The United Airlines at St Louis Lambert International is good. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the ticketing process was seamless. My only issue was when I arrived at the airport I was the last passenger to deplane the aircraft, but I still waited approximately 20 - 25 minutes at baggage claim to receive my bag. This process needs to be streamlined, overall this was a good trip and I will United Airlines to/from St Louis again.

Flew from St. Louis to SFO and had an almost 2 hour delay because apparently there were too many airplanes coming into SFO. Can't really blame United for that fact but it was a little bit annoying sitting in the lounge chairs for 2 hours more. United did handle it well because they provided mini refreshments such as popcorn and bottled water to keep us satisfied. On flight the flight attendants were by far one of the nicest flight attendants on Western airlines. I actually had a pretty good conversation with one of them which is definitely a first. The snacks are subpar, I don't know how you can mess up pretzels but it happened. My one complaint was that of the Wifi on board. United provides free entertainment if you use their app and Wifi so I decided to take full advantage of it by watching Instant Family (highly recommend). Unfortunately the Wifi was extremely spotty and it took me almost 3 hours to watch a 2 hour movie because I had to wait for it to load. If you are going to provide an amenity, might as well provide it completely.

I wasn't a happy camper flying United Airlines. I am a loyal Delta flyer but this time, another party arranged this flight to St. Louis, MO. There is no social distancing on these flights. At least, boarding and deplaning were very organized and the majority of flyers followed the directions of leaving by row numbers. Flight attendants were pleasant and helpful but this definitely was a no frills flight. I hope not to use this airline, if given a choice.

The rude attendant... way to go United's HR team... maybe screen for those that are more tolerant of others. Patrick D. , MBA-RN/BSN

Well I generally keep negative topics to myself, but in this case it seems like I should warn those passengers flying with babies that the United Airlines gate attendants are rude, seem as though they hate interracial families. It was announced that there was a pre-board and I walked and the gate attendant if they were boarding kids...? Seemed an honest question with my wife in tow. The attendant snarled at me. "No!" Then a short time later a Caucasian lady came up with a child and she smiles and says not yet ma'am. Wow... I tried to get her name but she discreetly hid her name

The line at the United Ticket Checkin Counter went really fast. I have Premier status with United, so the Premier line only had one person in front of me. The kiosk was not working - which I normally use to check in, but the United agent asked me a couple of questions about me to find me in the system and was really fast at getting me processed and my bag checked. Great service there! We had a 20 minute delay at the Gate - due to some issues with having the right flight crew ready to go. With all the moving parts that Airines have, there are bound to be some hiccups. They resolved them fairly quickly and we were boarding and on our way!

No issues checking in or at the gates. All the agents were very friendly and I had no issues with my flights in or out.

St. Louis is a pretty easy airport to get around in and the united is not too different. Simple layout, easy to get boarding passes.

The ability to use iMessage and WhatsApp for free once I connected to the in-flight WiFi was a bonus. My primary reason for giving Southwest Airlines only 2 stars is because of this airline's pricing tactics and in my experience, non-existent customer service. I went on Southwest's website and found flights I wanted, only to get an error when I attempted to book and pay. When I immediately tried to re-book just seconds later, the price per ticket for the same itinerary had increased significantly. Southwest customer service was no help when I contacted them, and replied to my messages with seemingly pre-written and "canned" responses that didn't actually address my reason for reaching out.

I've been flying Southwest Airlines for many, many years, so I've definitely seen my share of…read morechanges with the airline. Recently, they made some pretty significant changes to their policies, including moving from the traditional boarding groups to assigned seating. Personally, I actually prefer the assigned seats. I never really cared whether I was sitting in the front, middle, or back of the plane, but I absolutely hated the stress of having to check in exactly 24 hours in advance just to try to claim a decent boarding position. When you're traveling with a child, the biggest concern is always making sure you can sit together. And honestly, I could check in one second after the 24-hour mark and somehow still end up in a later boarding group. I never really understood how that system worked, so I'm definitely a fan of being able to select an actual seat now. One of the biggest perks of Southwest used to be that checked bags flew free, so losing that benefit is definitely a bummer. We usually travel with carry-ons anyway unless we're going on a longer trip, but now it seems like everyone brings a carry-on because of the baggage changes. That means there are still tons of people trying to find overhead bin space, and eventually they have to check bags anyway. It seems a little silly to me. The check-in process, however, is SO much less stressful now, and I definitely prefer it. As with most airlines, your experience can really depend on who is working. I've had some absolutely fantastic flight attendants on Southwest, and I've also had some that weren't so great. That can really make or break a flight. A friendly, helpful flight attendant can make the whole experience more enjoyable. One thing I have noticed this summer is that my return flights seem to be delayed almost every time. I've taken four different trips with Southwest this summer, and my flight home has been delayed anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour or more. I don't know what is going on with the return flights, but it's frustrating when you're already tired, just want to get home, and your arrival time keeps getting pushed farther and farther back. I do enjoy the free beverage service because it's nice to at least have something to wet your beak during the flight. The snacks, however, are another story. I honestly dislike most of the snacks they offer now, with the exception of the occasional Oreo. If there's no Oreo, I usually just pass because I know I'm going to end up throwing the snack away anyway. One of the biggest reasons Southwest was such a great deal for me this summer was having the Companion Pass. My daughter was able to fly free with me wherever we went, and you really can't beat that kind of deal. That made Southwest an especially economical option for us and definitely helped make up for some of the other changes. Overall, Southwest still has its pros and cons, but it remains one of the airlines I look at first when I'm trying to get a good deal. Once my Companion Pass expires, I'll definitely shop around and compare prices with other airlines, but I'm not interested in the ultra-cheap airlines because I've had some pretty poor experiences with them. With Southwest, you pretty much know what you're going to get. It may not be perfect, but for the price and the overall experience, it's still an airline I'm comfortable flying.

When you are flying on Alaska, typically they will force passengers to check their bags if the flight is close to full. Given I bought a cheap seat, it was inevitable that I had to gate check it. Expect the same experience if you buy a Basic Economy ticket. After gate checking my bag, my seat was changed twice including once when I was boarding. On the plus side, I got moved from a seat in the back to Premium. Due to upgrade, I was able to get some free wine. While the flight overall was great, my checked bag took a half hour to arrive which was above their Bag Guarantee timeframe. But most notably, I was overcharged for a meal that I ordered. It was extremely difficult to try to fix the problem. You have to call or email Customer Care as the text support reps can't help with this. It did not seem worth it to call as the waiting times were not worth the difference so I sent an email. The response time was horrible as I did not get a response until nearly a month later. They could not fix the extra charge, but did give me a discount code which seems reasonable. Having flown Alaska for a long time, I feel that they are not as customer friendly as before, which was what they built their reputation on. There is a lot to improve on in regard to customer care if they want to become a leading global carrier.
