DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!! I rarely write reviews but this needed to be done. So, I used this company because they are listed on my mortgage company's PHFA's "Approved HEELP Contractors" list. They came out and said they would do the work on flat roof, porch roof, and shed kitchen roof for a discount if we paid cash and had it done that day. We did it, and have regretted it immediately. They never provided us with the "Warranty" or "before and after pictures". We have had multiple leaks since, most recently yesterday. I called the company today and the man that answered the phone informed me "We don't keep records, we are old school" told me to have a nice day and ended the call!!!! In total shock. I called back to get his name so that I could make a complaint to the BBB and a very polite woman answered the phone. As I was explaining what happened to her someone started talking to her ( maybe the it was old school himself ) and she put me on hold. I had to hang up because I am at work. I dont even care if they want to fix the roof, I dont want them to touch ANYTHING I own. And just in case you read this sir, "OLD SCHOOL" kept amazing records, they just used paper. Still waiting for them to come out 2 months later. Was told by girl on the phone that they will come out the next day. I informed her that I have a warranty. Guess what. They never showed. I should have lied and said it was for new roof. I have had leaks on several occasions since they installed. Even got me to do a re-coating which I don't think they actually did because was told that after I felt for work, they left maybe 15 minutes later. I'm totally disappointed with this company, I paid too much for my roof coating. They also told me they were going to install roof insulation vents, they DID NOT install them properly. I have a video camera over looking my garage roof and I watched the roofer place the vents on the roof without opening a ventilation hole. Both are leaking call them the first two times came put some black stuff on the roof but it keeps leaking called again lady in the office said that someone was going to check the roof again. I honestly have never dealt with a company that treated potential clients the way Union Roofing has. I don't usually take the time to write extensive reviews, but Im still shocked by how unprofessional whoever I dealt with at Union Roofing was. Here is my experience: 1. Called Union Roofing to explain situation and left a message (leaking ceiling inside home thought to be due to roofing issue). 2. Got a return call at 5:30am the following day by a loud individual speaking way too fast and did not listen to the answers to my questions. I didn t think much of this and laughed it off because I was happy that someone called back promptly to address the issue. I was able to arrange a time schedule with the he gentleman of around 9-11am arrival to look at roof. I then verified this time with my tenant. 3. Got a call from Union roofing office staff responding to my message and saying they could be there from 12-3pm. I told them someone had called me already in the AM indicating 9-11am and that I verified this time with my tenant already but can change If needed. The girl told me to hold, and then the man from the AM call came onto the line screaming "WHATS THE PROBLEM I ALREADY SPOKE TO YOU THIS AM ILL BE TBERE BETWEEN 9-11" and hung up... ??? As if I was the one who called?? I was annoyed, but thought I'd let that be and move about my day. 4. I didn't get a quote until 2 weeks later...waited patiently. The quote included pictures and listed needs of the exterior stucco and roofing. cost was $3,000+. I'm not a roof expert so I called the office as requested to review the quote. I was put in touch with the same man and when I started to ask questions he said "do me a favor and look at the pics, its self explanatory, then you can call me back" and hung up the phone before I could speak. I called him again indicating that I did review the quote and I had questions about the need for the stucco work since Im not familiar with these procedures - was this something that was needed or was it affecting the leaking as well? **I'm in the medical field so stucco specifics aren't my strong point...** Before I could finish even that question, the man interrupted me saying "listen, if you're going to be asking questions and you don't want the whole thing done then you can just take your business elsewhere! (***which, I never said I didn't want the work done, I wanted all of it done because I understand there's many factors that influence leaking...I just wanted more of an explanation to make sure my 3k+ was going to necessary work and that I wasn't being ripped off***) And he hung up again. I have never been so disgusted with how someone spoke to me and was never disrespected like that in my life. 5. I called the office to see if someone else could review the quote with me, and the girls said they would have to put me back in touch with the same man because he did the assessment. I asked to speak to the manager and she said he wasn't available and would call me back. Called again a day later and got the same story. 6. Never got a call back and had 2-3 weeks of time lost and leak persisting 7. Hired someone else, had the problem resolved within 2 days at a FRACTION of the cost. You guys should really consider who you hire...Don't waste your time with rude people trying to rip you off. read more

I needed a small roof done and went with these guys. They seemed professional. Gave an estimate, followed up with me and came out on time to do the job. That's where it stops with the good stuff. It has leaked and they have been out 4 more times. Each time somebody different comes out to fix it and they give a different reason on why it is leaking. Keep in mind we had the roof replaced. When I called, the lady in the office was horrible. She wouldn't even help me unless I had the contract in hand. I would think they could look it up by name, address, or phone number. Something other than the contract. But she wasn't willing to help and that really turned me away. I had to request a supervisor. That's when she was able to pull up my info. Now I need a porch roof done. I won't be calling them for an estimate. The 2 stars is for being punctual and honoring the contract. read more

We were not provided a copy of a written warranty (just a receipt for payment)at time of service so when we called to have repairs done we were told the work was not covered. They've been uncorporatative throughout this process and still have yet to explain exactly WHAT IS covered under warranty. Can not recommend this company. My roof ("a 30 year roof") is barely 15 years old, and it needs to be completely replaced. Even the siding must be redone. Among defects identified by several responsible bidders in common: underlayment not correctly cut and secured, flashings not properly installed, shingles not correctly cut, shingle runs not secured with nails; siding not properly cut, capped or caulked (resulting in wood damage and leaks), and so forth. The contractors have also raised issues about the quality of materials (I.e., certain types of wear patterns and cracking should not be seen on premium asphalt shingles which Union ostensibly used) and siding (multiple types of siding used, "scraps" used instead of standard length runs, among other materials defects). Be forewarned if you use this Company: verify the materials that are used, and do not remit final payment until you get an independent contractor on the roof to review and approve the work. read more

BEWARE!!! I would NOT use this company!!! Please check their online reviews before hiring! We hired Union Roofing to replace and fix our leaking roof and skylight. December 2017 roofer comes out to check on the roof. He demands $1000 to re-coat the roof. I was told I would be out of warranty and the roof would not be covered for any leaks. This was never explained previously. I told him I'd prefer to wait until the weather breaks. Of course, the roof begins to leak immediately after the roofer went on the roof. There were no signs of leakage prior to this refusal to give them $1000 immediately. When I called to address the leak they were rude and unaccommodating. Their contract states there needs to have a re-coating within 3 years or the warranty is void. I explained to the roofer that I'd prefer to get the roof coated when the weather is not between 2-10 degrees. I was told I am out of warranty and the roof would not be covered for any leaks. I spoke to several roofers who state its best to wait until the weather permits to do a coating or there could be additional issues. When I bought that up to the roofer he ignored the fact that it has been below 20 degrees for the last month. When I called to speak with the owner the staff was rude. I was told he was unavailable and would not call me back. I was told a supervisor would call me. Still waiting... read more

I had Union Roofing come out and check on a leak that should have been fixed years ago. They first came out and recoated it but apparently the person that did the job before them hadn't don't the job correctly and it leaked again the very next day. I called Union Roofing back and they came out and unfortunately had to pull up part of the roof but they were able to find the problem and fixed it. It has rained four times since they found the problem and no leaks. I hope I don't have to but will definitely call them again if needed. read more

We've used these guys 3 times now and couldn't be happier. The first two times were in emergency situations and they were right on it. They even called me back on a Sunday during an Eagles game when a tree took out our roof! I loved the quick professional service from not only the employees who came to visit but also in the office. The scheduling and administrative follow up is as great as the roofing work. Then came the great compliment from our Allstate Adjuster AND their Roofing Expert (from Hancock Roofing I think?) After looking at the emergency repairs, the expert guy commented: "They did a fantastic job--sealed up and done properly. I don't say this often, but they seem to really know what they are doing. Hang on to them!" Hearing that from an outside "Expert" was reassuring, but these guys had already won us over 2 years ago after repairing a roof section that two other roofing companies attempted to fix and failed. It was a no brainer to have them replace the roof. (Which they did in the snow and freezing temps!) Joe went above and beyond to make sure everything was right and cleaned up afterwards. Scammers! Union Roofing was supposed to install a new roof on my home. Roof lasted less then 5 years. When asked to recoat the roof I was quoted another $900.00. When we inspected the roof we found nails pertrouding, overlapping material and places where the roof was not serviced. Not friendly or cost efficient business. read more

After many attempts by other roofing companies to repair my roof and many dollars later with no luck I found Union Roofing. I can't say enough good things about Union Roofing. They came out and gave me an estimate and could not of have been more professional. The crew came out as scheduled and completed the job in a timely and more importantly very professional manner. I couldn't even tell they had been there by the way they left my property, not one piece of trash or debris left behind. The price was much cheaper then the prices I had paid mentioned above. Upon completion of the job, my property was cleared of all debris. The contractor pointed out some additional work that needed attention. I was not pressured to have this work done immediately. This company is not honest. Will cheat, as it did with my elderly relative. it charged 3xs as much as the new roof was worth. That was after, it already got paid to repair a leak, which it didn't do. Took advantage of an old lady, suffering from dementia, and not only gave her an excessive price but had her sign to waive a 3 day waiting period the Unfair Trade and Consumer Protection Act provides. Richie told this poor lady suffering from dementia that the roof would fall on her head if not fixed, immediately. Funny that when the roof was repaired not a month before and on the prior complaint that the leak was not fixed, there was no mention of an emergency. Maybe that was because the first 2 times Union Roofer reps came to this house, a competent relative was present, who was not present the 3rd time when the roof continued to leak and allegedly the entire room needed replacing to avoid it falling on top of this lady, who lived alone. I think we've been waiting for a month and a half for an estimate from Richie. Obviously we've given up and won't be hiring Union Roofing but I wouldn't be surprised if we get a call after the winter is over asking if we still need work done. We had Richie come over to give us an estimate. He showed up on time. We liked him and he seemed trustworthy. He promised a written estimate within two days sometime in December. Still waiting. We needed a repair job on the roof wall, some fascia board replacement and capping. Additionally we offered him the window replacement jobs and brick re-pointing project. Several calls later and empty promises that the estimate was on its way, we never received it as promised. Any company that you have to work this hard to hire is not worth your time. read more

Very unprofessional - had roof inspected by a roofing expert who cited the 'new roof' from 2015 was showing extreme material failure that was not in line with a 2 year old roof. The cracking and alligatoring in photos could even be recognized by me, a person without any roofing experience. Union denied and deflected, also stating the warranty would be voided because 'people were up walking on the roof' then asked if the roof was leaking 'because if it's not leaking it's not a problem.' In order to keep the warranty active (transferred to us via homebuying) you need to recoat every 3 years - we just recoated in March for 30% of what the original 'new' roof cost in 2015... so that means if you pay the maintenance schedule you will have paid more over the full period of the 12 year warranty than it would have cost to put on a whole new roof. When I spoke to Union, they again deflected saying the original price was too cheap and a new roof would cost more yet this was the same person listed as doing the work on the original receipt. Something here is not adding up. I always need to call multiple times before getting a callback, and the team of roofers (including the owner, who I spoke with during the quality of work issue) are rude and evasive. They flat out said maintenance should be at least 1/4 of the price of a new roof and that their roofs would not last 12 years without any maintenance. This is clearly a money scam and I'll be happy to use Palmer in the future, who has been recommended to me as affordable, reliable, and thorough. I could go on about the other issues we experienced with Union but this paragraph is turning into a small novel. read more

Regretfully, there is not a button for negative stars. I hired Union to do a new build up of existing roof. On the day of the install, I had to bring my mother in for a knee replacement, which they were aware of. Over the course of four phone calls that day, the price more than tripled as they knew I was unable to come and look at the "new issues" that arose. I did finally make it home late afternoon, but strangely, all of the materials that had to be removed were not in the back of their dump truck.. Only about 1/3 of what would be expected was there. I was told the first load was dumped but the truck was in the same exact spot - they had parked on a newspaper earlier in the day and the same part of the headline was visible so I know the truck had not moved. The one day job turned into two days. On the second day, the had to borrow some of my tools as they did not have what was necessary. Conveniently, those were never returned. When I told Frankie the following day, it was denied. I am now in the process of having their work redone as I get air bubbles under the roof that can be as high as 6" and range from 2' to 6' in diameter. When I called Union to let them know I was pretty much told tough s#it - the warranty does not cover that. When people ask me as a former contractor who I recommend for a roof, I can only tell them who I DON'T recommend - and that is Union Roofing. read more

I has a new bay window installed by a local and well know Window Company. The very next thundershower, it was raining in my living room. Called the Window Company who came out and said - "Must be your roof". End of their help and concern. I called Union Roofing and Frankie came out immediately and inspected my roof and told me that the roof was fine but he thought it was the flashing and caulking on the new window. I hired them to caulk all seams on the roof and the around the new window. I also decided to have them do new siding on the front of the house since it was time. Gave me an estimate which I accepted. The work was done professionally without a bit of scrap left behind. Have not had a drop of water in or around the window since. Frankie even stopped by to make sure all was well after a bit of time. I love the work ethics of the workers in this company. I recommend them to my family and friends and neighbors all the time and would not use anyone else for anything that falls under their available services. read more
