After maybe one too many missteps I now have to leave this review. We've hired Unique multiple times over the course of maybe a year now. They are generally prompt and call if there is a delay for some reason. Almost every time I was happy to have my place nice and clean and smelling fresh. A couple times there were small things that I was willing to overlook in the grand scheme of things. However, this latest time the floor to one of my bathrooms was not cleaned. Not swept, not mopped, no NOTHING. So now I'm left wondering about the overall cleanliness of one of my bathrooms. When hiring a cleaning service, I'm not really interested in micromanaging to ensure the job is done satisfactorily. Since I became a new mom my husband has generally handled the scheduling of appointments with Unique but I may have to take the duties back over and go a different direction. read more

This is my 2nd time using this company- the first time was 5 Star this recent time not at all! Took two hours and the foyer and powder room floors were not done . There is still visible dirt and foot prints that were there the day before.The master bathroom floors were only mopped in open spaces not under the vanities were not mopped and lastly I had to show them a pan that was not cleaned and they rushed and "washed" it and it was still greasy and dirty. I am very impressed with this cleaning service and the thoroughness of the staff. Our apartment is roughly 900 square feet, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. For this last appointment, it took roughly 1.5 hours to clean the entire apartment (2 people were cleaning). Windows are generally $3/window so I omitted this service the last time, but did it my first time. These ladies fold, mop, scrub, vacuum, organize and bring a sense of order to clutter. Last update and a further downgrade to 1 star. A month after emailing the company to complain that about the gas being left on by my last cleaning crew, I received a brief email apology followed by the keys being returned to me by certified mail - wrapped in an outer envelope, an inner envelope and a blank piece of paper. I would expect a cleaning company to pay very close attention to detail in all that it does. If I were returning keys for a cancelled service, I would have enclosed a note with the keys -- what if I hadn't checked my email? I would have tried to call the client to apologize. I would have also considered at least refunding the client the cost of one cleaning as a gesture of goodwill. None of those things happened. I can't recommend this business to anyone. read more

Unique cleans my home every week. It's 4 stories and quite large - and we have a dog and 4 cats indoors so it gets pretty hairy in here. Every single week without fail, I am elated by their performance. I'm very picky about the quality of cleaning and I have yet to find a single issue with their work. Every cushion and pillow is vacuumed. Furniture moved to get the dust bunnies. Every area rug is taken up so the hard woods can be mopped. Beds changed. Countertops and cabinets wiped down. Mirrors and light switches and window sills all cleaned. Every square inch of floor is mopped and vacuumed. Every trash can, recycling bin, and even the paper shredder is emptied. And there's nothing nicer than finding your toilet paper folded into a little rosette. They are on time and work like cleaning tornados without a break. Honestly, I can not gush enough about how much they do, how well they do it, and how reasonable the cost. They are truly exceptional! read more

I'm stunned they don't have higher reviews. Sintia, Alezaida, Silvia, and Marjorie recently cleaned my home. It was a huge undertaking as it's a big house and hadn't been professionally cleaned in years. They scrubbed years of grime away from every nook and cranny. They even cleaned the radiators the chandelier! They were detailed and hard working. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they were, I would certainly recommend them! read more

The MOST unprofessional cleaning service in MD/DC/VA area. Angel is the most incompetent and unprofessional manager I have ever dealt with. I used this service for over a year and after dealing with cleaning crew showing up over an HOUR LATE and rearranging my entire day to accommodate them I have to deal with complaints of not wanting to load a dishwasher!!! If I'm paying $1800-$2000 annually for cleaning one would assume cleaning the kitchen is included. Just last month their vacuum cleaner broke and on top of paying them I allowed them to use my supplies. I will be posting to my community Facebook with over 600 residents and letting them know to use a more professional and courteous company. Save yourself the headache and money! read more

He now has a larger group of people, but still the nicest, most personable folks. Angel's peeps are thorough and efficient. Extremely trustworthy! I also know for a fact that I am one of his gazillion clients and yet they do not treat me that way. I was a long time customer with Unique. They started out pretty good and slid into average at best. Their staff is being pushed to complete more and more homes in a day and they aren't really able to do their best work. Also, beware if something gets broken and you have a claim. Things break from time to time, I get that. And on two occasions I was able to get a satisfactory result after Unique cleaned our home. But on two separate occasions I was not able to get Unique to own up to their mistakes and take care of things in a timely or satisfactory manner. This last incident, after dodging my calls for two and a half weeks, I finally fired them. There are a lot of places to clean your home, look for a better one. read more

I'm so pleased with Unique Cleaning Solutions. I hired them after I'd tried a Groupon with another company with no real website, who never showed up the day of, wasting an afternoon for me. After that, I decided I needed to go with a company that was organized, had online appointment booking and confirmations. Being able to pay online was an added bonus. Someone from the company called me after I inquired about setting up a first visit online. We went over the size of the house, if there was anything special, pricing and time frame. The day that the team of two ladies come out, they came right on time. I was surprised by how much they accomplished and the nice extra touches, even paying attention to tissues in the tissue boxes! Most importantly, the house was not just pleasantly clean on that day, but it stayed clean for a while. I didn't need to sweep or dust for days, which is really unusual for us. I appreciated the use of Green products as well - we have a dog and I didn't want anything toxic used around the house. I needed a cleaning the next day to prepare for a surprise apartment inspection. Unique was able to fit me in on short notice and find a time slot that worked. The cleaning team did an amazing job not just getting the general layer of dust and inevitable dog hair off everything, but really making the place shine. It was a huge relief to come home to a clean apartment and find everything taken care of before the inspection. Their rates are really reasonable, and they called me to confirm that it was okay to take extra time beyond the initial quote before proceeding (which I was totally fine with, since the place was...kind of a wreck). Unique cleaned my 3 story cape cod house yesterday. They did a wonderful job! They were on time, and cleaned very well in the 3 hours they were allotted. I really enjoyed how they cleaned the sofa and left it with those beautiful lines. I also liked the stainless steel cleaner they used on the kitchen appliances. Since I live in a three story house, not everything is going to be completely spotless, but again they only had 3 hours to clean and they did a great job. The reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because the tile floors still had some smudges on them and also, I noticed this blue liquid on the carpet upstairs. I'm sure it's from their cleaning fluid, but I had to use resolve to get it out of the carpet. I would definitely still use them next time though! read more

From setting up the appointment, to the crew and actual cleaning, to the follow up and payment, everyone was very responsive and everything was very easy and not stressful. This place is amazing.. I paid for first time (deap cleaning), which costed me $165 with $35 coupon. I was really impressed by how professional they were.. They were running about 15 minutes late due to DC marathon traffic and called me to warn me. When they arrived, there were 2 maids and they were both very friendly and hard working. They did an amazing job. My place is sparkling. Every surface is shiny, including my cabinets, which I saw them wipe down. They vacuumed and mopped my wood floors and rugs. They changed my bed sheets, and folded the random laundry that was sitting on my chaise lounge in my bedroom. They orgalized some of the stuff I had on table tops, etc.. They cleaned my microwave and stove top, they even removed the knobs. They got the gross caked in crap that was on my stove top.. They wiiped the baseboards.. The bathrooms are pristine. Well everything is pristine, every surface, etc. They even found my vacuum, and neatly arranged it They asked me if everything was to my liking before they left.
