YES minutes. I didn't make it past the washing before storming out of the salon with my hair dripping wet. It wasn't until I got home and took a shower that I realized she shampooed my hair with BLEACH because my eyes were on FIRE. I had never seen ADELA before, but she reassured me that she could work with my hair type, which WAS thick and curly. Little did I know, this woman would take vengeance upon my scalp. As she scrubbed my hair with pounds of shampoo (my hair was clean mind you) she dug her nasty fingernails into my scalp even after I made it very clear that she was hurting me. My once luscious, black, bouncy curls are now thin, frayed, and dry. My ends are red and my overall head is a light brown with blonde wire streaks. NOT TO MENTION THE CHEMICAL BURNS induced by BLEACH being rigorously scrubbed against my scalp and HAIRLINE. Who knows if my hair will grow back since she killed it at the roots, but one thing is for sure--GOD was on my side when I stood up and left with wet sopping hair. Never even got the blowout, but I'm sure ADELA would have loved to finish the job with hair pulling and hot ironing tools. One piece of advice, NEVER trust a stranger with your hair and ALWAYS follow your instincts when you feel something isn't right. Getting your hair done should never be painful.

It was this warm blonde color and was a very rooted look. I never really loved it but my old hairdresser insisted it was perfect for me due to my age and complexion. Unlike the previous salon, Larissa took my image of what I wanted during my consultation and made it into a reality, and assessed whether it'd suit my skin tone and everything. She even added a shadow root (her image) to make it look more seamless as it grows. Such a difference that even my mother and father in law liked it and could tell a noticeable change in my hair (words like softer, healthier, more blended.) And they used to HATE my blonde hair. :-O The first time I came in, she fixed my "heavy" layers and I haven't had a bad hair day since. Def my forever hair salon and hairdresser now. The pain from the procedure is minimal(I did my neck) and the aftercare steps are very clear. The place is of course licensed and won awards before which you can see for yourself when you go in. During one of my sessions, I was severely burned in a specific area, which was very painful. The injury made me lose trust in the amount of safety I had during treatments. I am unsure still why it occurred because I was told that the puss open wound, was due to a hair that was ingrown and became infected... which I quickly learned was not what was going on. In addition, I felt uncomfortable with the staffing of technicians situation. While many other females worked there, there was only one laser technician available, and he was male. He performs Brazilian laser hair removal on female clients, but when I checked the website after a few treatments and curiosity, did not offer the same service to male clients, which in hindsight sight felt unprofessional and inappropriate to me being that if a female wants a Brazilian, she has no choice but to have a male technician. An hour before my appointments, I applied numbing cream on my bikini line and my entire Brazilian area with plastic wrap over the areas. At the beginning of my appointment, he wiped my numbing cream off from my Brazilian area very invasively without even asking if I was okay with that or giving me the option if I could wipe it myself before the lasering. The reason could be so he removes all of the product off completely before lasering, but with ONLY a male tech available and as a female patient who is basically blindfolded being touched in that vulnerable way, I should have 100% been given more options for my comfort. I was asked to remove my bra while wearing a medical gown that opens in the front. The laser treatment was only for my underarms, and the area was fully accessible through the sides/sleeves of the gown. There was no medical reason for me to remove my bra. As a result, my chest was exposed, which made me feel very uncomfortable and vulnerable. This situation felt completely unnecessary, and it could have been easily avoided. Between the physical injury and the discomfort surrounding the treatment environment, I chose not to return again. I would strongly encourage others considering this spa to think about your comfortability levels when getting vulnerable areas lasered by a male technician, to ask detailed questions about safety protocols, and how client comfort is prioritized before making an appointment.

Early last year, I finally decided to make an appointment for a free consultation here at Laser Spa & Center. The esthetician, Tatiana, recommended for me 3 treatments of IPL (Intense Pulse Light) and 3 treatments of Microneedling. Each treatment one month apart, a total of 6 months to complete. The esthetician wanted me to start on my IPL first. The most interesting thing about this treatment, your spots will get super dark before it starts to fade. It actually looks way worse then when you first started. I mean, it looks like someone took a black Sharpie pen and drew dots all over your face. She told me not freak out but I did when I saw how dark it looked in the next few days. And lo and behold, it then starts to fade. By the third treatment, she cranked up that dial and went to town on my face. Spots that weren't there showed up. By the end of my IPL treatments, pretty much all my spots had faded except for the ones right under my eyes. The tissue is too thin there and she is not allow to work around that area. Benefits of IPL includes: - Brighter, Firmer, Tighter Skin - Brighter, more even tone from dark/sun damage - Improved Texture - Reduced Redness - Reduced Pore Size Microneedling - Collagen Induction Therapy. A microneedling pen (dermapen), vertically pierces the skin with hundreds of micro holes to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin. You lose most of your collagen in your 30s. She first numbs my face for half an hour. As she starts going over my skin with the dermapen, I start to bleed, this allows for new collagen to come out. The needles ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 millimeters will be used on different parts of your face. Some areas of your face will hurt more, such as the nose where the tissue is thin. - Benefits of microneedling includes: - Skin tightening and lifting - Improves acne scars - Improves wrinkles and fine lines - Minimizes pore size Results may vary and recovery time is different for everyone. For me, I was told that I didn't bleed as much as some other patients. My face felt tight for the first few days. All the redness were gone by the third day. She did great work, but they decided to get rid of her anyway AND EWC did not even have the courtesy to sign off on her paper to submit to the state to obtain her license. The requirement for this is 1 month; she was employed almost 7. The state requirement is to work for 1 month and be proficient in "temporary hair removal". The state form does not mention anything about how much she needed to sell or pre-book. Shame on EWC. They take advantage of their employees. She never called out; she covered other peoples shifts; even sometimes did not take breaks in which she almost passed out one day. I am filing a complaint with the State......stay tuned. Oh and did I mention that there was no accruals for sick time on her pay stubs. I thought sick time was for full time and part time employees.....

I try not to let anyone other than Jannica touch me. She does an amazing job with my waxes. I find that some waxers have trouble waxing coarser hair textures, but Jannica is amazing and really knows what she's doing. She's also sociable so the time just flies by with her.
