My invoice stated there should be four struts, but only two were installed--one at the top, one at the bottom, leaving the center unsupported. I contacted the company, and Chris, a partner, agreed that missing struts caused the crack in two panels. After discussions with the manufacturer, we settled on $300 for replacement panels, though I felt this was unfair given the original mistake. Despite this, I agreed and waited. After a month, I called back, spoke to the company president (who promised a callback), then a repairman returned and replaced the panels. When it came to pay, I was presented with an invoice for $400 instead of the agreed $300. The invoice listed $300 for parts and $100 for labor, though labor was never previously discussed with Chris. After some back-and-forth, I was told there would be no warranty on anything. I wrote a $300 check as promised. The repair person did quality work, but I was frustrated that I had to pay for correcting an original installation mistake. I expected the company to stand behind its work. They stand behind nothing and use unprofessional tactics to make you feel dirty every time they leave. Check the BBB rating.

Things got started on the wrong foot when I was describing my problem on the phone to Davis Taylor and he asked what brand of unit I had and when I told him it was a Gree, he told me it was a piece of shit. Now, if he thinks it's a piece of shit, fine. But it would make more sense to me if he kept that to himself. Not everyone wants or has the ability to buy top of the line stuff. It went pretty steadily downhill from there. Without anyone coming to the house yet, and adding in the surge suppressor he recommended , he gave me a price of $780 and seemed to think that I should be happy with such a great price. That seemed like a lot to me but I wanted my air fixed so decided to go ahead with it, hoping it would turn out to be a more minor fix than he was thinking. The technician that came out ( and I did appreciate the same day service ) was great! Jared was super nice and seemed very experienced. He pretty quickly determined what the problem was, which sadly was the main circuit board, the worst case scenario. We agreed that I would pay $180 that day and he would order the board and a surge suppressor for a total of $780. Ouch, but ok, I agreed and wrote him a check. Minutes after he leaves, David texts me to let me know that he has ordered the circuit board and will let me know when it arrives next week. About a minute after that he texts me to say he cancelled the order. When I asked why, he explained that it was because I did not pay the $780 up front and something about he has to send in warranty circuit boards for reimbursement which takes 8-10 weeks. I was not asked to pay the whole thing when Jarred was here and now, if I pay by credit card I have to pay an additional 3.5%. Anyway, enough with the minutia, it boils down to from the minute he called my unit a piece of shit throughout the rest of our conversation (mostly text) I felt like I was being treated unfairly, like he was gouging me at every opportunity. I told him that I had my own service business for years and I could not sleep at night if I treated my customers the way he was treating me. Really not looking out for his customers, just chasing every dime he can get. By the way, I did not get reasonable prices or personalized services AND there is no technician living in White Springs. False advertising for sure.
