I myself applied for a job here in 2009 I took a three-hour test in Glendale California in early 2010 (92%score), I was called in for an interview in June of that year I was interviewed by the head HR person out of Omaha the Colton yard manager and the Colton yard director all whose names I can't recall as well as the manager for the department I would have been hired into. During mind hundreds of people applied for the position in the department I did about half a dozen were called in for interviews at their City of industry location, at that time I had a 13 year old felony conviction for a violent crime that didn't involve drugs or robbery it was an altercation between me and my two older brothers and I declared and reported that on the application, their website at that time said felonies would be considered on a case-by-case basis and I was still allowed to test and called in for one-on-one interview with the above named department heads. When I got to the interview I was a third one interviewed the director of the Colton yard immediately took a dislike to me he berated me and suggested I was not qualified to work for the company the HR Manager who is a few years younger than me at that time in his late 30s and a homosexual also did not think I was fit for the jobbut the manager of the yard and my department head voted for me unfortunately the directors vote what's the deciding factor in not being being recommended for being hired. fast forward 18 months I find out for my friend who works at the Colton yard that the director was retired early for theft and personal purchases on his company credit card, lol

Then the Polar Express train ride in Perris California is the golden ticket. We all put on matching pj's jumped on the 8pm train and watched as movie came to life in the 1 hour train journey. We left feeling happier than we jumped on. It truly was worth every penny we all agreed. The actors, singing and dancing were amazing. Celebrating 125 Years!!…read more Angels Flight, a 298 foot funicular / inclined plane, originally opened on December 31, 1901. It connects Hill Street with California and features two vintage cars, Sinai and Olivet. It is open from 6:45am-10pm every day! This was so fun I rode both cars - up, down and up again! $1.50 each way... such a deal! The ride itself takes less than a minute and besides a little shimmy and shake when the cars pass each other, it is a straight shot. You can pay with your metro card, debit/credit card or cash. It's a fairly streamlined process & you pay at the top. The gates for the funicular are automatic at the top and bottom of the hill & only the top is staffed by an employee. If you want to save $1.50, you can always walk up the nearly 300 stairs to the left of the funicular & get your steps in! Peace.

Not only did I make it to my destination on time, the train I was in was spotless clean! What a nice and smooth ride with quick stops along the way. My bff lives in Fontana, so I boarded at the Fontana train station, got lucky as I caught the last train into LA. Helpful tip, make sure you catch the last train into DTLA by 7pm or you'll have to wait until the morning. Fare was a reasonable price considering how expensive gas is right now. And the best part? You totally avoid any traffic ! I will definitely consider train travel within LA again

Since her introduction, she has transported an Emperor, VIP guests and lucky Park guests alike around Disneyland. Being able to ride in the Lily Belle is a special treat that can happen if you are taking a specific Railroad associated Guided Tour, but know that if the temperatures are too high the day/time you are there they will not bring her out and you will NOT get to ride in it. Club 33 guests, VIP's and occasionally random lucky guests can get a chance to experience the Lilly Belle- if you are ever so inclined to receive an offer don't hesitate! The decor is rich and filled with history- no spoilers will be given here! Part of the fun of the experience is learning about these things while on your excursion! If you ever are presented with the opportunity to ride the Lilly Belle, do not hesitate! It's any Disney lovers experience of a lifetime!

I needed to get from LAX to Irvine on the cheap and looked at my alternatives. After looking at Greyhound and other airport shuttle services in the area, I decided to take the Amtrak that departed from Union Station Los Angeles to Irvine. It was not a short ride by any means, but it was convenient for me to get to where I wanted to go for a decent price. I booked the Amtrak ticket online about 2 days before arriving in Los Angeles. It was a fair price and definitely cheaper than an Uber ride. I was shocked at how much an Uber ride is in Los Angeles compared to the Amtrak. I arrived at Union Station around 6:30am on a Saturday morning in mid September 2026 after getting off a LAX FlyAway bus from LAX. I had time to kill and I walked around Union Station. Felt like a run down building but had its usual modern refinements. Even if its 2026, it felt like being in the 1960's and it's a train depot. With every modern enhancement here and concessions here, it felt like Union station was in a time warp, but we do need trains to get people and goods where they need to be. My time here at Union Station Los Angeles was brief. Even an Amtrak staff member who was driving in a golf cart saw me waiting on the platform told me to take an earlier train instead of waiting, but I decided to wait for my ticketed train anyway (an hour later). Thought that was weird. I walked around Union Station to kill time and when it was time to, I walked back to platform 9 with 15 minutes till departure and boarded the Surfrider train bound for San Diego and getting off at Irvine station. Union Station has limited concessions here but at least there's restrooms and places to sit down to wait for your train out of Los Angeles. The overall experience here at Union Station was typical. It is a waystation for those who are commuting on the Amtrak. It is a nice building for the Amtrak hub for all trains passing thru the Los Angeles corridor. The building is dated but it works for most people who are traveling on Amtrak and the Metrolink on any given casual day. For the most part though, my experience here was good and uneventful. I saw a couple of people talking out loud and could have been homeless. I'm thankful that Union Station is predominately safe and have uniformed security around to make sure that everyone is safe and secured. And so, if you are coming or going inside Los Angeles and want to find alternatives to air travel, consider Amtrak and Union Station Los Angeles for your way out of California and where you want to be. Union Station Los Angeles is located at 800 N Alameda Street in downtown Los Angeles, California. It's a main hub for Amtrak and a gateway to cities north, east, and south of the city. All Amtrak tickets can be purchased at Union Station Amtrak kiosks or online at Amtrak's website in advance. The tickets are fairly cheap, depending on how far you travel. Only thing about train travel is that its fairly slower than air travel, but it can be quite inexpensive compared to air travel too. Just depends on what you want to do and if you have the time for it. Union Station is open to the public, but I'm thinking it can be restrictive if you don't have a ticket and officials can ask you for a ticket if you're just loitering in the building. I'm not sure if there is a parking lot for those who park and take the train, but you'd think there is. I'm just a tourist that took a train here at Union Station. I'm sure there there's a lot of public transportation options in the Los Angeles area to get you to Union Station, if you decide you want to ride the Amtrak. I'm just glad that there are restrooms here at Union Station. It just feels like a big building with a few concessions and restrooms. It's quite a big station and can be a bit intimidating if it's your first time walking through. Of course you have the main entrance that welcomes you with the station architecture. There's food stalls incase you have a little wait time and wanted something to eat. Starbucks is also located inside. Restroom are scattered but it seemed like the only ones I've found are along the hallway where the tracks are. A big hub where the Amtrak's meets and connects to the metro that takes throughout the city. Coming or going from Palm Springs is my connecting here whenever I'm not driving and dealing with traffic. You can also start here is you want to get around the city with the different color line train. Santa Monica, the valley, Pasadena, Long Beach are all accessible through the station here with the different color metro. There are a lot of tracks so make sure to read the screen where all the stations are marked to know which track your train is at. Not only the train, you can also catch the greyhound bus at this station. Depending on how the tracks run, it's a give or take if they're on time. This past experience, after we left the station heading towards Fullerton, train stopped for a good half hour as there was some kind of delay with the tracks. So you never know what you'll get.

It was a colorful mini train with a driver in the engine trailing two train cars with two rows each, just big enough to fit a dozen small children. The kids went nuts for this train. There were too many of them to ride at once, but they took turns for the first few rides until some of them started to get bored and returned to the rest of the party. The remaining die-hards, including my son, kept the train full for the remainder of its contracted time. I think it was there for one hour, and my son was on board for more than 45 minutes. The parking lot was small, and the train had a tight route: two loops followed by a dizzying finale of mini-train donuts. The driver moved fast, swerving and accelerating to delight the children. They were all buckled in, with the driver checking himself before each departure, but it did feel a little bit dicey. I am not shocked that this Yelp page is mostly 5-star reviews, with a smattering of 1-stars due to child endangerment. (There appears to have been an incident in September 2017.) My boy and his friends had a blast, though, and no one was harmed by this hour of Trains on the Move. If you have little thrill seekers and moderate risk tolerance, your kids are guaranteed to love the speedy baby train.

I have lived here many years but only taken the Coaster a handful of times…read more I was going down to Petco park for a Padres game and decided to give it a try. It is about an hour from Oceanside to the San Diego Santa Fe depot (about 20 minutes more than driving by car at 1030 am). There was an option for a day pass for $15 to take the Coaster down and back, but also to be able to use the Trolley as well. That was a good deal. Avoid a ticket and tap your Pronto card everytime you get on to a train or trolley. You get down to the Santa Fe Depot and you walk over to the trolley line and take the green or blue, green has less stops and it only takes like 10-14 minutes. The conductors do come by to check your tickets, so just make sure you tap your Pronto card everytime you get on to a train or trolley. I was able to leave the game with 2 outs to go and run to the trolley which was running late, and at about 407 got us over to the Santa Fe depot at 418 and we had to run to the Coaster that was leaving at 420 but we made it, even when I stopped to tap my pronto card. Although, I had ridden it 2 days previously, and the Wi-Fi was out then also, on my next ride, I asked the conductor and he acted as if he wasn't aware of that and would report it. Also, at least 1/2 the bathrooms were out of order. That's a problem. I hope that's not a sign of deterioration.
