Great wheelchair van rental company. Transactions have always been super smooth and stress free. Clean and newer vans. The rental agreements are very customer friendly. $150 a day and 200 miles a day. For the service provided this is a great deal. Geneva has always helped me with the rentals. She is a super sweet and understanding lady who works hard to make all the paperwork easy for myself. The vans themselves are top notch. There are buttons that open and close the sliding doors on both sides. Passenger side of the vans have a ramp that slides out. Touch free to the drive/operator. I buckle my mom in with the straps provided. Then we're good to go! This makes traveling with my mom possible. It's so easy to get her up and in the van and just go. Besides bad communication on one end and waiting a little longer than anticipated I will say the finished project was worth it. Geneva who works the desk knew her paperwork and did a good job showing how to operate our new carrier. Kevin is just a busy man trying to take care of all our special requests and really wanted to make sure he knew what he was doing with mine before beginning and wanted to install it right which i truly do appreciate. Would I recommend United Access to anyone? I would, just make sure you stay on top of communication with Kevin because he is busy and may need a reminder or two to get back to you if In a situation like mine. Improperly adjusted mobility ramp while doing their six month required maintenance. First time using this company since I bought the van in 2015. Ramp begin operating poorly and the estimate was $$1800. (Part was $400 over competitors price) had I had United Access repair the van they would not deduct the $300 they charge for the estimate. on top of the charges above, they charged me 3% to use my credit card. I bought a used vehicle from United Access and the process was very smooth and professional. Jonathan was excellent to work with and was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the vehicle developed some mechanical issues a few weeks later. Came to see them for a van for my son. I had an appointment and called before we came to confirm with the sales guy. Once we arrived we were greeted by a seemingly agitated gentlemen who claimed our sales person would be to talk to us shortly. I'd been having electrical problems with a set of hand controls for three years. The original installer which I won't name but rhymes with "flotillity jerks" expected ME to contact the manufacturer and secure replacement parts, even after FJ said they would do it, and didn't. We have been having our conversion van serviced here for a few years. They are trustworthy and have never let me go away unsatisfied. I find their prices reasonable considering that they work in a specialty field. My only recommendation is that they look into providing wifi access for customers who wait for the work to be done (usually 1-1 1/2 hours). read more

This place would charge you a lot more money for the same service when compare to other. For example, Mobilitty Work in Chico charged me $365 for replacing a throttle cable for my EMC Aevit 2.0 and they would charge me $585 for the same service. read more

I bought my 2006 Toyota Sienna Ramp Van from Ability Center in October 2006. We have had a few problems over the years but they have always worked with us to fix the issues as quickly and efficiently as possible. I purchased our customized Honda odyssey with fully automatic lift/ramp in 2008. Since owning our van we have had very few problems fortunately. Once the motor went out on ramp and it was not covered under warranty, Ability worked together with Honda to get it replaced only costing us labor! I have also had recalls for various issues and had a Honda dealership work on van, again ability center worked in coordination with them and we had no out of pocket cost. In my experience staff has always been exceptional with helping their customers, I only wish they were closer to Carmichael! read more

This place was referred to me by Tim of Future Ford in Sacramento. When I purchased my used van, it included a nice Tommy Gate Hydraulic wheelchair lift. After figuring it out, the lift is not for me because of health issues and weight. Jonathan was very helpful and accommodating and we agreed that they will dismantle the lift in exchange that I donate it for someone else that will need this more (special mention to U.S. Disabled Veterans). We have taken our Honda Odyessey in to other mobility stores and after renting vans during the repair session several times the results remainded the same. Ramp worked some of the time. We then took it to Ability and worked with a gentleman named Brian. Wow what a difference. He fixed it in one day and it is working properly since. 5 days before leaving on a 10 day cruise my father asked me to rent a power scooter to increase his mobility. This of course put me in a pinch. After some research I called 5 places that either rent or sold scooters. This establishment was the closest and was able to give me the best price to be able to purchase the scooter. At arrival the young lady (sorry I forgot her name and the card is with my father) was great. She was very attentive. She had excellent knowledge of the scooter and was able to tell me it would comply with airline and cruise requirements. My dauhgter took it for a test drive. I've used the Ability Center a few times for different products. A year ago I purchased a lift for our Travel Trailer which lifts my wife into the trailer. 30 days after the warranty expired, the lift stopped working. I brought the trailer into the shop and Mark went to work on repairing it. Mark had the parts on hand and was able to make a fix in about an hour. After the repairs Mark got on the phone and contacted the manufacturer of the unit to see if they would give me a partial credit on the lift. Instead, Mark with great tact and diplomacy was able to persuade the manufacturer to cover all parts and labor. How could any be better. There was! The Ability Center has a clean and comfortable waiting area in their showroom. I happened to notice a shower chair that fits in the trailer. I had shopped all over looking for a chair that could fit in my RV's shower and I was finally able to find one. The Ability Center is one well equipped place serving the disabled. read more

I took my wheelchair van in because I broke a part that causes the door to open and close automatically. I had the broken part in my pocket and asked to talk to the service tech...He never bothered to talk to me, even though i was in the waiting room, and wasted an hour figuring out what was wrong. They ordered a new part and couldn't get me in for two weeks. Finally I took my van in and after two hours they came out and said they installed the new part and my door would still not shut so it must have an electrical problem...I tried to explain that this did not make sense because I broke the ramp and it worked fine before that..He would not listen to me. I refused to let him do further work, paid $200 for my still broken van, and took it to Destinations Mobility...They figured out the new part was installed incorrectly and charged me under $100 to fix it...THERE WAS NO ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WHATSOEVER...Ability Center wasted hours of my time and $200 to screw up the repair. Then they tried to further increase my bill by looking for a problem that didn't exist. They were either trying to scam me or they are incompetent. Do not go here!!!!! Destination Mobility is much better, and they listen to you, treat you with respect, and wont overcharge you!.....btw I also bought my used van at Ability Center and the leaf springs were so screwed up I broke my muffler the first week I had it...it cost $1000 bucks to have the van raised up and the passenger door was installed incorrectly so that every time it rained the floor got wet...it took 4 years and 3 mechanics to figure that one out...your best bet is Stay Away!!!! read more
