I recently call about a leak. When I received the call back aI asked if someone could come out there same day the man said no which was understandable, it was a holiday weekend. He stated they could come on Tuesday day then "good luck finding someone today, do your thing", and hung up in my face. I called back with the intention of scheduling for Tuesday but he continued to be rude. I can just imagine how much business this company has missed out on because of this person. read more

I wanted to update my prior review of Union Roofing. The exterior of our home is mostly stone, but we had a small area of wood that was rotting. We just had our roof replaced by Union, and wanted to make sure the entire exterior was updated and structurally sound. Since we were very happy with the roof, we contacted Union, along with another contractor to get two estimates. Frank from Union gave us a price that was less than the other contractor, so it made our decision very easy. Frank also suggested we box in the porch -or cover the wood frame around the porch with new white aluminum siding. Since a crew was coming out to install such a small area, it made sense to have this small, but necessary update, completed at the same time. The price he gave me was so low, I said yes immediately. My father was a siding-window contractor for 63 years - I know the business. The installation crew was very professional and meticulous - they did a fabulous job. The Walnut colored siding looks great, as does the porch! We now know our home's exterior is protected with a roof and siding replacements from Union. read more

Bad Roof company after paid big money to replace the roof the leak still the same. They come back 3 time still not fixed and damage the HVAC unit. I have to spent money to repair and ask them to reimburse, they are denying and blame the HVAC technician lift the unit about 300 pounds!!! read more

Frank was amazing start to finish. He gave me everything (insurance info written quote) the first time I asked for it and immediately too. He was patient and not pushy while I gathered all the info I felt I needed to make a decision. I felt like Frank cared about me and not just getting the job. His crew was amazing. They cleaned up very well too! I got pictures while they worked and after they were done. I was expecting it to be very loud while they were working and was shocked they were not nearly as loud as I was expecting. The roof of one of my properties had a leak, Union fixed the issue and almost a year later the problem was back, because it was still covered they came out and supposedly repaired the issue, and less than a month after the leak is back... I'm done with these guys I asked them to asses the whole roof while up there and then the guy gave me some story about my skylight being rusted out, I had a friend do a drone fly over there was nothing wrong with my skylight. The absolute worst quality of work I've ever encountered. You will get the run around on what the actual source of the problem is and only for them to continue to recommend a new repair that, surprise, cost more money. Frank will continue to give you quality lip service and not deliver on quality work/repairs that you actually need. Union Roofing replaced my roof 5 years ago with a recurring leak that still has not ended, with about 15-20 service calls during this time. Recently, I had a different roofing company come out to inspect and was told they'd need to redo everything in order to properly ensure the leak ends. Photo shows my roof with rubber patches going in different directions and then a photo of my neighbor's roof done. The quality of work in both of these photos are not comparable. They said its a new roof my bedroom ceiling was wet after they did my roof that was 8 25 2020 and a year. Later it was still leaking in my room then then frank said it was my chimney they cement that chimney and that was 10 7 2021 and frank came out for the roof in December of 2022 and said that it was all sealed it should not be doing that if it was a new roof they did it my bath room ceiling is still wet when it rains . read more

Called for an estimate because of a leak in the roof. They came and barely checked the roof and based on the roof's age told me that it needed to be replaced. Three weeks later, the leak continued, they were unresponsive, and would call at 6am to try to schedule a day off inspection of the leak. After several attempts to schedule them to look at the roof a guy came, took two photos and said he would get back to us. After we called them waiting to hear back a week or so later they tell us that the leak is from the bay roof and that it would more money to fix...despite it being the exact same leak we asked them to repair. Once they have your money they will run, be unresponsive and have the gaul to ask for more money to fix their mistakes. NO ONE SHOULD EVER hire this company. CALL ANYONE BUT UNION ROOFING. Their price was higher than other companies, but i was comfortable with that because I support union workers. I won't get into the long story, but they did a horrible job on the easiest A-frame roof ever. The flashing was wavy and the shingles were not installed straight across the roof. It leaked a couple years later, because of some basic mistakes with the ridge vent and drip edge, but they would not honor their warranty. We took them to court and both them and the lawyer they hired played dirty, changing facts and trying to make me look incompetent. I could tell that the judge was agitated with them and at the end, we won the case, but it was just a total mess. read more

Horrible! I paid over 900 for a roof repair and less than six months later it started leaking again! I called them up to fix the repair. I was diplomatic about it because things happen. they refused to fix it and called me rude. They cussed at my mom and then set me an invoice to repair it. I could see if it was like a year or two later but I refuse to shell out more money (another 900) for them to repair a repair. I think they are racist too. Please go somewhere else! Absolute frauds. When you schedule a visit for an estimate, the guy will show up with his whole team and pressure you into getting the roof done that day. The guy doing the estimate appeared professional, but the yahoos that actually did the work left trash, were loud, and did a crap job. 6 months after the new roof was on, it started leaking. I called and the same guys came out, stayed 10 minutes and said they fixed it...I could not tell where they had applied any tar or sealed anything. 6 months after that and I have a new leak in the kitchen. I looked on the roof and the seams are pulling apart and the tar around the drain is full of holes. I don't even want to bother to call them again because I doubt they'll fix it. Union is successful is providing the WORST experience I've ever had with a contractor. It has been over 3 months and they have not completed the work they said they would do and we've had to hound them to fix their mistakes. Previous reviews adequately explain the business practices of changing out staff when there is a problem and no one actually finishes what they started even after they admit to using subcontractors who used the wrong material. Union Roofing came out on Monday morning at 8am, downspout failed blocked water over flowed from roof penetration outer walls damaged 4 rooms. I've used Union Roofing before they've continually done a good job fixing my downspout and roof, pleasant to work with, they do their job clean up after, send you pictures, when completed, I have no complaints, I will recommend them to anyone who need work on roof or gutters. Earlier this year they worked on my kitchen roof and extension roof above it, I've had it fixed before but the problem continued. Union roofing came identified the problem fixed it, they installed a french drain on the back of my garage, I've called a few companies before to fix the drain most said they don't do that kind of drain or they never came back to fix it. read more

I hired Union Roofing to install a flat roof at my home in Avalon in February 2021 to remedy a leak in my sunroom. Less than two years later, my roof is leaking again. I contacted Union Roofing and they denied any responsibility saying that I had a deck put on incorrectly and this was causing the roof to cave-in. They submitted an estimate of $15,000 to fix the problem. I hired another contractor to remove a portion of the deck and found that Union Roofing had changed the pitch of my flat roof, causing the water to pool rather than drain off the roof. I contacted Union Roofing again and they told me they would have someone come out this Friday, February 3, to fix the problem. Today I received an email from them denying all responsibility. I'm filing a report with his attorney generals office in New Jersey and in Pennsylvania. Never use this company. If only there was an option for negative stars. read more

Roofs they fixed (front and back of house) are still leaking. Was then told it was the siding in the front and back of my house that needed to be fixed and that was what actually caused the leaks. They were supposed to come back to replace the siding but they haven't come back, despite calling a bunch of times to try to get someone to come. If I could choose 0 stars that would be a better indication of my experience working with these people. Not only did they provide horrible service, they also charged me way over reasonable price. My roof had been leaking and I decided to call Union roofing. We scheduled an appointment and because I desperately needed this roof repaired, I did not do my inital research on how much I should cost. They charged me more than other companies would have. After the first repair, I noticed the problem had not been resolved. When I contacted them again about the same issue, they decided to tell me it was the roof siding that needed fixing and I had to pay them more money. I was perplexed and thought to get a quote from another company. The new roof company advised me that Union roofing did not do a good job at the initial repairs which is why my roof was still leaking. Long story short, Union roofing came out to fix my roof for the second time but still could not get my roof to stop leaking. My roof's interior suffered greatly because of this and now I need to work on getting rid of the mold and decay that built up from them not doing their job. I ended up calling another company to fix what this company could not and my issue was finally resolved. Union roofing charged me so much money and did not fix my problem at all, thank God I am not stupid because they attempted to get more money out of me by feeding me bs. I've used these guys in the past for a leak that was over my breaker box about 2 years ago. The leak stopped, but the price wasnt cheap. I've then searched for other companies for roofing jobs where I paid cheaper, but dealt with horrible customer service and in some cases unfixed leaks. I returned to Union for a job and met with Jimmy. Great dude! pointed out concerns without pressuring to get them taken care, sent pics while working, and also did a follow up. Frank came out and immediately blamed it on the siding people. he did a water test and let me tell you the water test is bull. I went through this for 3 years. finally got the siding company to come out and replace the very large dormer on the back of the house. still leaking. Frank still blaming the siding co. So he finally sent a guy out with muck (i wanted the metal too but he refused) Guess what? I was back and forth for almost two weeks to get someone from Union Roofing to come to my home and assess my roof. I did not appreciate the attitude I got over the phone when I was finally able to set a date and time. I had to take off from work to accommodate when someone was able to finally visit the job site. After all of the coordination the appraiser (Joe) took just two measurements and some quick pictures and said he would need to consult with his team to be able to provide a recommendation and appraisal for my situation. He claimed he would follow up but never did. I've reached out repeatedly to the direct phone line and the administration but no quote or follow up was ever conducted. This was a complete waste of time. Given the scope of other negative reviews and the lack of communication from them for my job I want to warn other homeowners to avoid waisting their time with this company. If you are able to get someone on the phone make sure the individual they send out is experienced and that your type of roof is something that falls within their purview of expertise. read more

My husband and I bought our first house this past winter in an area of the city that is quickly up-and-coming. Our house is a rehab, which couldn't have been better, since we are not very handy when it comes to fixing things. After about a month of living in our new abode, the roof began leaking in more than one spot. We had a few estimates done, but Joe from C.R. Thompson definitely "kept it real" for us. He was very personable and honest. Turns out, our rehabbed house had a patchwork roof, which explained the leaking everywhere. Joe gave us an estimate that seemed very reasonable, especially compared to our other estimates. Nearly 2 months went by as we tried to negotiate with the seller, but after zero luck (and much more rain and damage), we had to have it replaced. I called C.R. Thompson on a Monday and the roofers were out here by Tuesday at 7am - talk about quick service! Joe called me at 6am to confirm that they would arrive by 7. Joe himself inspected the job and briefed us on what they were doing, wrote up an invoice, explained it to me and answered any questions. We had a hole in our "newly installed" roof a month after moving in. At first, I was very leary as Joe missed our appointment window. He did, however, call me about half hour later apologizing and told me he'd be out in about another 30-40 minutes as he'd gotten tied up with a work problem at another site.
