I wanted to upgrade my 2014 Crosstrek XV sound system and spoke to a service manager at Hohl Subaru in Carson City. He recommended Unique Sounds. I went there and spoke with Mitch, one of the co-owners, and explained what I wanted to do. Mitch showed me a nice Alpine system that would improve my audio system. He did not "upsell" me, instead recommended a very good set of Alpine S series speakers, amplifier and a new deck. I "upsold" myself by getting Alpine R series speakers, new dash speakers, an Alpine deck, a subwoofer which was installed under my driver's seat and a rearview camera. The prices were very reasonable and Alex did a great job of installing all the new equipment. The entire system sounded great and really upgraded my Crosstrek's audio system. This was all done in December 2019. The system sounds wonderful, I've had no problems (Other than having Mitch update the time on the deck as I always forget how to change it when the time changes from Standard time to Daylight time and back. These guys are awesome. I have had many favorable experiences working with this business. The first time, i had a car that needed an old car alarm taken out. They did a fantastic job. I then bought a new car and they installed the window tinting for me. They worked fast and the quality of tint is very pleasing for my new car. It is not too dark or too light..just right. They do not overcharge and they completely guarantee their work or all your money back. Just today i went in to say hi and asked if they could fix my rear view mirror which i had accidentally knocked off. They spent over a half an hour to fix it and did not charge me a dime. Unique Sounds is the place to go, I have been going to them since 98 they will take care of you in every way possible. There is very few people that i trust with my vehicles and the equipment on them and this is one of them from mounting and ordering my tires for me, stripping and redoing my tint, to install of stereo equipment and alarms this is the place to go. I have been going to go to unique sounds back when they had there small shop and even know that they have there large shop they are the same quality as when they had the small shop you don't see that much with business's most the time once they get to be a big shop you loose the costumer service and great deals not with unique sounds they have only gotten better!!!! I went in to unique sounds a few months ago to see about upgrading my stereo system in my 02' PT cruiser. After discussing my desire with Mitch that I wanted to up the power in the deck and add some bass. I was told about the alpine deck with all the bells and whistles bluetooth etc. and a alpine subwoofer with amp all in one from the factory. I wanted to take it step by step; the deck first and then the subwoofer. I ended up keeping all the 6 factory speakers in the end and my sound system sounds like studio quality with the spotify app on my iPhone. You see a lot of people these days doing acts of kindness and this place happen to do it for me! They had put in a stereo about a year ago and did an amazing job. Well a few days ago my stereo decided to stop working. No sound in the speakers nothing. I was panicking because I have a child who is autistic who depends on music when we are driving in the car. I told Mitch what was going on and he said he'd fix it for me! Not only did he fix it for me but he did my son a good service "deed". He didn't charge us a penny for fixing the stereo. Those two brothers and their staff are excellent. I have had 5 of my cars done there, and had no problems. I moved to California in July of 2012 west of sacramento, and bought a brand new car in november. Despite the amount of competition down here, i knew it was worth a 3 hour drive to have them do my next car. Another great job on my car, i am very happy. The large and beautiful building they have was intimidating to me at first cause i thought it would cost an arm and a leg to get anything done, but i was wrong. I recently had a new navi / satellite radio system installed in my wife's 2013 Honda CVR. Mitch found the perfect system and the installation was flawless. I had a couple of problems with the steering wheel controls of the unit that were the result of a manufacturer's defect. Mitch and his brother worked with the supplier to get the problem resolved. Went in for a quote on my speakers. The young man working quoted me. I then went in to get my speakers installed and Mitch quoted something different. I told him what the young man quoted me. He said no this is what you have to pay. I said fine. Whatever! They asked me if I wanted to hear how the speakers sound. Being that I had to be at work soon I said no they should be fine. Went home and noticed there were black spots all over my seats. Dirt, dust and some kind of oily black spots. They had changed my speakers and were not careful about getting my seats dirty let alone clean! Never going back here again!! read more

On each occasion I was very impressed by their expertise, their prompt service and their suggestions to better serve me. One of the brothers sat in the vehicle with me and walked me through the procedure with Sirius Radio to change my account and service. I stopped by Unique to see if the Pioneer stereo that came in the truck I bought was broken. I talked to the owner of the shop and he took the time to come out to my truck, not only did it work but he took my Iphone and 30 seconds later I had a working stereo that has Bluetooth wireless capabilities. I was very happy and took my wallet out and he told me no way, it's on me. He just gained a new customer and it sure is nice to see some old school customer service. Very good business. Can't say enough good things about these guys. I'm 4 months into a year-long cross country adventure and a speaker went out in my camper van. We had an after market stereo installed a few years ago at this store. It recently quit working (no sound)...took it in, they fixed it (they said it was simply a speaker had come unplugged) and would not charge me for the work! He even came out to my car and showed me how to reprogram the stereo to be compatible with my phone.
