I understand that it is necessary to give a star rating in order to document a complaint. However,…read moreif I could do so, I would give them a negative star rating. Anyway, on Feb 24, 2026, this company sent a technician out, by the name of Robert (?) to diagnose my gas generator. Prior to the actual appointment, or even scheduling the appointment, I was quoted the following: General Fees: - House Call - $49 per visit, even if the visit is to complete the repair, diagnosed at the initial visit. Even if the technician was unable to do a competent job, and new visit would be necessary to remedy or complete the initial service. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, they may work with you on this fee. - Diagnostic Fee - $100 however, this fee can be used toward a tune-up anytime. - Taxes & Credit Card/Debit Card Fee - Service Fee - 5.1% which includes tax, transaction fee(s) and everything. Not sure what else there would be, for there to be a an "everything", but I digress. Equipment Specific Fee(s): - Tune Up (Gas Generator) - $495 (Minus diagnostic fee if previously paid). Upon arriving, the technician, completed the diagnosis, I assume and the cost of everything would be $578.72. Of course, I attempted to break up the payments, part before the repair and he remainder after the repair/service was complete, but whomever Robert spoke with to see if this was acceptable would not approve this. It was all up front of nothing, and simply pay the quoted fee for house call and diagnostics, which would have been $149.00. With very little options as a housebound disabled veteran, I approved the estimate and the technician moved forward. By the way, the technician had already torn down the specific areas of concern, and to this day, they still remain in a torn down state of disrepair. UPDATE: Received a call back from Rob, I assume this is Robert, the technician who came here, tore down my generator, then only called me back to advise me that they were refunding the amount paid, minus the diagnostic fee ($100) and the house call fee ($49). So, I originally paid $578.72, they refunded or provided a "goodwill" refund of $100 on April 8, 2026, and after approximately 2 months, 19 days (Feb 24, 2026), and several calls requesting a call-back from a decision-making company employee. They finally submit a partial refund of my full payment on May 15, 2026. First of all, the house call ($49), I can accept that. However, they are charging me for a diagnostic with no proof that a diagnostic was actually done. Not to mention, the diagnostic fee can only be applied on a later tune-up, which of course, I will NEVER be able to utilize as the initial work was NEVER COMPLETED! I say this, because it is my understanding that, a diagnostic is supposed to diagnose the problem, so the customer can decide whether or not they want to move forward with repairs. Once that agreement is in place, rather verbal (Feb 24, 2026) of by contract/invoice/receipt (Feb 25, 2026), and payment (Feb 24, 2026), there is both an expectation of a reasonable time to complete repairs, effective communication and if all else fails, a full refund as services were not completed as agreed. Since the customer agreed to the repairs, as did the business, and the repairs were not done, it stands to reason that the diagnostic fee should also be refunded. Since there is no proof that the diagnosis was done, or done properly, since no repair was done, the diagnostic fee needs to be returned as well. The partial refund was submitted on May 15, 2026. As of May 25, 2026, the refund has not processed. UPDATE: Partial Refund processed on May 26, 2026. Paid: $578.72 - $100 (goodwill refund) - $317.80 = $160.92 - $49.00 - $100.00 = $11.92 (Not including the diagnostic fee, this is still owed!). I guess, since the diagnostic fee and the house call which were kept, amounted to $149, but they kept, $160.92, I can only guess, they decided to keep an additional $11.92 to cover their level of incompetence. I can only assume that these two characteristics can be quite expensive. CAVEAT: Per their website, they are an accredited business by the BBB. Based on the BBB, this business is not accredited.

Plus, if you don't have commercial machinery they don't need your business, you're at the bottom of the totem pole. They took over a month with my one year old riding lawnmower. Instead, there was a charge even though it was going to be two to three weeks before my mower could even be looked at. One of their employees told me it was just like at a hotel for incidentals. That's not how they do it at hotels, they put a hold, and he insisted that I was wrong about that too. They gave me excuse after excuse before even looking at the mower as to why the repair wouldn't be covered under warranty, including trying to claim that the problem was old gas (the gas had been in the mower for about 6 weeks with a stabilizer). Then they said it was probably the carburetor which also wouldn't be covered. Then they told me after they had charged the $200 that if they even looked at the mower there would be a $68 charge whether they did the work or not. They finally told me to just come get the mower. Complete scam.

He engaged quickly, set up a time to come out to my house, spent time diagnosing the mower, and showed me the part that was broken. He didn't have the replacement on the truck and I'd told him I was comfortable replacing it myself, so we agreed for him to come back out and adjust it after I replaced the rocker arm. On the second trip, Ken worked on the mower for a while to keep it from running too fast and pointed out a couple things I'd done wrong when I rebuilt the engine. Turns out I was going to need to rebuild the motor again to fix the internal part that wasn't working right. I tried to pay him for the 2 trips and he said he couldn't accept payment since he didn't get it to a full running condition. I have now rebuilt it, gotten it running again, and reached out to Ken to adjust it. He gave me detailed instructions over e-mail to make the adjustments myself since he knows I'm handy, and has declined my 3rd attempt to pay him for his services...again since he says he didn't leave the mower fully functional. You don't see this level of integrity, honesty, and consideration out of many people these days. If Ken won't let me pay him, the most I can do is give him a 5* rating anywhere I can. Great guy, and I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone needing small engine repair.
