The only thing unique abt this cleaners is how careless they are regarding items that are being cleaned. They send your items off to a third party to have them wash and send it back. Which means they have no control over how they wash delicate clothing and the items take a lot longer than expected to be ready for pickup. My brand new shirt is embellished with gold monogram flower hardware around the neckline which I specially said please be very careful and gentle with. It came back and guess what???Careless. The hardware has a string that totally fell off and they somehow have punched a small hole on the bottom of the shirt. Like okay my shirt is totally damaged now. If they couldn't have done the job without damaging my shirt, he could've just denied me as a customer. I would've preferred that over a damaged shirt. Come on, get it together. Never again. Def don't recommend this spot unless you don't care abt your clothing. read more

I recently moved to San Marino and discovered this dry cleaning spot in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, they washed all my clothes, including cashmere sweaters and down coats, using water in the washing machine. As a result, my sweaters shrank to the size of an 8-year-old's, and the fur on my Canada Goose coat got shrank and damaged from the wet and dry process. When I returned the items, they offered to enlarge my sweater back to its original size, but it didn't work, and the coat's fur collar was further damaged. I found out they outsource the cleaning to a third party, which doesn't seem to properly care for the items, with no quality control. For many years of using dry cleaners, this has never happened--no one would ever water-wash cashmere or down coats. I won't be coming back to this store. I don't recommend this store to any family and friends! read more

I was on the hunt for a new dry cleaner after my usual spot got too pricey, and I needed something close by that wouldn't break the bank. I found Unique Cleaners on Yelp. They didn't have a ton of reviews, but the ones they had were super positive, so I figured why not give them a shot? I took a few shirts there just to test them out, and I've got to say, they came back looking great -- clean, perfectly pressed, no issues at all. The price was pretty reasonable too. When I first started going, button-downs and polos were $3.75 each. I found out this past weekend that polo shirts went up to $4.50, which is a bit of a bummer, but the button-downs are still $3.75. So, compared to other places, it's still a decent deal. Plus, the service is friendly, and the location in San Marino on Huntington is super convenient. There's plenty of parking, and I've never had to wait in line. They also recently fixed their credit card machine, so you don't have to worry about carrying cash anymore. They do ask that you pay up front, which is a little different, but I get it -- they're a small business, and that probably helps with cash flow. All in all, I've been really satisfied with Unique Cleaners. As long as their prices stay fair and they keep up the quality service, I'll keep coming back! read more

Great place to go for locals. They charge $3.50 per shirt for cleaning and basically $8.00 for dress pants and jackets. Their turnaround is five days, or depending how fast you need your clothes back. I'm not sure if there is an expedite fee. The funny part was they forgot to call me after my clothes were cleaned. I came in on a Thursday afternoon to drop off my bridesmaid dress to get dry cleaned. It had a ton of wrinkles in it and I wanted to get them out before my friend's big day. I walked in, and could tell it is definitely a small family shop. I was greeted at the desk and was told my dress would be done by Wednesday, but that he could contact me if it was done earlier. I ended up picking up my dress on Wednesday for a dry cleaning total of $14. I was a little sad that it wasn't available for earlier pick up as the owner said the estimated time needed is 2-3 business days. The process of measuring was really easy and quick which I appreciated as I was on my lunch break. The only thing that was a little unexpected about the situation was the cost. I knew it was going to cost more than regular tailoring for a wedding dress, however, I think I just wasn't fully prepared as to how much it would be on top of the money I had already spent on my dress. If you or your child has worn a pleated uniform skirt you know that this is not what "pressed" looks like. I was willing to pay the high price thinking I was guaranteed a quality service. I didn't think I'd return to this establishment sooner than expected and I also didn't expect to write an update but today I felt compelled to bc of the great customer service I received this morning. On Tuesday I took in a white boucle blazer and a skirt and asked if it could be done on or before Saturday bc I would like to wear the skirt for an event that evening. The owner said he'll try. It isn't a big deal if it wasn't finished on Saturday since I have a backup outfit to wear. I got a text on Thursday saying my order is ready for pickup (wow! that was quick!). Saturday morning I came by around 10am and saw that they were closed. I thought that maybe they changed their business hours without notice. So I called and the owner answered. Turns out he was running late due to a last minute delivery for a customer. He said he'd be at the establishment in about 20 minutes. I told him I'd wait and that it wasn't a hassle for me. When he arrived he handed my order and comped the bill ON THE HOUSE. I didn't expect that since I was ready to pay regardless. It was a nice gesture, thank you so much! If I could give this cleaners zero stars I would. When my friend and I stopped in to see if my cleaners was ready we were both treated horribly by one of the owners. And my friend is a marine veteran and simply asked if the cleaners provided Marines with discounts as do many companies in California. The owner was very offended by that and then turned nasty towards both of us. In fact when I first brought my clothes to this cleaners and I asked the owner's wife to please tell me the difference between this cleaners and the competitor cleaners in the neighborhood, especially because this cleaners calks itself "unique" she was offended by that question and got an attitude with me. I should've never left my clothes at that point. But it's pretty sad if you own a cleaners and you don't know how you're different from your neighboring competitors, especially when the name of your cleaners is "unique." So this morning I went to the cleaners to pick up my clothes only to find that the cleaners doesn't open up when they are supposed to...8am. In fact I left my job to drive to the cleaners after it was supposed to open only to find that it was still closed at 10 after eight. For the next 10 minutes I called and there was still no answer at the cleaners. So I drove back to my job. I went back to work and returned to the cleaners just recently at 9:15. Of course I'm assuming it would definitely be open. So I arrived here only to find that it is still closed because there's a note on the door that says " be back in 20 minutes."So once again my time is being wasted because of some incredibly arrogant, rude and unprofessional people who don't deserve my business. as I sit here and wait until they decide they would like to come to Cissus as they're supposed to two other customers showed up complaining about the same thing. Their time has been wasted because they came earlier during business hours only to find no one here. And so far this 20 minutes that they are supposed to be away has turned into at least 30 minutes.
