Had the calzone. Tasty, but burned in oven. Dark....very dark. Server offered to make another, but I didn't want to wait while the rest of my party ate....and then have them all watch me eat when the second one arrived. Thought at least a couple bucks off the burned calzone would be appropriate, but no such adjustment. I'm one of the very few true locals in Union, WA -- a town of less than 1000 people. I live here. Restaurants in tiny towns need locals to return to ensure their survival. Not sure if/when I'll return in the future. This place was way better than we expected. As a deli in a small town, we weren't expecting much, but they had fantastic food and a lot of choices. The place was busy, but that didn't seem to be a problem--they opened up their second room right after we got there to accommodate people. We ordered a pizza, some drinks, and ice cream. All were great and highly recommended. It seems to be a local hang out spot (since there are only about 4 places to eat in Union), and they had live music on Friday nights. This place is also mostly accessible by wheelchair (I don't know why it says no). No steps to get in. You may have to ask people to move their seats so you can get to the front counter to order, but the wait service seemed accommodating. My fiancé booked reservations at Alderbrook Resort, a much needed staycay from the hustle and grind of Seattle. We ate at the property and some of the limited menu items were tasty & pricey. Stopped by here for breakfast after checking out of our cabin on Monday morning and had a great experience! When we arrived we were the only ones there besides the one young woman working. We were in no hurry and sat outside to be with our dog. I got the Western Wrap and my fiance got the three egg omelette. Both came out a bit slowly (It got pretty busy pretty quick and she was working alone for the most part but as I said, we were in no hurry.) The food itself was fantastic, my fiance raved about his eggs and it was the perfect amount of food for $8. They seemed pretty understaffed considering there was also a drive through thus the missing star but everything tasted great and the young woman working there was so sweet! My friend and I stopped in here randomly as were driving around exploring. We were hoping to find a little pizza place or something, and this is just what we found! The deli offers sandwiches, baked goods, and pizzas. We tried 'the barge' pizza which had pepperoni, sausage, black olive, mushroom, and onion. The waitress said it was the biggest seller. It took 10 minutes or so to get the pizza but that was fine. As we waited, we noticed the cool local photography in the bar area. People were using wi-fi and watching sports on tv. Seemed like a local hangout. When the pizza arrived, it was just what I wanted. Thinner crust, not too heavy on the toppings, but enough. I would like to come back and try other things here. Very poor service. I ordered a sandwhich and a beer ($4.00) I stood at the bar waiting for at least 6 minutes. Then the waitress / bartender arrives and commences to start pouring beers. After she poured 3 beers for other customers - she dissappears - I had made eye contact with her to reinforce the fact she knew I was to be served a beer while I was waiting for my sandwhich. The waitress then disappeared. I could not believe it since we had just talked when I placed my order. I asked the waitress / bartender why she didn't pour me the beer while I was standing directly in front of her and she told me she was busy. Then the OWNER comes up to me and asks if I have a problem with her "employee". Since I have been around the world a few times I thought I might give her an education on customer service. Instead I was asked to leave - LONG STORY SHORT ; THE SERVICE STINKS when they are crowded - it's all about money and under-staffing. I am a local and most people I know feel exactly the same way. No this is not a SOUR GRAPES story - It's the truth and an insight to how this place operates. The staff here is top notch! There is a lot of comfortable seating, a bar and live music on Friday's. They are always friendly and everything is made to order. We stopped by here to grab some food for a picnic at Twanoh State Park. The place is very simple but it had a very neighborly community vibe to it. The food felt very homemade with care and attention. We got the turkey bacon wrap, pizza and a taco salad. The choco chip cookies was awesome! I gave this place 5 stars because of a few reasons. First off we needed to feed about 15-20 people for my daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner after other plans failed. They whipped up 7 large pizzas with a smile and all of the pizzas looked great and tasted great. Everyone was amazed by the pizza ( a lot of us were from the Chicago area and we know our pizza!), how delicious it was and how hot it was after getting back to the park. The ladies making it were super friendly and they even have a little bar in there where you can get a beer while you wait, which we did. The crust was cooked completely and the outside crust was just a little chewy, heaven! All of the local people in our party asked where we got it and I am sure they will go back. Went to Union Square for dinner while staying at the Alderbrook Resort. It is only .5 miles away and the food options for a casual dinner were much better than the choices at the Alderbrook restaurants we had pizza and house salad which were tasty. Decent menu, good coffee, comfortable place for lunch. Slightly overpriced for the quality (they seem to use cheap low quality chicken,for example) and serving sizes. But it is still pretty good and the staff is friendly. They also have decent specials frequently...I like the smoked salmon stuff as well as their tomato soup on a rainy day. We stopped here for lunch on our way to a National Park nearby. My husband and I both ordered sandwiches. I had the pastrami which came on a beautiful marbled rye. What I loved about the sandwich was that it had great flavor and the bread was toasted perfectly so that the sandwich held together rather than fall apart like so many hot pastrami's can. My husband had the Dalby Decker which looked nice. My favorite part of the meal was the potato salad. I LOVED the curry powder that was added. Was staying nearby for a wedding recently. The young woman serving was very friendly and the food was very good and reasonably priced.

For the price you cannot beat it. Food was great and service was very good. A lot of the food seemed scratch made and not just store bought type of food that was thrown together. We had a BLTA (Bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado), Soup and Salad, Mini Pizza and Chicken Salad. All were very good and fresh. My salad had mixed greens that were very good and showed no signs of being old like you get at some restaurants. The pizza was delicious and the sandwich looked good as well. My wife said the soup and salad were also very good. One of the sandwiches came with a cookie which was one of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. Very thick and crisp on the outside and super moist and soft in the middle. I would definitely come back here when staying in the area or at Alderbrook. Main reason for trying was because the alderbrook restaurant is super expensive and I wasn't in the mood for dressing up nor spending $100 on a dinner for 3. read more

My wife and I are grateful for this deli in Union. Many times we watch as petty self absorbed people mistreat the wait staff. The owner and staff have welcoming smiles and are always accommodating. The deli is small and at times staff is limited. Wait times can increase around holidays and weekends. Regular customers understand this. However first timers or those who show up occasionally can be obnoxious in their demands. Some of these people need to put themselves in the place of these fine ladies and have some patience. read more
