I am a coffee enthusiast and more particularly a huge cappuccino fan. I have to say that I had hard time finding a place in NH where they serve a decent espresso/cappuccino. Until I visited Union Coffee Co. I don't mind the 30 minute drive (I live in Manchester) on a Saturday/Sunday morning: the quality and the taste of the coffee is totally worth it. Never thought I would find such a gem in Milford. Union Coffee Co is a nice little coffee-shop just a few meters away from Milford main square. It is nicely decorated and modern and has a great atmosphere. Those are things that add up, but the real reason to go there is the coffee. I hate the machine-made cappuccino where the milk foam is bubbly and looks terrible. People over at this place really know how to make cappuccino. I had the best experience at this coffee house! First of all, it's nestled in the cutest town ever in New Hampshire, Milford. My boyfriend and I were on our way back from a snowboard vacation and we stopped for coffee. Well, he wanted coffee, I love my chai latte and boy did I find the best ever! They have a simple but concise menu for coffee lovers. I had a chai latte with a drop of honey soy milk and real chai tea, not that liquid version. There chia was perfection. My boyfriend had a salted maple latte and went to heaven. He came back quite happy and pleased. The setting is really chill and amazing really rustic low-key. It's safe to say we are coffee house snobs, and this place doesn't disappoint! I just came off a trip to Seattle and was far happier at Union Coffee than any shops I tried there. We came in at 7:30pm on a Monday evening looking for a spot to relax, have something warm to drink and conduct a business call. We asked the guy behind the counter if it would be okay to have a Skype call and he said "absolutely." He turned out to be the owner and couldn't have been nicer! We were concerned with disrupting other customers, but it was pretty quiet. We ordered two Union Standard coffees, poured in our chosen mugs, and I drank mine over the course of the hour call with the addition of unsweetened almond milk and available stevia. Perfect! The vibe was super relaxed, awesome decor, great logo and branding, and generally upbeat happy attitude. My fiance enjoyed a breakfast sandwich (I didn't ask if they had gluten free.) We aren't too close by, but would actually make the trip some night when there is live music. They had a Champlain Hard Cider I'd love to try! Derek, the owner, is part of why this place is so fantastic! Having such a positive relaxed attitude is completely refreshing and enjoyable. Great atmosphere, very nice service, and clean. They have live music nights, open Mic, bike night, and they serve coffee, tea, beer/cider and food. Tea is from the Cozy Tea Cart in Brookline. Love local businesses supporting other locals. The people here have always been friendly, both customers and employees. Outdoor seating for you and your pup to sit and people watch. Great for catching up with a friend or a date. Parking is easy to find and get. Milford has put in wider sidewalks so its safer walking to. So glad they opened this cafe in the oval! read more

Was meeting a friend and stopped in for a quick coffee and was quite impressed with what I found. Small place but warm atmosphere. Wish I had more time in here but I managed to squeeze in a chat with owners Paul and Derek. Friendly dudes. They compost all their trash including their biodegradable cups. I'm super excited to see more small business coffee places open up as a very welcome alternative to starbucks. Just outside The Oval on South Street I'm glad I stepped in. Nice atmosphere good coffee. I enjoyed the cappuccino and look forward to trying other drinks in the future. Finally! A place in Milford where you can just stop in for a coffee without feeling like you have to order an entire breakfast. Warm and cozy space, very relaxed. And not only do they support green business practices, they also give a 5 of every coffee to the local Boys & Girls Club. The B&GC in Milford does SO MUCH for our kids that I'm just thrilled with this new coffee shop. Way to go, Union Coffee! read more

Union coffee is quirky. I have about a 85% success rate at getting a cup of coffee there when I go in. If it isn't a worker telling me that they won't make my hot coffee on philosophical grounds it's just overwhelming bad service. Today, I stood in line for 15 minutes behind a few folks... got to the counter, finally. The woman working looked at me, turned her back and went on to food prep and wouldn't return to take my order. I'd say that this was a rare experience except that this is the 4th or 5th time in the last 3 weeks that this has happened. Before you think that there's some history... I have no idea what her name is, we've never met, and generally I think it's just fast-food apathy that wins sometimes at Union. I get it, no one wants to work in fast food, but if you're there... at least pretend to care. Despite the poor experiences on an ultimately simple and regular order "Small Latte, Extra Hot". I'll probably still go in there because: 1. It's across the street from where I get breakfast periodically. 2. It's becoming comical how awful the service and staff can be to people. This is definitely a case where the owners are not in control and the "cool kids" get to decide how the business is run. read more

Today I got a salted maple latte and it was one of the best lattes I've ever had. I liked that it wasn't too sweet. Atmosphere is excellent. Very cool fun place - a nice addition to Milford. Live music a plus. Cool decor and friendly staff. A great little place. I wish I could give it 5 stars but unfortunately it's coffee (normal brew) is very inconsistent vs Starbucks. The strength varies (I like a strong / hot brew) and sometimes it isn't very hot - like it's been sitting in the carafe too long. I hope they work on a consistent strong brew and use timers or thermometers to make sure that you get a hot cup everytime. Do that and I could easily move my rating to 5 stars. Hopefully just a growing pain that will be corrected since I would love to have this become my go to spot. BTW - most "custom" drinks that I have tried they have done well. So if you are a cappuccino etc type you should pleased and have 5 star experience. read more

This place was a little disappointing overall. I really love non-generic coffee places and was hoping to love this place. The coffee has an odd woody taste to it and their flavors are very weak in comparison to the coffee itself. I do love that they have online ordering and a little discount on your first order online which was a surprise. I will probably try them again but I'm not rushing out to get there. read more

We stopped in yesterday before our yoga class for a quick tea. The Arnold Palmer was excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive. My complaint is that the seating is awkward and the sun blaring through their windows, unbearable. We had a hard time finding a place to sit and when we did sit, the sun was brutal. It would be beneficial for them to find a way to tamper the sun in the afternoon. read more

I have been going to this place since it opened and it's by far my favorite coffee shop. They offer up some great lattes (flavors made in house) my favorite has always been the honey cinnamon. It's was a great place to hang out and drink coffee and get some work done. Or go to in the evening for a good micro brew and some local music, always a great atmosphere no matter what time of day. Also enjoyed going to bike nights all of this well until the pandemic hit. Still if you are looking for some good picked coffee or a great flavor latte I recommend this place for sure. read more

The food and coffee are are great but there is so much more to experience here. The place abounds in people with artistic and musical ability in both it's staff and customers. I stopped by for coffee at 10AM on a Monday and found a group of 4 musicians having their weekly jam session. Where else can you have coffee and listen to young musicians like this? The decor shows many artistic touches. One among many artistic touches, are beautifully framed and matted black and white, signed photographs of aesthetically pleasing places. It's my opinion that once someone has come here, they will want to come back to enjoy the experience of this place, the people, and it's food and drink. read more

I love this place! I went with a good friend of mine and I have to say this place is great. We got there around 9:00 am on a Saturday and it was very busy. There is lots of seating and its not very loud even with the large crowd that was there. I think having the ordering and some seating in one room, then another room with seating in both rooms is great. I like the industrial look , yet warm and inviting this place is. I just had their regular house coffee in a nice large red mug. It was lot of coffee and I did not need to go for seconds. There is a little area that you add your cream and sugar. I also got a blueberry scone. It was delicious. I read they get their pastries from somewhere local.It was the best scone I have ever had it was not dry. I will go again soon. I love the atmosphere of this place! I am sure it is great for take out too! read more

This coffee shop is incredible! Their espresso drinks are delicious, expertly prepared with care and served in handmade ceramic mugs or compostable to-go cups. Definitely try the homemade lavender vanilla syrup, great combination with a latte or cappuccino. We also had the breakfast sandwich with homemade (perfectly fluffy) scrambled eggs and yummy cheddar on an English muffin pressed on a panini grill to a crispy outside, velvety inside bite of perfection. The design of this shop is icing on the cake. Everything from the coffee bar to the wall hangings to the bathroom has been carefully considered and works beautifully with their Union Coffee branding. We were not disappointed as this place has a very relaxed atmosphere with lots of quality drink options (including a solid craft beer list) and a few but quality food options.
