'm so glad they moved! I'm an Influencer and a full-time Events & Marketing Manager, so I would hire their food truck to come out to events I had planned. They were ALWAYS a hit! They have the best breakfast sandwiches and even made something up on the spot for a coworker of mine. I was excited that they finally found a spot to settle at on Cedar Springs & Oak Lawn. My only issue is they don't serve their amazing sandwiches in the actual location. You have to find the food truck for that. But their coffee selection is great, along with the service and I'm not just saying that because I like them. Additionally, they have a few meeting rooms that can be rented at a low cost - which is fab and not too common for a coffee house! Oh and parking has never been an issue. Union is my favorite place. I came here as a customer two times before I applied for a job. The interior is open and airy and beautiful, but it's the people that makes this place magic. Pure magic. Who the baristas are behind the bar are their true genuine selves. Everyone is kind, affirming, conscientious and intentional. I absolutely adore the people I work with. The coffee is amazing and I think that can go without saying! We take a ton of pride in our coffee & I think it shows. I've never had a job that I've loved more and I've never had a job where I felt so loved, supported and accepted just for being me. Union is such a beautiful coffee shop. I love the vibes. Parking was completely full on a Saturday afternoon, so it took me awhile to find a spot. While I love the open space feeling, there actually isn't that much seating available. This place seems like it's more of a place to study rather than chat with friends. Kinda felt like we were bothering people, but that's on us. I had the Matcha Mint. I liked the strength of the matcha but would probably get something else next time. Parking at this coffee shop is a bit tricky but visiting this spot is so worth it. Between the bright lights, the funky furniture, the welcoming (and inclusive) atmosphere, the *beautiful* and spacious outdoor picnic-style seating, the unique yet refreshing drinks, the interesting social events tied to this shop, the fact that they close at 8pm (which is later than most coffee-shops in this area) this coffee shop has got a lot to love. I ordered the lavender lemonade and it was delicious; slightly sweet, slightly fizzy, and super refreshing. Had their two of their fall specialty drinks (Mayan mocha and What's a Nut?). The mocha was a little lacking in flavor - I could taste the cinnamon and spice, but not so much the chocolate even after mixing vigorously. My husband thought his drink was just okay. Both could have been warmer when they were served. We also had their cinnamon bun that was warmed up (nice touch) and yummy. My husband tried the vegan gluten free chocolate cupcake (looks like a Hostess cake) and he found the cake to be nice and moist but way too sweet for him. The cafe was clean and organized, music was nice (not too loud), clean unisex bathroom, plenty of outlets at the bar top (and a few around the room). There's an upstairs seating area as well, but it was full when we got there. LOVED the outdoor patio seating and really appreciated the big lawn adjacent to it that is dog friendly and has picnic tables, a hammock, and corn hole! Perfect for a warm sunny day. A great spot! There are many pros about union coffee... The outside is my favorite. They have made it so easy to bring my dog! The area is fenced, which is great, because even though my dog stays on a leash, there's an added security with the shop being on the corner of busy roads. They also have a walk up window!!! Amazing addition because I don't have to figure out how to order inside while my dog is only allowed outside. The coffee is tasty. My caramel lavender latte was very good, not too sweet. My boyfriend had matcha that he liked, and the barista even gave him one with espresso to try, which was unexpected and thoughtful. The cinnamon roll was pretty good. On its own I'd give it a 6/10. The frosting was tasty but the roll itself was pretty dry. The inside is very cute and comfy. Although small downstairs, there is more seating upstairs. Union Coffee House has an amazing atmosphere perfect for studying, holding meetings, or catching up with an old friend. There is plenty of seating and private meeting rooms that you can reserve for larger parties. They're usually open later than most day coffee shops, which is a plus for busy students. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but they have a large selection of carefully sources coffee, and they even donate 10% of each coffee sale to charity. I opted for an iced apricot green tea, which is phenomenal. Not sweet at all and super refreshing. The wifi here is free and fast. I moved to Dallas 6 months ago and this is my favorite coffee shop that I've found. It's spacious, bright and QUIET! Perfect for catching up on work. I find a lot of coffee shops blast loud music and I can't concentrate with a lot of noise. Most importantly, the baristas know what they're doing. All the drinks I've tried are delicious! I love the causes this shop supports, but their coffee is not my favorite, and the seating area at the new location is pretty limited. I got the "Sweater Weather" fall drink (maple and cinnamon latte). I liked that it came with a cinnamon stick on top! That was a nice touch. But I asked for half sweet, and I think the barista forgot because it came out so sweet that I could barely drink any. I took the rest home so I can mix with it with more milk and espresso tomorrow. The iced soy milk latte that my friend got looked good, but I didn't try it. There's plenty of parking in their lot on the south side of the building, so that was convenient. They also have few conference rooms that you can reserve online. Overall not a bad coffee shop, but with it's limited seating and many competitors nearby, I'll probably go elsewhere to get my third wave coffee fix. read more

Solid coffee (you can't really go wrong), excellent vibes and 10/10 socially distanced outdoor table setup. I honestly prefer this spot over others when I'm looking for the vibes more so than the best/finest cup of espresso I can find. They use Onyx beans which are great, and it never has an overly acidic or bitter aftertaste. Over the years I've had their cappuccino, iced vanilla latte, and iced sweater weather, and all were solid. They also sell Tacodeli tacos which are delicious and offer plenty of vegetarian options! I also love that they have a bulletin board advertising community events, especially for the queer community. It's a fun way to know what's going on in the city. read more

I don't know of a coffee house with a better outdoor space than Union Coffee. This Saturday we decided to try the food. Having heard about the tacos, we asked for the taco menu... They offer six or so breakfast taco varieties for around $3 each. We also ordered a cinnamon pastry and an almost croissant. There wasn't anything not to like about the food, but the reason you want to go here is for the patio and the outdoor garden area. I haven't had the coffee in a while, so I'll have to provide an update on that in a later review. read more

Shaking and in dire need of a cup of java, I found this place on Yelp. After one sip of my hazelnut latte, I was sold. The syrup is made in-house and is very tasty. The coffee beans are ordered from a Seattle based roaster and are roasted fresh to order. Once roasted and cooled, the beans are mailed to Union, resulting in a fresh roast and delicious coffee beverage. The service was outstanding with a warm welcome. Trisha, my barista, offered some suggestions and proudly made my order. The interior is very delightful with a mix of earthy materials used for the furniture and decor with a contemporary edge. If you need to get some work done, this is the place for it. Its quiet ambiance and endless work surfaces make it perfect to get away from home or work. It's a lovely place and I'm not surprised it has a 4.5 star average rating! read more
