Great atmosphere and food. A must if you're ready for a break eating Sisig and Bopis. Fish and chips were great!

Usually, I go here after a long day and just sit at the bar. I order my beer, watch a bit of TV then head home. Simple. No noisy gossip, no blaring dance music... just a big ass beer and basketball on the TV. The food is pretty decent. It's just a bit heavy for me if I'm here alone. I recommend the Spam Chips! Love those! The sausages are good too. But, seriously, you're here for the beer and you can't go wrong with a draft beer. They have flavored beers for the girls. If you're looking for something sweet to drink, I recommend the Caramel Beer. They have promos for every day of the week. For example, they have Girl's Night Out Wednesdays. Ladies get Buy 1, Take 1 on all cocktails and wine. On Thirsty Thursdays, my personal fave, all their available foreign beers are only Php100. NICE! If you're feeling the oldie bug and want a chill night, this is THE place to go! Who knows, maybe you'll see me sitting by the bar when you visit. ;)

Since I live around the area, I like to drop by St. Patrick's once in a while. It is an Irish themed pub (hence the name) that not only serve liquor but really good food as well! I usually order a beer or two to go with the favorite things I like to order from their menu. For starters or bar chow, I get the potato chips, butter popcorn or garlic peanuts. They go really well with beer! When I'm really hungry I get the heavier meals. The U.S. Sirloin Tapsilog really hits the spot. It's one of the best tapas I've ever tasted. The beef is very well marinated. The Poutine is also sinfully amazing. It's potato wedges topped with lots of cheese and gravy. They're original St. Paddy's wings are good too! It's exactly what you expect it to be. Another one I've tried is their Salisbury Steak topped with mushrooms and gravy served with mashed potatoes. This is actually my favorite from their mains section of the menu. St. Patrick's also has a promo in some days of the week which I find really clever! They have: Black Jack Mondays - 50% off on Black Label and Jack Daniel's Bottles Irish Tuesdays - 100pesos on all Irish drinks Girls Night Out Wednesdays - Buy one take one on cocktails and wine for ladies Thirsty Thursdays - 100pesos on foreign beers of the day Sunday Slowdowns - 50% off on wines by the glass and bottles And, they have HAPPY HOUR 4pm-8pm Buy 1 take 1 on all local bottled beers! So what are you guys waiting for? Head on over there. Drink and try their food!

Recently had lunch at Union Jack. I'm a stickler for clean windows in every establishment. Clean…read morethe windows...please! That being said, the fish and chips served to me looked just like the picture on the menu...2 thumps up for that. The fish without the batter was bland to the taste but cooked perfectly. The chips were not for me. I prefer thinner cut fries but I'm told they are authentic to what you can expect in the UK. The mayo/white sauce that came with the meal needs work...more sweet and sour ingredients maybe. Servers were professional and responsive. Food is priced appropriately. I will return to try other items on the menu...when I see the windows have been cleaned . I recommend giving Union Jack a try.

Tuned into a sports channel, beer on tap and a best of British menu (plus a huge poster of a Queen Elizabeth with a face of approval watching over you) is just a tip of the whole experience. Would have wanted to try their other curry dishes as their chef is Indian! Mental note to go back on a weekend to try their Indian buffet at 600+ per head. I chose the beef tikka masala off the British menu. They serve two versions, the former having the curry separate from the grilled meat plus a poppadum and the Indian version curry-style. Tasted amazing- right level of heat and creaminess! The beef had a nice char and spice to it but was overcooked and slightly under seasoned. Had a hard time cutting through. Shepherds Pie came straight out of the oven hot and meaty. Everything was washed nicely with a fresh pint of draft beer at Php 100!

This place has the underground scene vibes that will make you feel like you've time travelled to the 80's and found yourself in a dope rusty basement attending a rock n' roll show. I always have a good time whenever I'm here, the beers are pretty cheap too. Usual door charge is only P200 that comes with 1 free drink. For everyone who loves rock and/or indie music, this place won't disappoint you.

It was already dingy when I first went there more than five years ago... and it's only getting worse. The stairs leading to the bathroom are barely hanging on by a thread (no doubt caused by raucous rakistas), the interior has seen better days. Even the food prices have gone up, despite not improving in quality, or in service. One thing never changes though: the music. I was never a passionate musician (despite being part of a half-baked band and playing a gig during our sophomore year in Highschool) but seeing everyone there-- getting to meet and hang out with bands and realizing just how much passion one person can have, it always gets me. Even if saGuijo steadily declines in quality, the music, and the passion for it never changes. When I step into saGuijo, I feel like i'm in highschool again, full of dreams, and every time the bass thrums in my chest, I feel like anything's possible.

I'm writing this review quickly as I am having the saddest tasting squash soup I've ever tried in my life. The description reads Organic Squash: finished with saffron, infamous, dairy-free and divine. It should just read: infamously insufficient and mediocre. I'm very disappointed to spend Php220++ for this. The bread on the side is the nicest thing about it. The Cool Cesar salad for Php290++ is just not worth it. Description reads: romaine, maple bacon, with grana Padano shavings, and 63 degree sous vide egg. First of all, the bacon was just crumbs of sad Bac-o looking bits (you remember those artificial bacon you can buy in the grocery? Those actually taste better) and the sous vide egg they proudly put was just half the egg and overcooked(basically hard boiled). This is the perfect example of false advertising. Using fancy words and cooking terms to lure the customer and delivering a very substandard dish. Come on! The Seared tuna Niçoise Php350++ is nothing you can't make at home for even less than what they charge... Biodynamic greens, furikake crust, kalamata olives, tomatoes and hard boiled egg. Again, under delivered with just Lolo rosso leaves, one or two quail eggs and black olives that I'm sure aren't kalamata. They are the ones you can buy in the bottle or can...in fairness only the mini seared tuna was seated nicely but that is all.. So I'm not even going to bother trying anything else. If you can't even get the appetizers right, there's not enough enthusiasm for anything else on the menu. I also told the waitress the soup was bland and didn't taste good, she just giggled. I'm wondering what happened to Lulu.. This is my first bad review and I really have no problem writing it. I'm usually nicer but this is a joke. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If you're looking for better value for money, you're better off going somewhere else nearby.. Like even-Subway-will-deliver-to-you-what's-on-the-menu kind of SERIOUSLY!

Summary Fair prices…read morefor great food. Cuisine is more British than anything else but there is some fusion involved. Plating is attractive and overall cuisine is fine dining but the atmosphere is more casual. Restaurant The restaurant itself is split into the main dining area and kitchen and then split off and accessible via glass door is the bar area. The bar area also has tables and supports the menu of the main restaurant. Incidentally the semi-coed bathroom (which can lead to a little awkwardness) is located in the bar section. The ambiance in the restaurant section is quiet casual and the decor is modern Western with the front of the restaurant a giant window. The bar section is a little cramped but it rarely gets full so you can usually find a seat for your party. Its a pretty average bar with the scene being expat and older. I prefer other bars in the neighborhood myself, but if I am entertaining an older ex-pat group, this is one of my go tos for a casual drink these days. My only negative is I hate their knives. They are these stand on their edge style that keep falling over and can't be laid on its side. Food I eat here less than frequently but more than "once in a while". I am a big fan of their wellington but most items on the menu are above average to really good. I will say nothing on the menu knocks my socks off, but the wellington comes close. Quantity is large but not too large. I've been told that the head chef used to be the head chef at the Marriott in London, however my visiting British friend declared the fish and chips "not good enough" earlier this year (for what that is worth). I personally am not British and hate fish and chips so I can't judge myself. Plating of all dishes is attractive and appetizing. Price For this neighborhood and given the food quality, this restaurant is really fairly priced. One of the better values in Salcedo Village for fine dining overall. Overall Highly recommend. Probably nothing will knock your socks off, but you will never leave this restaurant unsatisfied with the food and you will always get value for your money.

The highlights, for me, are the great variety of greens, fruits and vegetables (including organic ones!) and the fact that they sell Santïs meats, so I don't have to do two shopping trips. They sell also a good variety of rice (if you're not used to the filipino one, then they have Basmati, Jasmine, Brown Rice and much more) and beans. Thanks to the beans from Landmark, I can keep the Brazilian "rice and beans" tradition at home. And believe me, that means a lot to me :) I also love Landmark's food court. There's a green juice in some stall there that's is just perfect. I also like Bread Talk and Kumori, the Japanese bakery. I mean, there's a lot to explore there before you start pushing your shop cart! TIP: Landmark is cheaper than Rustan's and has much more variety than the SM Supermarket. Choose it for the big once-a-month grocery.
