    6 or courses of food!
    Jenn S.

Surrounded by some of the most glamorously dressed Bukharian Jewish ladies in all of the tri state areas combined, the food of course had to be as equally fabulous and so it was! Was not here for their usual a la carte menu but still I think everything usually on their menu came out! And this preggo chick was very happy to oblige to sit and eat everything. Appetizer course alone was 2 hours long. Everything from smoked fishes to a crazy variety of salads, to sushi, to pickles, olives and pickled veggies, to meat pelmenis, skewers of grilled meats, Prime rib, to endless desserts....and I mean endless.... Everything was deliciously prepared, beautifully presented and to top it off, the service was fantastic. Only pet peeve was the parking situation. Omg please get a valet service in place! Getting out of their parking lot took over an hour!

Let's get it straight. This is not a walk-in type of restaurant. However, it is good for hosting events. I was invited to the birthday celebration of about 80 people by one of my friends and I must say that the service was great. The food was tasty and it kept coming. The band was amazing and overall we had fun. There is a dance floor to shake off the dinner as well. The only thing is that the restaurant is too far from the city.

We got the ginger milk pudding. Do think it's a bit pricey ($10) since it's an easy dessert to make but I guess it's all the theatrics. They pour the dessert in front of you and put a sand glass on top. Once sand glass is done, so is the dessert and you can even rest a spoon on top. The dessert is very smooth, barely a solid, and its ginger taste is very strong- which I like. Strong ginger but pairs well with the milk and good amount of sugar. It is a bit spicy but I like it this way. They do have a lot of other desserts as well as savory items on the menu. Intrigued by their savory menu and will definitely come back to try them next time.

Flavor profiles were hitting in all directions I didn't know which one to pick as my favorite! Durian mango coconut pudding - Durian wasn't overpowering at all and the mango shined in this dessert. The mango was nice and sweet, yet tart, soft and not at all unripe. The durian bits were creamy and custard-y, while the coconut pudding served as the perfect base for the dessert. Light and smooth Taro with mochi dessert- This was a taro sweet soup and had the consistency as black sesame soup. The taro was potent and the aroma was very prominent. The mochi was nice and soft, yet chewy. I was not expecting to like this one as much as I did. Ginger pudding - Utterly delicious. The ginger flavor and taste was insanely strong and the pudding was jiggly soft. Not too sweet and almost tasted spicy in a sense from the ginger. Super solid pudding. I'd come back just to get this again honestly.

This classic and favorite dessert spot still has its magic. When we arrived, there was a line on both sides- to sit down and the to go order. Since today is our first visit here but not our friends, we patiently waited for our turn to get a table. Corner table is not bad. We picked one of their best selling items- banana split, 2 scoops of ice cream. Comes with free whipped cream , choice of syrup, rainbow sprinkles a cherry. Extra charge for any added item like any toppings. Price is reasonable for the serving size, it can be shared. The server is ready to give extra cutlery. A glass of water should be asked, not automatically given. There is nothing extraordinary for the taste of the ice cream except the fact that all flavors are home made. The 1930's decors, classic kitchen gadgets, existing old style but refurbished furniture's , is selling popular candies in early 30's and original atm machines version still working are things that make this place extraordinary , an additional things to look forward to and keeping customers coming back. A monopoly Queen's edition board game puts a smile on my face when I find out that they are selling it for a good fee and includes a $20 gift card with it. Right away purchased it. Definitely coming back to try their other popular and hot items. By the way when we are about to leave, there was a long line waiting for seats.

As the city's oldest continuous ice cream parlor, it has been bringing cloud nine to dessert lovers for nearly one hundred years. Unlike modern shops using pre-made bases, this joint makes all of its small batch ice cream, syrups, and incredibly thick whipped cream right on the establishment. Costumers acclaim the original early 1900s ambiance, featuring vintage marble countertops, heavy wood accents, a historic old refrigerator, and antique swivel stools. They are famous for their spectacular, towering sundaes loaded with all your favorite toppings. Digital payments are not an option so first-timers might be surprised. For around $12, guests enjoy a generous two-scoop sundae, though some find it a bit pricey. Cozy limited space, big demand! Weekend wait times may vary.

It took us a while to decide on what to buy partly because we were buying also for our friends. Naturally, we were asked relatedly by at least the different staff if we needed help or if we were ready to order. Each time, they seemed genuinely want to help, and made us feel welcome with their smiles and gentle demeanor. For myself, the pistachio muffin was totally satisfying and I confirm they did not slump on the nuts. The crunchy eclair was a BIG hit with our friends, and the rest is kind of a blur but I know we enjoyed everything we tried. We'd go back without hesitation. I hope they keep up the great work.

While the persimmon cake SEEMED to be made in house, it was very clear that everything off their food menu required minimal preparation (ie. for the dumplings, it was just har cow). I also thought their cocktails were okay, and out of the three we got, none stood out to me. I did enjoy their tea, however. But, it was also fairly expensive for what it was (~$50). It was a bit of a sweet & savory mix, but not strong in either sweet or salty flavors. There was also this persimmon snack that was filled with nuts and other things. It was slightly sweet, very unique, and both paired well as a tea time snack. They're also open until 11:30pm!
