We booked recurring office cleaning services with Progressive and had an extremely poor experience. Multiple teams they sent were unprofessional, rude, and did not clean properly. When we raised concerns on several occasions, the attitudes of some team members worsened rather than improved. During subsequent visits, staff made condescending and inappropriate remarks, creating an uncomfortable work environment. There was also an incident of petty theft that was caught on camera. When we confronted the company, the item was returned, but no meaningful action or accountability followed. On multiple appointments, teams arrived and claimed "nothing needed to be cleaned" and attempted to leave without performing services. It became clear that the company did not take our concerns seriously or care about maintaining professional standards. Overall, this was a very disappointing and stressful experience, and we would not recommend this company for office cleaning services. (Update) And they are lying. I have many emails showing proof of theft and the team acknowledging the theft, of the conversations with the team of them returning the stolen items. These guys are scoundrels. Attached is the table they said they couldn't clean, I used a simple spray and a paper towel and able to easily clean it. Very disappointed with their customer service. I requested a deep move-out clean, to include deep clean of carpets on one stairwell and the finished basement. The owner replied saying that was included in the move-out cleaning (see attached photo). Today, my landlord did the walkthrough and informed us that the carpets hadn't been cleaned. When I reached out to the owner, she said carpet cleaning wasn't included and isn't even offered by this company. What? When I showed her the screenshot of my initial request and her confirmation of services, instead of a "sorry, I missed that part," she doubled down and told me I must have misunderstood. Uhhhh nope. Very responsive and were able to adhere to a very tight scheduling window on relatively short notice for a move-out cleaning. I think I only gave less than a week notice and needed cleaning scheduled on a specific day. Would have been a 5-star review but the initial estimate of $300 was underpriced. Notified day of, of the increase at which point I had no choice but to proceed. They did give a 10% discount for the inconvenience but it still ended up at $420 for a 3br/3ba, 2000sqft townhome. I think that is reasonable but I wonder if the other quotes I had received in the $200-300 range would have stuck to their initial estimates. read more

We just did a renovation project and our construction crew had cleaners come in, but I wanted some extra attention to the details which is why I hired Progressive, as they claim to do professional post-construction cleaning. If I could rate zero stars, I would. Our arrival window was 12pm-1pm and the cleaners arrived at 2:30pm, 1.5 hours late. They came in frantic and barely listened to my instructions. I had to beg the lead cleaner to stop randomly cleaning things that were already clean and come with me so I could explain what actually needed to be cleaned. I asked the crew to clean windowsills, blinds, inside kitchen cabinets and drawers, ledges and baseboards, our utility room in the basement, and vacuum basement floors. The team did not follow my instructions and the majority of what I asked for was not completed. They were in my home for 5 hours with 3 people, a total of 15 hours worth of work with barely any results. On top of that, I came to check in 3 times and all 3 ladies were always huddled chatting in the same room of the house. On one instance, a bucket of water was filled, wet and splashing, and was placed on our brand new carpets. I had to go get a tarp for the cleaner to use and request they not put buckets full of water on the carpet. I have reached out to Evelyn, the owner, with photographs of dust and dirt in windowsills, drawers, ledges that weren't even touched, the list goes on. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, she refused to send a crew to correct the issues and demanded payment in full for the hours "worked." It's really sad to see a company billing by the hour and not standing by the quality of their service. We have not had much luck with cleaning services around here and have generally felt like many of the "popular" companies overcharge for their quality of work, but Progressive was great! Day of, Jason called on the early end of that window stating the cleaners were 15 minutes away. Three ladies showed up, quickly got to work, and completed the cleaning almost three hours exactly. They were all very nice, detailed in their cleaning, and super efficient! The one that cleaned the kitchen had the refrigerator looking better than when we moved in! I will redo this review once the service is fully done if it warrants it, but right now I am not very happy. I was quoted for 1.5 hours of cleaning by progressive cleaning. I mainly wanted to focus on the bathrooms (2) and kitchen, with primarily vacuuming and dusting in the bedrooms (2). We do a decent job of keeping our place clutter-free and daily wipe-downs, but getting a good clean once a month is a nice add-on. I just got a call stating that the team (3 workers) needed almost double to time to clean and they wanted to know if I wanted them to stop cleaning at the quoted time and have them focus on a couple of things in the time they have left, or pay almost double to have them finish. I have had cleaners come in before for a few months and it would take 2 workers about 1.5 hours to clean our condo. I am not sure why it is taking 3 cleaners almost 2.5 - 3 hours to clean today. I know different companies have different standards, but this feels like a bait and switch. The bid for the job was on par with several other places and I went with them based on reviews and some complaints about shady pricing practices at other companies, but now it is going to be the most expensive cleaning place and I feel like I was subjected to a shady pricing practice. I would not have chosen this company if I had been told that it would be this much for a clean. Very disappointed. I told the person on the phone to finish the clean but that I would no longer be using them as a company. As I said at the beginning, I will update this review if I feel like the cleaning is somehow more thorough or deeper than other cleaners I have had, but I just have a hard time picturing myself being happy with a new estimate of 300-330 for a clean. I think it would be better - although a little more time-consuming for companies to come and do an inspection and provide a quote to set up a service based on the actual size of the condo. That way they can have a sense of what it would take versus trying to do quotes over the phone or virtually and then screwing the customer over when the job is somehow larger than they anticipated (which in this case I do not think it is a large job that warrants the change). Now I see they have broken a small soap shelf off the wall. While both the cleaning staff and the support person, Jason, I spoke with on the phone was apologetic and professional, this is just the nail in the coffin for me working with Progressive Cleaning. I get that things happen but all of the challenges amount to too much of a hassle and cost to do business with them. Very disappointed. Edit - I just spoke with the owner Evelyn. She was also very apologetic and agreed to make things right. The cleaners ended up leaving 20 minutes after the quoted time - so much less than the extra 60-90 minutes that Jason had originally though they would extend. I told her I was good with paying for the extra 20 minutes of time, but she decided to wave the extra time due to all of the hassle I endured today. She is going to call me back when they have a plan to repair the soap shelf in the bathroom. The cleaning overall is good, though not discernibly different from when I had other cleaners. Depending on how the repair goes, I will update the review accordingly. TLDR: if the quote is too good to be true, it probably is. Quoted $125 (then admittedly added 3 more things to in my mind get to the minimum of $180) and was charged $494.00. They also exploited an 80 year old who was NOT the client. They refunded the cost of the unapproved cleaning in the end and admitted there was not communication between the cleaners and the business regarding who was paying despite having an agreement before they arrived that I would be paying with a credit card. I even asked if I needed to have my card there. This further exemplifies the lack of communication when conducting business. Hopefully if you choose to hire this business I would recommend being very clear about your budget and getting numbers once the cleaners have evaluated your home. I will try to keep this brief. I try to be a reasonable customer everywhere I go. I do not appreciate the bait and switch on pricing from this business. The actual quality of the cleaning was pretty good, it is unfortunate we will likely not be hiring them again. For Mother's Day I decided to get my parent's house cleaned. I reheated quotes using Yelp's system. This was the cheapest by a LONG shot. Other businesses quoted me $330-450 this quote was for $125 but the minimum is $180, so I asked for three more things (vacuuming two sets of carpeted stairs and cleaning just the shower of another bathroom) to hopefully pay just $180. My family has suffered a loss and I understand the house required a deep clean (which is why i hired a team vs doing it myself) however I was incredibly shocked that the total ended up being just under $500. The coordinator did communicate to me that it would be more for what I asked after the quote and depends on how long it would've taken based on the condition of the house. During the service I was called and asked if they could go 40 minutes over, I said sure but asked how much that would be and was told it would be "40 minutes on top of the total". Unclear about actual dollar amount but fine, I was at the office and figured it couldn't possibly be that much. Turns out it's an hourly rate of $120.00 and being quoted 125 for an open concept floor with two bathrooms and a kitchen feels dishonest. I do not appreciate the bait and switch. I explained this, that if there were communication about the hourly rate- or even the cleaners expectations upon getting to the house- I would've felt less shocked. It's unclear to me how something that could've been communicated by the team to the coordinator was saved for the end. I'm happy to pay people a fair price for work completed, again the clean itself is pretty good! However the lack of clarity and communication is simply shady business imo, according to other reviews this is not the first time this has happened with this business. Unfortunate. Thankfully I had budgeted for a bigger gift but if I hadn't, this would be something that could've ruined someone's budget easily. EDIT: upon further reflection, and the lack of clarity and response from the business is crazy unethical. Returning to the quote - it was not explained that the team breakdown price even though Evelyn says it was. All it says is that it is 120/hr. I was called to approve an additional 40 minutes. At the rate provided in the quote it should be an additional 80 dollars to the initial 180 quote. What's even more inappropriate besides the blatant lack of clarity and up charge, is that despite me asking if I needed to have my credit card there physically and agreeing with Evelyn that I will pay an invoice online after the fact is that the cleaners went up to my dad - a grieving 80 year old with cognitive issues- and asked him how he was going to pay. He was told I was paying after the fact but he says they asked him to pay $450 cash or check. He gives them cash. This is COMPLETELY unethical as 1. He's not the client 2. We had an agreement I would pay online 3. They did not provide an invoice or receipt to him at the time. How was he supposed to know?? There was no paperwork. Upon airing my issues with this business they have straight up lied about what was agreed on and what was said to me before the service was provided. By their math, they owe me $234.00. Again- I'm happy to pay for quality work and I almost never complain to businesses but frankly I'm shocked that this business is ran this shadily. For people considering them I HIGHLY suggest getting a detailed quote and verifying with them when they get to the site before they have the chance to up charge you. EDIT: I got a refund for the unapproved amount, I will say I hope my experience makes sure that they are clearer with people in the future. I will not be rebooking with them but am glad to see them take accountability and send the refund for the up charge.
