They are an excellent establishment for the following 5 reasons: +1* Owners - they are courteous and professional. +1* Salon - is beautifully decorated, warm atmosphere and clean. +1* Stylist - offers a variety of different talents from hair care to braiding and cutting natural hair. +1* Appointment - setting a date and time with a preferred stylist is seamless. +1* Bonus - they offer beverage options and healthy snacks. The 5th star is always a bonus for me when writing a review. I feel there is always room to improve and we should always be at our best to offer extraordinary service at every opportunity available. My daughter visits roughly every 3 months for a wash, cut and braid. Our next visit we may mix it up a little. We have been a client for over 4 years. My experience at Harlem Natural Hair Salon was not good, especially for my first time at this…read moresalon. I asked for a wash n go and trim and was told only the back part of my hair (nape) would be cut. My hair is already in layers so that would've meant one section of my hair would be trimmed. I declined and the stylist proceeded to do my wash n go. She did not take time to gently detangle my hair, before during, and after the shampoo. My hair was basically ripped out and I was told my hair couldn't "be defined" because she assumed my hair would be an Afro (as it appears that way when it gets wet). She also said if I keep doing wash n gos I'd never grow my hair, yet my hair was to my chin (stretched) last May and now is past my bra strap, and in this period I styled my hair in wash n gos. However, her assumption was absolutely wrong, I've done wash n gos all the time and my hair was always defined, shiny and bouncy. She took no time to effectively section my hair to style it, so my hair ended up being stiff and dry. Throughout my whole salon experience the stylist remained rude, with a nasty attitude and was not friendly. I would not go back

We did have a bit of a mishap mid party, but all leaders were quick to address and thankfully our guests weren't harmed and the party overall wasn't affected. Will always recommend and hope to attend more events and programs soon!

Since I reserved my haircut, I never had to wait and each time I went, in addition to getting a haircut, the staff washed my hair before and after cutting my hair.
