Always honest. GIA certifications on many pieces. Great prices. I shop here a lot. This is consignment so you never know what you will find, but they have very high end pieces a lot of the time. If you consign they take 25% which means if you are selling jewelry you will get way more than selling to a traditional jeweler. I used to shop at Barmakians in Nashua. I paid way more for way less before I went to J. August. I used to take what I bought from J. August to Barmakians and asked for them to confirm item specifics. Never once was I told that what I bought was different from what I thought I bought. More than once I mentioned what I paid and was told I got a great price. I highly recommend J. Prices are incredibly high for sizing especially since they keep the gold and don't base it off of the difference of what they make off of the gold they keep, they also cracked one ring and the stone that is set in it and didn't mention it hoping we wouldn't notice, I also had requested repair be done to a ring under warranty, the stone they set didn't sit flush and it is coming loose. They did not repair it, they didn't touch it at all! We were told it would be ready in a week, it wasn't. unfortunately we will not be using them anymore for our jewelry, which is a shame since we've been using them for years 2021 is the end of our business there. read more

I love this store. So many options including doing custom pieces. I could spend hours admiring their beautiful collection that is always refreshed with new pieces so it's never boring stopping in and finding something new. Once I went in looking for a small solid gold bangle bracelet and the gentlemen that owns the store was very helpful and brought me the perfect bangle from the back and I've worn it everyday since. They just have some really unique jewelry, not the typical 80's out of style jewelry. I will continue to visit this store regularly. It's like going to the spa for me. I went into J. August to see if they had any diamond pendants. The person who helped me actually helped me make my own. I selected the diamond which he gave me honest feedback on, then we looked at settings. It took one week for the pendant to be made. He also had a perfect chain selected.
