I attended a pastor's anniversary banquet…read more The place is clean. It seems that they can hold two events ... one upstairs and one downstairs. We had the room upstairs. Each area has its own set of bathrooms. Valet Parking The venue is in a residential neighborhood and they do not have a designated parking lot. I arrived way too early for my event, it was pouring down raining and the event before mine was letting out. The young men were overwhelmed with trying to get the cars for the departing guests. They didn't have any real organization to how they parked cars. I heard one say to another something like, check on 75th street. I watched them hit the button on many cars to try and determine where it might be. When I asked about parking I was told that they wouldn't be able to assist me anytime soon then I was asked to be patient and wait while they disbursed the leaving guests. I waited, not realizing that I was holding up a FedEx truck which ultimately held up traffic. Fortunately, my wait paid off and a valet was able to park me across the street. Train/Bus I'm sure there's a bus close, but I don't know which one. As I was leaving, when I approached the light, I noted the R Train Station. Ginger Ale/Sprite Venues are quick to give you cola and water and I always ask for Ginger Ale. Ginger Ale isn't available but they offer Sprite, upon request. Staff They're wait staff was full of young people and they were pleasant and did their best to make sure the guests were taken care of. The real question, would I go back? It's not someplace that I would make an effort to return to. If I had to park my car and walk the long block back to the venue or park on another block, I wouldn't be able to do it. Watching the young men look for cars to return to departing guest didn't bring me comfort. If the venue is convenient for you, go for it. However, when choosing this place, consider your guests ....

She decided to come on a Saturday night as they have a live DJ. The restaurant has valet parking, but my husband and I opted to park in a local parking garage and walk over. It was about two blocks. The place is absolutely stunning! It is located right across from the city where you can enjoy beautiful views of the skyline and water. The restaurant has several gorgeous chandeliers and a very upscale vibe. The dining area seemed to be split in two and we sat in what seemed to be the main dining area, with the bar. But there was another extended area beyond. I was completing dry January so opted to have a mocktail. I had a guava margarita mocktail and let me tell you... This was the best mocktail I've ever had! A lot of times when I order one it just literally tastes like soda. I'm not sure exactly what they put into this one, but there was a smoky finish that made it taste like there was mezcal. Even my husband was surprised at how delicious it was and how much it resembled an alcoholic drink. I was elated to actually have a delicious tasting non-alcoholic drink. (For once) To eat, my husband and I shared the antojitos sampler. This made more sense for us than getting the individual appetizers we got - as that way would have been more expensive and we wanted to be able to try multiple things. The sampler came with ham & cheese croquetas (which were my husband's fave) mixed empanadas, maduros rellenos, queso Fritos y chicharrones. The fried cheese, maduros & chicharrones were my fave even though it was all amazing. For dessert, we had flan and sadly that was a miss for me. My grandmother's Puerto Rican flan will always top any that I try, so idk why I try lol Their spin is to add pineapple and I didn't like it. All in all, it was a wonderful birthday celebration and the birthday girl enjoyed the food & the vibe. Thanks for having us Son Cubano! I will be back to try your brunch!

The food was mediocre, and the noise level was so high it made the whole experience less enjoyable. Maybe that's why our waiter kept mixing up drink orders. The woman who answered the phone also lacked basic courtesy. When I called to ask if they could accommodate a party of seven, she said "yes" and immediately hung up. No "thank you," no "see you soon," no request for a name. Just... click. We later noticed on our bill that it was "Havana Thursdays" with a pre-fixe dinner option, something no one bothered to mention. Why keep that a secret? And by 10:30 the place was a ghost town--no last call, no notice, nothing. Overall, communication was poor and everything else was just mediocre. Do better.

We were here as guests for an Indian wedding. While the venue itself was absolutely beautiful,…read morethere were just a few little details that created an experience that's not worthy of 5 full stars. First, the "ladies lounge" (AKA the restroom) only appeared to be located on the first floor. The event we were attending was on the second floor, so this was just wildly inconvenient to constantly have to go downstairs. Plus, it was usually a bit of a mess in there. Paper towels strung all over the place. A random mop hanging out in front of the stalls. I get that it was a Friday night and that there was a second event taking place at the same time, but they had a LOT of staff that seemed to prefer standing around instead of working to keep the restroom tidy... Also, there was a lot of confusion as to where to put our empty plates. The buffet was located in the room across the hall from where the event we were attending was being held. Some people took their plates back across the hall to enjoy their meal at a table, while some of us just stood around in the room with the food and chose to enjoy our meals away from the loud dance floor. When we were finished eating, we had no idea what to do with our empty plates. We asked a staff member as they were walking by and he didn't seem to know what to do with them, either, which was perplexing. He grabbed one of his coworkers who then took our plates from us. Overall, this was a pretty good experience from a guest's perspective! The venue is VERY large and accommodates for very big guest lists, which is a huge advantage. However, I do think the staff could use some better training to help lessen overall confusion and to help keep the place in a cleaner condition while the event space is being used.

They left the plates on the table too long after people tried to consume the cold food. I wanted to take notes, but the plates were in the way. Many of our 55 guests remarked on the venue, and how stylish it was. Our guests continued to use The Roof when they needed a break from the band. The food was also excellent. Many of our guests remarked on its quality, including some who had their own catering businesses. We found Bridget Ann and Kaelan very easy to work with, and there were no last minute surprises. The staff was friendly and competent. All of our needs were anticipated, the costs were as advertised, and the evening went off without a hitch. They took care of us as if we were family!!! Chad and Sophia were thoughtful, responsive and authentic in ensuring that our vision of creating a memorable experience in the celebration of our mother's 90th birthday was not just met but that it would exceed expectations, and, indeed, the afternoon celebration did just that! The responses from our guests have been overwhelmed with positivity, with raves about the beauty of the venue from the moment they entered the property, starting with the parking lot filled with the colorful, lush bushes and flowers and the bridge to the beauty of the space within welcomed by the pianist while further in a pond of giant colorful goldfish. The conversation has not stopped about the kindness of the staff or how wonderful the food tasted with its variety of choices. Let's also not forget the magnificent cake created by their on-site baker who also brought our request to life with the divine red-velvet cake with butter-cream frosting complimented with an additional, lavish buffet-style selection of desserts with an ice-cream cart thrown in for good measure!!! Lee, our Maître D, executed in excellence as she helped us to navigate the ebbs and flows of the afternoon program including when things did not go as we had scripted. Her expertise assisted in keeping us on task, so it felt seamless!! Special thanks also to our mom's attendant, Melissa. Thank you for the gentle care you provided to our mom. The wife and I walked into Villa Russo to meet with KIM in March of 2025. The wife and I had a vision for the theme of the party. Well let me tell you, Kim had samples AND PICTURES of those samples at ACTUAL events. These things made the decision making so much easier because you did not have to visualize anything. It was already there in pictures. To say that Kim led us by the hand and showed us the way is truly an understatement. We believe she went above and beyond what was necessary. We were a little nervous planning a big event like this. Having Kim alongside us every step of the way was such a relief. Whenever my wife had a question about the event, Kim had an answer. THIS WOMAN KNOWS HER BUSINESS!!! When we arrived for our event, we had Justin who was running the room and Riswan who was assisting him. At bartender, we had the sweetest young lady by the name of Minerva. Minerva knew everything as far as what attendees wanted to drink. She was very quick and sweet. Justin is a superstar. He communicated with me about everything and with the help of our DJay Roger, helped move the party along smoothly. Then you have Riswan. There was nothing he would not do for my family and friends. Upon arriving at Villa Russo, guests were welcomed by an antipasto platter. Super delicious and super gone quickly. Food is the perfect ice breaker. For our salad we chose the Caesar salad. The pasta course was rigatoni a la vodka. A BIG HIT with the guests. For entrees, our guests chose from Shell steak, salmon, chicken francese or eggplant rolatini. Everybody raved about the food and especially the service. If any of our guests needed anything, Justin and Riswan were super quick to respond. The truth is there is not enough space for words to really say how grateful we are to everyone at Villa Russo. From Kim literally taking us by the hand and making our vision a reality. to Justin, Riswan, Minerva and Roger, our Djay, Villa Russo AGAIN, DELIVERED a most memorable night for us all. EVERYONE felt welcomed and had a superb time. The food was fabulous. The ambience was perfect. The night, the most memorable we've had. Thank you so much to everyone at Villa Russo for making our night one to remember. We are truly grateful.
