Beware!! Now in the process of working with a lawyer. Over $6000 worth of our items were damaged or stolen. This has been a month unresolved process. We have tried disputing and filing fraudulent charges with our bank, but if you willingly give them your credit card for the job- it is moot. Therefore, we are working with a lawyer to resolve this issue. Using Unique Moving and Storage services from November 2, 2023 packing up, loading, and moving Mr. Reid's items out of his home to the merchant's storage unit, storing them to then unloading and unpacking the items March 1, 2024- Mr. Reid's belongings were always and only in the possession of Unique Moving and Storage. Kelley Reid, the customer, never signed any documents about protection plans provided or that "all of the goods and services were delivered in good condition." Regardless, the contract does not cover theft, therefore the contract would be null and void. Mr. Reid contacted Camarillo Police Department RB#: 24-27391 on March 4, 2024 reporting the stolen items. The merchant's supervisor and employees informed Kelley Reid that the previous crew that packed up and moved his family out had been fired due to not being highly credible people: beating girlfriends, drugs, theft etc. and they acknowledged they know the two individuals who stole the items that were never received. Kelley Reid asked if the merchant would file a police report and the merchant responded that they would not now that the two individuals whole stole the items are dead: fentanyl overdose and the other hung himself. All Mr. Reid's items were promised to be stored and provided back to him in the same condition as they were initially. The merchant is responsible and liable for stolen property due to their employees and all damaged items. The merchant also records all of their phone calls to prove items were stolen and not missing. Mr. Reid did contact the merchant the day of delivery and took pictures as did the merchant. The merchant also has video footage of all of the items prior to packing and moving out as Mr. Reid wanted everything put back the way it was: as the merchant handled the packing, loading, transporting, storage, unloading, and unboxing all of his items. This shows proof of Mr. Reid owning the damaged and stolen items. They have offered to cover the "missing/damaged items" for 60 cents a pound and told us we would most likely receive $300 from their insurance of the over $5000 worth of items stolen and damaged. I would strongly suggest not using Unique Moving and Storage. Tim Sherman has been our contact and has also relayed messages from the owner Rodney Watson. We have communicated that an insurance claim that is based on weight is not acceptable that would only cover a partial amount of the items that were stolen and damaged is not acceptable. read more

We had moved from Ventura to Northern California. We had two concerns; 1) The house we were moving into has a creme colored carpet that we did not want damaged and 2) That Rodney unpack and set up our TV's at the new home. Unique promised us both that the carpet would not be damaged and that they would unpack our TV's and put them on our furniture. A couple of days before our move; after hearing we were having difficulties finding wardrobes - Rodney showed up at our house with wardrobes and a lot of other Box Brothers boxes. We informed Rodney that we needed the wardrobes only - but could get all the boxes we needed at Lowe's for a reasonable price. Rodney told us not to worry as he had a price deal with Box Brothers and the boxes would be priced very close to Lowe's prices. We moved. After unloading we were presented and additional bill for $736 for supplies. We asked for and were promised an itemized bill and Unique and crew made it out the door without unpacking and setting up our TV's. It took three months of unanswered emails to finally get the bill for the $736 and to our shock there were charges for such items as $3.50 each for a small box that you can buy at Lowe's for $.67! ( note we did not ask for any boxes other than wardrobes- but were promised as above the boxes would be ".would be priced very close to Lowe's prices") We also reported the failure of Unique to unpack and set up our TV's and the fact that Unique permanently stain damaged our carpeted stairs with dragging hand trucks up the stairs. The irony of this is that as part of the $736 - they charged us $60 for carpet protection film and then proceeded to damage our carpet; which they promised they would not. I took the list of supplies to a Box Brothers and got a bid of $336 without a "deal" Rodney had. Unique, Rodney, and his employee Virginia Cazares have completely ignored the failure to perform the services of unpacking an setting up our TV's, Unique causing permanent stains on our creme colored carpet that Rodney promised would never occur, the representation of Rodney on the prices of the boxes ,and lastly do not dispute theses items were promised. Further, Unique has made NO effort at providing a refund for not unpacking the TV's or mitigating the carpet damages they inflicted on us. BUY BEWARE read more

The crew that came to move us today was amazing. Johnnie,Ricardo,Reggie and Jose all I can tell you is that moving is extremely stressful and these guys were polite,friendly ,sincere and extremely conscientious about the care of our furniture. My wife and I decided we are getting too old to be packing and hauling furniture. So I started the process of finding the right company. From the first phone call To Unique I was immediately impressed with how efficient and helpful and friendly Makayla was. Her ability to communicate and understand what our needs were was amazing. We chose Unique based on her ability to pinpoint our moving criteria. Unique was our first phone call and I was so impressed we just went with them. The follow up and attention to detail us what really helped lower our stress levels. They were fantastic! Arrived as scheduled with 4 workers and 2 trucks. Most things were already boxed and labeled. They carefully packed our 8 lamps with glass shades as well as our 2 flat screen TV's. They worked straight through efficiently and cheerfully. Things were carefully loaded into the truck. It was like a puzzle at times, but it all fit, even a very heavy, large tool box on wheels. They then drive the 80 miles back to Camarillo and our newly purchased home. Everything was carefully unloaded and placed where indicated on the label or where I told them. Furniture was set in place. Things were left neat and organized. Nothing was damaged or lost. They made it easier to deal with very stressful experience with their professionalism and positive attitude. I can't thank them enough. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. read more

I am HIGHLY impressed with this company. Starting with the friendly lady's in the office to actually meeting the owner at my home the day of my phone call to do a personal estimate! I have never gotten such prompt service with any company and the fact that the owner is hands on made it so much easier for me to cancel my two other estimates I had lined up and book with them. The men showed up right on time with a cheerful and positive attitude. The price is so reasonable compared to some other local movers I called. These guys were AMAZING! My 3 previous moves were a train wreck and left me in tears so I was super hesitant. James, the supervisor, showed up in addition to the team of 3 guys (Johnny, Frankie, and I forget the third guy's name...sorry). They not only handled my belongings with extreme care but had my entire apartment loaded in under 30 minutes. At my storage unit they loaded everything so that it lined the outside and back walls allowing me to see everything and leaving the middle open for easy access. I was absolutely blown away! We requested that they visit our home to give us a quote that included both packing and moving. They budgeted for 3 people to pack us on day one, and 7 people to actually move us. The distance between homes was a 15 minute drive. Starla was very organized but Richard left early due to an illness. On moving day, 2 of the men seemed to be very lazy and one of them was downright awful. To top off the poor service the actual bill Was $ FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS OVER THE ORIGINAL QUOTE... I was referred to Unique Moving by my realtor, Fred Evans. He said that he had used this company for years and they were top notch. My two movers, Ricky and Johnny were certainly professionals. I was worried that all my stuff wasn't going to fit in the POD but they said that it would and they were right. Every square inch of the container was packed, it was just amazing. Quick easy and flexible. We had a flood and a bad company we were renting from. We had to move the house in 5 days and get it packed and stored. They not only were able to accommodate our odd situation, but worked with me throughout the process. They were honest with us throughout the whole thing and the packers were great! I have never used a moving company before, and a friend recommended Unique Moving. They gave me a very reasonable quote right away. Kimberly always responded to my email questions promptly. Their crew of three guys showed up on time and worked efficiently to move my mom's furniture into her new home. They were all courteous and professional. Punctual. Reliable. Extra careful. Friendly. I will definitely call these guys next time I move, which I hope won't be anytime too soon. I have ikea furniture, going on their 4th move, and the particle board bases were damaged by previous movers but this company was so careful and conscientious, not one new piece fell off.
