Taking an Uber here for the first time it was hard to find even for the driver but I would have to say that is my only compliant of our entire trip here. (Even though they ran out of popcorn!) Arriving on a Saturday around 5 PM it was a nice fall night, the band was setting up. We decided to drink inside. Deciding what beer to go with the man waiting on us gave us some good suggestions. Ended up with the Change Order and Anthem. Both were good beers. To go along with the beer we got a Pretzel from the Well Crafted Kitchen. New location- awesome. Beer selection- great. Food- food trucks and seems like the kitchen is on its way. Vibe- exactly what you would expect from anything near the Hampden neighborhood Price- Meh. Listen, I know it's a business, but when I can go pick up a six pack of your beer a mile up the road for almost the price of one beer at your brewery, there is a moment of reconsideration. A beer drinker like myself would buy the extra two or three beers if you were to lower your prices by a dollar or two.. also considering that you're not serving pint sized glasses I will definitely be coming back despite the last comment. Really cool spot to come grab a drink and socialize! The space is brand new, with both indoor and outdoor seating. You can also bring food to eat at the picnic tables inside, and soon there will be a restaurant open connected to it (it is still being cleared for permits). I love that the Union Collective (just renovated by Union and also housing my all time favorite ice cream shop, the Charmery) supports and houses Baltimore based companies. I love this place so much. The beers are incredible, and that goes without saying. The Gose is my absolute favorite, and you can bring home a growler of anything they have on tap OR you can buy cans. BUT my absolute favorite thing about this brewery is the fact that they have events that are free and fun; Outdoor movies, live music, DJ's. Follow them on IG to keep up with their events. Parking lot on site makes this easy to visit, and everyone has been incredibly friendly every time we've visited, patrons and employees alike. read more

One thing is that they do have the beer concept down. I love how they designed the bar. There was a pretty good selection of beers and my go to is the hefenweizen which they had. I was hoping to find food but there wasn't any yet but saw signs of that coming soon. We really loved spending the beginning of our NYE weekend at Union Craft. We were able to snag some spots at the bar which definitely made a Saturday afternoon a lot more enjoyable on a busy Saturday! The place was PACKED but cleared out when folks went on the tours when we were able to grab seats. I really enjoyed the nitro stout and one of the bartenders even let me try some of his Apricot sour that was available in the large format cans only but it was excellent and we ended up taking one to go. My husband and I went here after seeing the sign off 83 and having tried their beer in other bars and restaurants and wanting to go straight to the source. We were no disappointed and had the BEST day. We went early and wanted to be there as soon as they opening but even by the time we got there it was pretty bustling. The bar area is pretty compact and you do have to wait a little bit but a super friendly and knowledgeable guy took care of us and let us try all of the different kinds of beers. There was also a tour going on and a food truck outside that you could buy from and eat inside if you wanted a little lunch/snack (we did not eat there so I can't review it). The beer was very good and I fell in love with the Duckpin IPA which is amazeballs. We got a table and people watched and explored the brewery. On a cold January day it was the perfect way to spend the day. We would up chatting some guys who turned out to be neighbors and made some new local friends. The atmosphere is very kitschy, a lot of hipsters and an amazing staff. First time here, I got the Balt and my boyfriend got a Black Wing- They taste amazing, especially for a microbrew. The brewery is only open for 3 hours a day and the place is full as soon as it opened, we didn't stay long enough to see if the crowd thinned out or not. If you're looking for somewhere new to go and good people to meet you definitely want to check this place out. read more

I was Very excited to visit this Brewery until I got there, place is huge and they serve food but to get beer forget about it. Wanted to try some beers and by which they do not offer flights but instead got 2 5 oz pours and that is it ! The Girl at the bar said 2 beers per person and that's it for the day ! In my advice stay clear from this brewery and go enjoy some other brewery that wants you to be there and not chase you away after just 2 beers per person !! read more

Love this place, their beers are all so delicious and unique. The atmosphere is also very fun, lively, and friendly. I can always count on Union for a good time and a tasty beer. They tend to have a couple of beers that are regulars (think the Duckpin, Anthem, etc.), but also keep a rotation of seasonal beers on tap. Now that it's getting a little chillier outside, I've been thinking about ducking in for a pint of their Snowpants. If you like coffee stouts I'd highly recommend it. My main complaint about Union is that it can get pretty packed inside. Most of the times that I have gone it's been very difficult to find seating. However, soon they should be opening up the Union Collective, so hopefully they have some more space there. read more

I had been told by numerous people that if you're looking for great beer in Baltimore, you need to come here. This being said, I had super high expectations. Unfortunately for my palate, Union is what I would refer to as a hop-forward type brewery. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's not exactly my cup of tea. Nina and I shared Old Pro, Royal Farmhouse DIPA, Chessie, Blodgenguch and Pink Flamingo. The first and last were my personal favorites. I do love a good sour. Impossible to have a conversation when there were only 4 other people in the room. I liked the duckpin and the dark german beer (dunkelweizen style), but in February - the stouts and porters were where it was at. We had been introduced to these beers at the Italian Disco restaurant near the inner harbor so drove out to the Union Taproom the next evening.The bartenders were a bit aloof but they warmed up after we'd ordered a few. Like they were in their own clique. We really like Union beers and got a couple six packs to go home. I went to have the Divine IPA I had enjoyed at the restaurant and we tried some new things. Standouts were the Blackwing slow-pour lager and the Sulatana Dipa. This hall has live music some nights and we'd like to go back to hear music and continue to explore the beer list. read more

Being a nice day, we sat outside on the picnic tables. Because of the noisy freeway a few feet away that sounded like it was on top of us, we had a hard time conversing. What a great find! A quirky, industrial interior and FREE BEER. We were limited (?!) to six six-ounce sample glasses, most of which they filled completely. How anyone has room to purchase a $4 pint after that is beyond me! The beer itself was good, not great; I am a little fed up with the hops craze that seems to have infiltrated American microbreweries of late. Their Duckpin and Clawhammer were hard to finish for this reason. The hibiscus cask beer was almost undrinkable. But the Blackwing Lager, though a little watery, had a pleasantly toasty undertone, and the Balt Altbier was the closest to the warm Belgian-style ales I prefer. We skipped the tour, since I've been on so many beer tours I can't imagine learning anything new. It was also starting to really fill up by then (around 2 PM; we arrived at 1.) On the way to the car we walked right by a taco truck and were sorely tempted, but we had lunch plans. It would be a great spot for an urban picnic! read more

We have been coming to Union Craft for over a year. Being from Philadelphia with YARDS Brewery and PBC around the corner from me, it's hard to not have the same connection in Baltimore. Union Craft finally filled that hole I was missing. I still love Brewer' Art..but its not a brewery! UCB has great apparel for friends and family - They just came out with flat caps and I can't wait to buy one for my cousin! For the holidays, I brought home a few growlers of their beer. Also, I LOVE that they have a different food truck every weekend! I recently just moved to Union Ave. and am down the street from Union Craft Brewery. The beer here is great, the atmosphere is chill, and to top it off they have food trucks and brewery tours on a regular basis! If you're into craft beer, Union is definitely one of the best in Baltimore. Just be warned: if you come for happy hour you should arrive right at 5pm because it fills up fast. Also, definitely consider taking the free brewery tour on the weekend. It's not a large brewery and if you're familiar with the brewing process most information won't be new, but it was interesting to hear their company's story. This brewery is fantastic, and their Old Pro is a real Hole In One! This Gose (which you can snag on draught) has a fantastic Pucker Profile! This sour blaster will not only let you finish those 18, but it will help you go(se) further than you have in days. Union has the pucker cannon profile just right. My husband and I did an all day beer crawl in Baltimore after hopping on the Marc's $7 weekend train. Union Craft was our fourth stop, and we were impressed. So far that day, we had only visited brew pubs, which is nice, but coming from some of the best breweries in DC, we wanted an actual brewery experience. The above ground metro (more like a street car) took us out just a block from this place. Which was nice. The place was PACKED the day that we went, due to some birthday party event. Similar to our DC breweries, they had a food truck outside, and a little area to get tasters, etc. The little bar area is extremely small, but somehow we snagged a spot at the end of the bar, where Jason took care of us. Since we took the train that day, we couldn't bring our growlers, so Jason just gave us samples of all the beer. The beer was good, some of them better than others, but I am looking forward to see what they come out in the future. We did not do a tour, because frankly, when you do a couple of brewery tours, you've done them all. We did end up grabbing a six pack, a couple of baby onesies and a sticker for our car. Seriously great service, friendly smiles and a loyal local following. That's what we like to see and appreciate. I wish this place the best of luck and we look forward to visiting again. read more

They make good beer, and they are always having awesome events at the brewery (bike party, oyster festival, etc). I really like the Blackwing, but every beer of theirs that I've tried has been solid. I think we were the wrong demographic and came on the wrong night!!! Actually, the first time we came here, we almost zipped right past the entrance - I'd suggest better signage and lighting and maybe a guard rail? But, it was closed. The only thing open in the complex was The Charmery but we wanted food and drink, so we drove off. So last week, we check the hours - they're weird - and go. The parking lot was packed! When we finally found the correct entrance, we find this huge space packed with mostly hipsters sipping beers. We couldn't go into the main area as there was a very loud band playing and we didn't want to pay the cover, nor scream at each other in lieu of conversation - we wanted food and drink! (We were really hungry!) Finally finding a food menu, with its limited offerings, we decide this is not the place for us tonight. So we leave without eating or drinking. read more

Beer was okay and bartenders were friendly. This review is based upon our experience outside. We visited on a beautiful fall afternoon in October. Many other people had the same idea, and most were enjoying the outdoor space. There was a group of four playing Cornhole. These folks were quite loud, but tolerable until they started hurling bags at one another. At this point, the situation became obnoxious and we left. With so many people outside and so few inside, it would have been nice to have more staff outside. We saw a couple of folks clearing glasses outside, but that was it. read more
