Consumer BEWARE Extremely Disappointed - Faulty AC Installation, Water Damage, and No Accountability We hired UBH Heating and Cooling expecting a straightforward AC installation. Instead, we endured over three months of ongoing issues, property damage, and a complete lack of accountability from their team. The problems began when they installed the wrong system. After noticing that our home wasn't cooling properly, they discovered the error and replaced the unit. However, the replacement was not properly tested, which led to more issues: the system was extremely loud, the fan ran continuously for days, and wires were left improperly connected. Most seriously, due to poor installation and a failed safety sensor, the system began to leak water. This leak caused extensive damage to ceilings on both floors of our home, with visible water stains in several rooms. Their only attempt to address the issue was to apply a bleach-and-water solution--a superficial and ineffective treatment. We were told full repairs and repainting would be scheduled, but those promises were never fulfilled. Eventually, the company stopped responding altogether--no follow-ups, no repairs, no accountability. Communication throughout the process was unacceptable. We had to repeatedly follow up, often reaching out to multiple people just to get basic updates or schedule service. Technicians were frequently late and had to return for repairs multiple times, causing us to miss several days of work. During one visit, they left the attic door open despite being asked to close it and left standing water on our shelving--further demonstrating a clear lack of care and respect for our home.This experience has resulted in financial loss, emotional stress, and countless wasted hours. What should have been a routine installation turned into a prolonged and costly ordeal--with no resolution and no responsibility taken. Based on our experience, we strongly do not recommend UBH Heating and Cooling. Their conduct has been unprofessional, careless, and completely unresponsive when problems arise. read more

We just had an old deck removed and a new one built by United Better Homes and it looks amazing. The crews that removed the deck were very hard workers and did an amazing job. The three man crew who built the new deck were true professionals. Very pleased with our beautiful new deck. These guys came to my home and tried talking me into committing insurance fraud. They told me my roof was in bad shape and they could put a claim in. I said that the damage was done over time and the girl said "oh i have a date of loss" This is completely illegal. When I told them I worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years they continued to argue with me when I said I would not put an insurance claim in. We used United Better Homes to install a new roof and solar panels and I can't say enough good things about this company!!! I was not in the market for solar (my husband was all for it) & to pacify him I had entertained a quote. I still was a "no" & thought his solar dreams were over. Then UBH put solar on our neighbor's house & wanted to talk to us about installing solar. I agreed and was SO glad that I did!!! Solar Steve from UBH came and thoroughly explained exactly how going solar works & both the benefits and the limitations of solar. He spent a lot of time with us & was so straightforward, honest & easy to understand. He answered all of my questions and pacified all of my concerns and when he left there was no pressure at all to commit. We thought about it and when Steve came back a week later with a quote we were both all in!!! Once our project began (within a couple of days) we felt like we became part of a family. I have never dealt with a company that had such great, constant communication & such friendly team members!! UBH did everything (setting up inspections, permits, etc)- it was so easy!!! They constantly kept us abreast of the progression of our project. I also could call them at any time of the day and someone from the team would answer or call me back with the answer to my question. Just talking to/dealing with this company was enough to have me recommend them to anyone 1000 times over! And then there was the work!!! Next level!!! The roofers arrived and worked tirelessly. It took them all day to do our roof due to the steep pitches. They worked nonstop and it came out absolutely beautiful. And then, when they left, they left not even a nail behind! If it weren't for our new flashy roof you would never even have known that they were there! Then a week later our solar was installed. Another outstanding, amazingly beautiful job!! The solar panels look so good (a big concern of mine). They are flat, thin and dark and actually look pretty sharp!! And again, as seems to be standard with this company, both the roof and solar installers were SO NICE!!! I am so happy that I gave UBH a chance. My husband & I are both super happy with our roof & solar project & would definitely recommend UBH to anyone! read more

They installed a clearly blue tinted door in an all white room and told us it was a white door. After installation they refused to fix the problem and just wanted to be paid... Leaving us with an unfinished project. This whole ordeal took months to setup and their communication was horrible. I wouldn't do business with them again. I purchased a old nursing home with a rock faced front it had so many issues I can't list them here but I knew I would need to do Something with it. I reached out to Eddie from united better homes for a quote. After getting 2 other quotes I decided united better homes was the best choice. This project was tricky as they had to build a curtain wall in front of the building, they ran in to some challenges but the original price did not change which I can respect. I also end up. UBH came to the rescue to replace a large palladium window that had been botched up and delayed by another contractor for more than two years. All of their employees were extremely knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. The quality of the work from Simon and his crew was superb who worked extra hours to get the job done on time. They were conscientious workers who were meticulous in cleaning up after they left for the day. The office staff (Omani Cruz) always responded quickly to questions and provided first-class customer service throughout the entire process. It is extremely difficult to hire responsible and credible contractors these days who also charge reasonable prices. Keeping their promises to show up when scheduled is a bonus that made this a very positive experience. UBH was a rare find and I commend them for a job well done. When the representative came to our house about 6 years ago, they really represented themselves as a quality company. Everything looked amazing when they finished, as my previous review stated, although the house was in disrepair so it was going to be an improvement. Fast forward to about 5 years ago, and the bay window leaks when it rains and forms puddles on the wood. We clean the gutters multiple times a year, because the leaf guards we paid for were never installed, nor did I receive a credit for them. A credit was issued to the company after the insulation installers pushed my outlet through the wall, but we never were credited for that. They insist money's are still owed them, although it was first paid off by my husband in payment plan with a person no longer there. I then, paid it myself, and provided proof from myself, the agency and then the attorney General office. Still denying me the tiny repairs I need to ensure water stays out from behind the siding. Think and research before contracting here. read more

First off, the first time i spoke with their office manager i was professionally greeted and they were very helpful and honest with all my questions. I had called a few places before hand, and non of them had the expertise and the piece of mind that i felt with United Better Homes. The whole process form picking out the right windows to installation of my windows was flawless and I was very impressed with overall Quality of all the people, I had the pleasure to meet. Had United Better Homes do the windows on our home. They came with a lifetime warranty. About a year later four of the panes were leaking the gas. We called the company and he told us he would order the replacement panes. Almost a year later and several calls later the panes were still not replaced. We were finally forced to call the manufacturer ourselves and order the replacements. The manufacturer is sending the panes and we will have them put in by someone else. Not a great follow up to installing a houseful of windows. Not recommended read more

My house was in dire need of renovations. I googled siding companies, and was directed to United Better Homes. I called, and they were happy to send someone out for a free estimate. By the end of the week, we were approved for financing on siding, blown insulation, windows,and gutters. I have never been more impressed with a company in my life. United Better Homes replaced 1 picture window and 5 skylights for us and guaranteed them for lifetime. The skylights had condensation since they were installed and 2 of them started leaking just a little over 1 year. United Better Homes was made aware of this issue and we requested that they resolve it. Multiple calls and emails went back and forth for a lengthy period of time, and they just stopped responding altogether. The issue was not resolved. We paid another company to repair the leaking, but still have the condensation issue. It's been over 1 year now so we could not get this issue resolved through the BBB. All we can do is submit a review. Needless to say their guarantee is no guarantee. read more

He didn't try to sell me "the best" or "you have to have this". He was knowledgable and courteous. United Better Homes installed windows in our home that have been leaking since they were in installed The company is aware of this issue and in the beginning they would come out with a tube of sealer and reseal ONE window, which did NOT resolve the problem. Obviously the windows were installed incorrectly, and repeated calls have been made to them and they do NOT respond back to us and have made no effort to resolve this issue! read more
