I love this location for the products, the service, and how close it is to me. I get pony tails here and have gotten extensions and each time, someone helps me with actual care and attention to what I'm doing. Since I'm indecisive sometimes with my hair, I'm always in need of a support or opinion and they're ready and willing to help. I also love getting hair scarves here, they have a good selection and they have some great beauty products too. My absolute favorite lipgloss is inexpensive and lots of options. Before she could get behind me, the sales person called her up and told the woman that she was next and rung her right up. Last I checked we have lines for a reason. This lady only seems to sale the hair on the models, at least that's always the treatment I've gotten. When I wanted to exchange my hair purchase for something new, that I had purchased a floor model and didn't really want it. She told me no that the hair smelled like smoke. I had not even left the parking lot yet. I went right back within minutes. At which time I noticed it's very shabby condition. I begged her to please make the exchange, that I had spent all my little money on the wig and it was no good. She refused to be sensible and threw me out of the store. This is the closest location to me but my girlfriends & I will not return. After my first visit I returned to buy hair extensions. I mentioned repeatedly what I needed, color & length. They sold me the shortest length I said I absolutely did not want, I trusted who was helping me and did not double check the length. I felt rushed. All in all I guess I shouldn't have trusted the employee and should have double checked everything which it seems you have to do everywhere these days. These extensions are $100, I work very hard for my money. I called after the realization that they were incorrect and was basically told that "I said this and that, there was nothing that could be done" it was my fault, I was gonna take the L but...... I asked if they had the actual length I needed... They didn't. I think they sold me the wrong length on purpose for the sale. I was so so sad and mentioned it... I had to ask, didn't you mention that you have other locations? They said "you are really gonna go to that other location? Alright go ahead, bye" and hung up..... When I called the store on Missouri & 7th st the manager was so sweet, apologized for the other stores unprofessionalism and had the correct ones waiting for me at the front desk when I got there. That will be my new location with great customer service. I spent way too much money today unfortunately... but at least I was able to have the pleasant experience at the 7th st location. Been getting tired of the same old quality of razors from the supermarkets, even tried the online companies, I stopped in to see what they had available, and I was greeted with a smile and very helpful staff. Thy gave me a few options, even those barber looking straight razors.. that was a little too crazy for me, I got a safety razor with two different types of blades to try, they even had a stand and a brush to go along with the shave soap. Wish I wouldn't Have gone against my better judgment when choosing to go here to purchase my clip in extensions. I had a feeling I would regret it.. I told the girl working that day what I was looking for and that I planned to color them to match my hair (which is black with a reddish balayage throughout) and she coaxed me into purchasing a particular brand that she said I could do anything to just as a I would my own hair. They happened to be the most expensive ones there, but I just wanted to have them so I could get my hair done. Once I got home and proceeded to do a test strand on the hair, I realized that the hair wouldn't take bleach or color! I called her immediately to let her know and she told me to come back in. When I got back to the store, a different girl who was working recognized me from earlier and told me she would call the other girl up to help me. She called her on the phone and about two minutes later, she walked in. She asked her if she just woke up which confused me. I don't know if she takes naps in her car on her breaks or what... anyway, she proceeded to tell me that there was nothing they could do for me and that I can call the manufacturer if I had an issue. Seriously??! I let her know that I just spent $250 on something that she assured me I could color and now they're useless! She just repeated over and over again that she couldn't help me. She was one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with in a store. I understand that buying hair is normally a final purchase just because it is hair and one someone returns it, they can't resell it. But she either lied to me or is not aware and does not have an understanding of the products she sells on a daily basis. Either way, that's not my issue and I don't feel that her not doing her job right should result in me losing money and a good amount of money. The reason I am not happy with this place and will NEVER BE BACK to this location is due to the fact that they kinda treat you like a criminal before you even enter the store. Now before I get hate emails let just say yes I did see the sign that said NO PURSES ALLOWED, ONLY WALLETS AND KEYS. I was like huh? I was just at their Glendale location which had the same sign posted, yet EVERYONE (and when I say everyone I mean the 5 ladies that were in the store) had their purse on their shoulder and I do see a lady in this store with her purse as well and I did just come from their Glendale location, hmmm... so you can't be serious right? I mean no purse? What? WRONG!!! I go in and although the young lady behind the counter was friendly enough she did say I am sorry but you are not allowed to bring in your purse. You can however leave it with me and place it in a box behind the counter but you are not going to be able to walk around with it. I was like are you kidding me? You want me to leave my purse with some stranger while I walk around your store? She stated that they have had too many thefts so therefore she had been told to take all purses and bags from customers as they entered the store. I was like ok but if that is the case what about the other lady that is in the store with her purse. She was like oh hmm ok and proceeded to ask the lady AFTER THE FACT (I am not going to point out the obvious on this one). Needless to say that customer said I am not leaving my purse with you and walked out and I did the same. I am sorry that your store is having a theft problem but maybe if some of your staff walked around and were not sitting behind the counters, that may help. Don't treat everyone like criminals and make sure to that if you are going to enforce the rule, make sure to enforce this rule with EVERYONE and not just some. Its like going to Walmart and they say " I am sorry but you will have to leave your purse with me while you shop and when you are ready to check out then you can get it back" Hmm no. So Chris and Sue Lee, I know its your business and you can run it any way you want but just make sure to be fair to everyone and not just some and make sure that if you are going to have a rule like NO PURSES OR BAGS ALLOWED to enforce it at both stores. Unlike other pretension places here in the valley, they have affordable wigs that are a high enough quality that you will not be embarrassed when you wear them out. This is not the place to go if you are looking for intensive conditioners or hair products. I can here looking for a fun front lace wig, and they had a great selection. At this point I had already been to: Wig Amor - in Arrowhead Towne Center Indoor Swapmart - I-17 and Camelback (far back left there is a wig place) Classy Sisters Wigs - 35the Ave and Greenway I came to this one in particular because they had a wig in stock in a color I wanted that the Glendale location only had a display of. Ugh is all I can say. Stick to the one on bell rd. During Covid I assume this is why they have people standing outside and passing out hand sanitizer as they allow you in the store. No thank you I have my own. I'm not sure where your hands been to be passing me out sanitizer like I'm a child. I have been going here for years and there customer service has gone to since they changed managed at both locations here and on Bell Rd they can't even follow up on an order or not sell hair when they are not suppose to when it's on hold for someone. Today alone I called to speak to a supervisor at the 35th ave location I had to girls arguing on the phone one trying to prevent the other girl from talking to me by interrupting and picking up the line this went on for like 3 to 5 minutes then got hung up on. Then the so called assistant manager attitude! on Bell could not understand that I was following up on an order that was suppose to moved to that location from the 35th ave location because they messed up and I don't want to deal with the 35th ave location anymore when it's right by me . If I could give this place -5 stars I would, the place stinks when you walk in the follow you around as if your gonna steal something, but I came in a bought extensions, they only had one brand that was close to my color, "fashion source" so I felt the hair, and it was soft of course and I asked the lady if it was 100% human hair and she said yes, I asked if I can straighten, curl, and wash them and she reassured me that I could, so I get home and wear them and they were so itchy I took them out 30 mins after putting them in, the next day I gave them another try, so I put them in and started styling them, as I was curling them I can see the strands breaking,frying and shriveling up, and then saw a random black string in the hair, so today I called to see what could be done about this, the lady that said she was a manager basically talked to me as if I have no clue what I was talking about, human hair dosent just fry on the LOWEST setting of my straightener, it dosent feel like plastic bags when you wash them and I've never seen real human hair have random black strings in them, I already know I won't get an exchange of refund on this faulty product, so here I am writing this horrible review for a company I usually love, this location needs to be shut down, rude and lying employees are the worst. I stopped by this United Beauty Supply on an impulse. I had not been to any United Beauty Supply in many years due to a negative experience in the past. I was looking for a wig stand and located what I needed. While in the store, I noticed the selection of wigs. I am an African American woman with alopecia, I have recently had to transition to wearing wigs full time. I have only ordered wigs on-line due to being self conscience and not wanting to try wigs on in public. One of the saleswomen, Brandi, came over and began to assist me. I was hesitant and she put me at ease and took me to a mirror in the back of the store. She had me select wigs and try on my choices. She selected wigs for me that I would not have chosen for myself. Once I tried them on, I was surprised that they looked good on me. Not only did they look good in the store, but I have received consistent compliments on my "do." I purchased both wigs that she chose for me. The negative experience that I had in the past kept me out of this store and the positive experience I had with Brandi will bring me back. Very unhappy with United Beauty. About a month ago, a friend of mine, who lives in Sedona and wasn't going to be in town for awhile, asked me to look into getting a couple of hair care products for her that she usually gets at United Beauty. I walked in and wasn't in the store long at all when I was asked if she could help. I explained to her what I was looking for and she stated that they were just starting to expand their "salon products" and would be placing an order that day so would see if they could add what my friend needed to that order. She said she would have to call her distributor to be sure those were still available. A couple of weeks ago, I called to check the status and was told that they were able to order the products and they would call me when the order was in for me to pick up. Today, I called, given I had still never received a call, and found out that they had NOT been ordered and the gal I spoke with said to give her 20 minutes as she would call her distributor to find out if they COULD be ordered. WHAT???? A few minutes later, she called back (give her credit for that) and said they could NOT be ordered. Why they couldn't have told me that two weeks ago is beyond me but I was able to find a couple other options online for my friend to order the products from and have advised her that I don't think United Beauty is a good option to use in the future. read more

First, the girl said she knew exactly what my color was and that she would order me one that would be perfect. She seemed confident and that she should have it in within a few days or up to a week. I finally had to call her 3 weeks later. She said it was in. I go there and it doesn't match my hair at all. She said that only one of the three came in. I told her if I knew that only one had come in, I wouldn't have driven so far and would've waited. She then ordered another one and it was way short, nothing like we had talked about.
