I've been coming to this veterinarian since I moved to Uniontown, so around ten years. Since the beginning, the staff and the Vets have been helpful and very kind people. The staff always makes sure to be attentive to my dogs, and they make sure to explain procedures and answer all my questions. The building is spotless and up-to-date; it looks lovely, with a dedicated area for dogs and cats. There's a pretty big parking lot, too, so there's always a spot to park at. We are very happy with Uniontown vet clinic. Whenever we call, they make sure to fit our dog in as soon as possible. Our dog recently tore his ACL and they were very sympathetic and supportive during the x-rays and the preparation for the surgery. Due to the size of our dog, we did have to have the surgery somewhere else. The front desk staff was very amazing as well. read more

Gave my new puppy her shots... my puppy had never had shots before so she was nervous. My puppy was 10lbs the vet gave her a shot that was meant for a 12 pound dog. 10lbs doesn't look like 12lbs to me... This vet almost killed my dog. After the vet she got a ginormous hematoma on her left shoulder. Leaving her in excruciating pain every time we tried to pick her up. She was quivering like she was cold. Wouldn't eat, drink or potty at all. We called and they said "just give her some Benadryl" 100ml is so much for a 10lb dog so we had to estimate how much Benadryl to give her. We gave her abt 15ml. Never gave them another shot at ever seeing my dog again! I strongly would NOT recommend this place!!! read more

We recently had to take our Golden, Duke, in for emergency surgery for intestinal blockage. Turns out he had 3 spots! The team stayed extra late to get his surgery done. Duke was discharged with a great post surgery instruction sheet that was easy to follow when he needed his meds and what to look out for. Amazing service from vets and staff that truly enjoy caring for animals. They take the time to explain things and offer options if possible to fit budgets. The Vets are very knowledgeable and kind. They treat your pet as if it was their own. We had to put to sleep a dog last year and these vets did everything they could to help us attempt to get her better. And they were amazing and discussed with us at the end the process and why it was best to put her to sleep because of the pain she was in. It's one of the hardest things my husband and I have had to do and they made it so much easier. We still take other two dogs there and feel confident our dogs are receiving the best care. read more

I had taken my pets to Uniontown Vet Clinic for over 20 years. it was bought out by Dr. Gainey and his wife Angela in 2013. After a litany of errors with medications and treatments over the past two years, I finally made the decision to switch vets for the safety of my animals. idk t take writing a bad review lightly. However due to the dangers to animals at this practice, I feel I have a responsibility to warn others who love their animals as I love mine. I have two older small dogs. one is 15 and the other is 12. As with humans, their medical problems have increased over the years. the older dog requires three medications for stomach issues, appetite issues and recent heart failure issues. the 10 year dog developed a cancerous growth on his eyelid and his eye was removed. during the last two years Dr. Gainey started the process to build a new clinic and of course, COVID hit. Dr. Gainey made the decision to take on a a large number of new patients who were having difficulty finding vet care due to COVID and his practice grew quickly. in addition, there was a large turnover in office and vet tech staff during that time. The result seemed to be a situation of uncontrolled growth in the practice with a staff that was inexperienced, over worked and rude. I will start with the medication difficulties. The stomach meds that my older dog takes requires splitting into fourths. Because clients were calling for med pickup and not showing up to get them, That was never the case with me. Dr. Gainey instituted a new procedure for getting meds. they required a 24 hour notice prior to pick up. I saw that as completely reasonable. He also would not allow the medications to be split until the client was actually at the desk for pick up. the result of that requirement created chaos. splitting my older dogs meds into fourths was extremely time consuming, requiring a 45 minute to one hour wait. the office staff hated being rushed to fet the meds ready and were rude to,the clients as a result. I experienced several difficult and frustrating incidents due to this procedural change. First, the rudeness of the staff and the long wait for the meds to be split were time consuming and frustrating. during this time period I always called 24 hours in advance and sometimes a week in advance. I went to pick up the meds once and they didn't have it in stock. even after calling a week in advance, no one called me,to let me know it wasn't available until I showed up at the desk. On another occasion I called 24 hours in advance for the meds and was told to pick them up the next day. When I arrived the office was closed. There was a sign on the door stating that they were closed for a staff meeting. There was no reopening time posted. I had to return the next day and sit and wait for the meds to be split. It turned into a two day process of dealing with rude office staff and a long wait for the meds to be ready. My next med request, with at least a week advance call, really turned into chaotic situation. I had inadvertently scheduled a doctors appointment for the same day. I knew that I could miss that appointment, depending on the wait for the meds at the vets office. I called and asked the girl who answered if I could pay for the meds over the phone with a credit card so that they could start the splitting process before I arrived. Theis girl lit into me like a crazed banshee! She ranted on about how she liked her job and she was sure the vet did too and she was not going to start the meds until I was standing at the desk. I didn't reply to her because I had to get to their office quickly if I was to be able to make my doctors appointment. When I arrived, there was no one around except the girl who had ranted at me on the phone. I told her in no uncertain terms that I didn't allow people to speak to me that way and she was never to do that to me again. she continued to argue. I happened to see Dr. Gainey and stopped him to tell him of the situation. He behaved as if I had done something wrong and said he would talk to the girl and get their perspective. I was shocked! He was rude and condescending!. At that point, I knew I would change vets. However, my 10 year old dog had developed the growth on his eye lid and I wanted to wait u til I had a good understanding of his situation before making a change. I wasn't sure what we were dealing with because of Dr. Gainey behavior during the office visit to have that growth checked. I discovered the growth when it was quit small. I could see that it was spreading so Imscheduled an appointment with Dr. Gainey. he walked into the room, looked at the growth and said, that's got to come off, $1,200. 00 dollars! I was stunned as I was trying to determine his motives. I didn't want my dog to have unneeded surgery and anesthetic so I suggested that we try treating the growth with medication before jumping into surgery. avoid this vet, huge medical errors were mad read more

We transferred our animals from another office. Big mistake! These guys are all about the money over priced especially since moving into new office. Had my cat in for surgery a few weeks ago and cat started vomiting up bile and foam. The cat had not eaten much for a couple days so called today to see if I could get him in today to be checked out. I was told they were scheduling 2 weeks out. I told them if a cat doesn't eat well for more than a few days there could cause serious liver damage and death. I was told to take to an emergency vet clinic or schedule for 2 weeks from now. With that I'm done with these over priced prima-donnas. If you can't get into a vet when you need them during normal business hours then they obviously don't have any dedication to helping animals ... only their wallets. read more

I do not write reviews much. I DO feel like I need to let others know this vet is severely over priced! We did a spay and declaw on the front of our kitten. They never gave an estimate first off. Then WE call the next day to see when to pick the kitten up. We get there and they charged us $460+ dollars!! This is outrageous. We went here to help with local businesses but all we got was a vet clinic that we will NEVER revisit. When we called the lady said she would check with her manager on " what she should do". I am all for local businesses but this is highway robbery! The placed is very dated so I'm not sure where all the moneys going? Must be to the owners pocket. Unacceptable read more

The vet tech was very unprofessional the last 2 visits we had there. We will be looking for a new vet when I asked to have my 4 year old rescue dog titter tested she got very defensive told me it would cost more to titter than to vaccinate so why would I do it. I don't believe in over vaccinating my dogs do the research it can cause more harm to your pet. When I insisted on the titter test she had the nerve to say well you vaccinate your kids don't you! Dr Baltic was in the room at the time and never even corrected her mouth vet tech. Last time I was in the same vet tech hit on my son trying to set up her daughter with him, how unprofessional is that? I feel for her poor daughter, the lady even told my son her daughters work schedule trying to get him to go and meet her, as we were leaving that day she had the nerve to tell my son she would be seeing him at the dinner table! My son insisted he would never be going back to that vets office! When I found a better price on heartgard and ordered through Drs Foster and Smith the office lady called and wanted to price match, I chose to still order elsewhere, if it was a caring place they wouldn't be trying to make money off of the medicines in the first place saved over 60 ordering elsewhere even without the refund! If you want a professional staff and a comfortable vet experience please do yourself a favor and find another vet office. Dr Baltic didn't even examine my dogs teeth and still ran a heart worm test when I told them he just had one done in Jan even gave them the paper work from our GA vet to prove it. For about 7 years had my dog POOK in the care of Dr Balic.. at Uniontown Vet Clinic.. She was so professional and so sweet..Explained everything she did.. My dog loved her.. and took really good care of her.. Professional and also with great compassion.. Last year she Died .. Dr Baltic did all she could do.. but she was just to ill.. I took her there and they had her cremated.. Again they handled her with so much compassion.. I highly recommend Dr Balic and also her staff.. I received a sympathy card with all their names on it.. and my dog was put into a beautiful carved wooden box with her name engraved on it.. I highly recommend Uniontown Vet Clinic.. read more

My daughter found you as an alternative to going up to Akron for an ultrasound. When she was bringing her dog in, he died in the car. Dr. Blankenship offered to do an autopsy so they would know the cause of death. Because of his kindness I brought in my cat Tinkerbelle to see if he could do anything for her. She had a growth under her eyelid that my vet could not do anything about and wanted to send us to a specialist in Akron that would have cost thousands. Dr. Blankenship felt he could do the surgery on her. She is now a beautiful kitty again and we have high hopes that he was able to get all the cancer. So far so good. The staff there is quite good and caring. I have since taken 2 other cats to them for checkups and another that I had to send home. They are very compassionate and caring about your pet. read more

I wanted to comment on Uniontown Vet Clinic on June 1,2017 my husband and I made the humane decision to have our 20 year old cat Scarlett be put to rest in God's hands.She had been a mammory gland survivor twice and we had an extra 8 to 9 years with her. I would call her Princess Scarlett. What a sweet and wonderful cat she was.We miss her so much.We could not afford the fee charged by my current Vet so I called Uniontown Vet Clinic and they fit us in that day.The staff was so nice and kind to us on a very sad day we were about to face.The Vet was Dr.Aver or Auer. I was upset and could not read my own writing.She was also very kind and showed our Scarlett Love as soon as she walked in and met her.What a calming experience we had that day with our precious cat and we Thank all of you who assisted us.May God Bless all you you Richly. Last Tuesday I took my sick animal to the Uniontown Veterinary Clinic, a business that I have been using since 1978. I have never failed to pay my bill. Even when I moved 70 miles away I continued to use their services. Even when it changed ownership in 2009 I continued with them. I will allow you to be the judge here of my experience. My pet had stopped eating for one and one half days, was voiding however not defecating, and vomiting. Upon exam and based on previous blood work they were concerned of a possible blockage or tumor and wanted to get some x-rays. Seemed reasonable however I explained that I was tight on cash right now and a week away from payday. They gave me an estimate of $178 and I agreed. The x-ray reveled a great deal of stool in his intestines. They gave him some fluids, meds for nausea, and special food for gastritis and let me take him home to see if he would eat. However he continued to vomit and not eat, and became more lethargic. On Friday I took him back and they said that since he was still not defecating they would treat him with an enema, blood-work, and additional x-ray. Estimate $ 260, I agreed even though it was causing me severe financial distress. When I picked him up Friday evening the doctor based on x-ray was still concerned with an area in his intestines that she was unsure of and the next step would be exploratory surgery. Estimate $600 to $1200. I explained that I just didn't have that much in my account. I could pay some and postdate a check however that was not acceptable. The owner was out of town and they couldn't approve anything. I left with my pet and he continued to not eat, still was vomiting, and becoming more lethargic. On Monday being very concerned for the health of my pet I called to see if we could move forward with treatment. They told me to bring him in however I would need to pay a $600 deposit. When I explained that that was not possible because I didn't have that amount today however I could pay$300. I was told they would have to call the owner to see if they would take less get back to me. When they called back they said I need to pay the $600 deposit and leave credit card for further charges. While it may seem reasonable to require a large deposit for surgery, I was given no other options other than paying $600 for my very sick pet. At this time I inquired the cost for his records and x-rays and was told no charge. I could pick them up around 2PM. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Larson at the Veterinary Wellness Center in North Canton. They would call Uniontown Vet to get the records and save me the trip. I showed up for the appointment and they were still trying to get the records and the x-rays were in a format that they could not read. They called and asked them to send them again however they still could not read them. I then drove to Uniontown vet to get a hard copy of the x-rays only to return with a blank cd!!!!! I am very thankful to Dr. Larson and his staff for them caring enough to help me today. I would suggest their office to anyone who is looking for compassionate and quality care for their pets. As for Uniontown Veterinary clinic you can decide if their actions toward a customer of thirty plus years was caring and compassionate. read more

Dr. Jeremy Blankenship and all of his staff at the Uniontown Vet Clinic in Uniontown, OH are absolutely wonderful. Our dog was very, very sick and Dr. Jeremy was able to perform emergency spleen removal surgery to save our baby. Dr. Blankenship described to us his own personal story about his beloved German Shepherd how he went through a very similar situation with him and we were grateful that he shared his story with us and he was able to help our baby through this really tough time. My gratitude can not be expressed enough to Dr. Blankenship and his wonderful staff, the surgical lead tech and her team and everyone at that office! I HIGHLY recommend him and his team to anyone who owns a pet and wants the absolute best care for their pet!
