One of your cab drivers hit my car #740. Got out to assess the damage and it was minimal so the police weren't called...however the attitude of the driver was horrible. Instead of being apologetic, he proceeded to downplay the situation and tell me it wasn't that bad (aka "it was only a scratch"). Scratch or not you still hit my car and you should take responsibility for that. You should really vet your drivers carefully; they do represent you. Based on the reviews you have here though it doesn't seem like you do. I already reported him for reckless driving to the company. We'll see if I get a response back. read more

Monday, May I was waiting for my wife to pick me up during a rain storm, in front of Menorah Manor in St. Pete today when this driver pulled up in front of the entrance and sat there waiting for someone to come out. I asked him to move from the front as my wife had just pulled up. At first he ignored me and then he rolled his window down just enough to say" A little rain won't hurt you" then he rolled it back up. I was holding a cane because of my bad ankle, but it apparently made no difference to this guy. So , yes I had to go in the pouring rain to my car. The driver did not care at all. SAFETY ALERT!!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE UNITED TAXIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I pushed the buzzer at the Tampa international airport there was already a taxi in the waiting area. Taxi 426- with United Cab on the side. I went to get in after my luggage was already in and there was no door handle. The car smelled awful and the windshield was cracked in 3 places- I was told it would be a minimum of $25 I explained I only lives 7 miles away he said that didn't matter. He drove me to my drop off location and instead of using the monitor on the back of the seat to pay this man pulled out his phone and charged me on that. I see the receipt shows Yellow Cab- Not United Taxi- When I called the number to confirm the legitimacy the guy laughed and said yes that our driver I said "safety" and "inspections" were words used while I was on hold and this taxi was not up to par. He then asked if I was an inspector and then said "Well did you take it?" I said I was going to go ahead and call the attorney general and this man said I was a snitch. DO NOT GET IN THE VEHICLE. If I could give less, I would. We were really iffy about getting the cab in the first place since the car looked like it has been in some accidents (dents and cracked windshield) but had a scheduled car rental 10 minutes from the airport. The driver drove terribly and purposely took us the wrong way which made a 10 minute drive a 30 minute ride, even after we told him we had the navigation up and he was going the wrong way. Once I told him we were going to call the company, he suddenly knew where he was going and took us to our destination. A lyft would've cost less but since he was there, said he could get is there quick, and thought a 10 minute ride wouldn't be bad, we went with him. We've traveled all over and have never experienced such treatment. Shame on you for trying to take advantage of people. I will be calling the company as well. read more

Didn't even use this cab company but had a terrible interaction with their company. Regarding Cab number 429. We merged over on the freeway, with plenty of space between our vehicles and he proceeded to tailgate our vehicle. Then he sped past our car, cut us off and slammed on his brakes. He then pulled onto the shoulder of the freeway to get back behind the vehicle just to speed past our car making sure we noticed him flipping us off. We felt compelled to call the company to file a complaint and after telling them the cab number, the gentleman hung up immediately. Do not trust this company. They don't care about the quality of their drivers or the way they drive. Sad that United has gotten bad reviews from other sources. I had three experiences with them while I was in Tampa this past weekend for the Outback Bowl. 1) La Quinta Airport to Whiskey Joe's. I called for a reservation, the dispatcher told me 10 - 15 minutes. I walked towards the lobby at the 10 minute mark, and the driver was waiting and calling me just as I arrived. Very friendly driver, though I wasn't exactly sure what his affiliation was. His card suggested that he had his own service, but maybe he contracts out or something to United. Whatever. Very friendly driver, courteous, couldn't ask for more. 2) Whiskey Joe's back to La Quinta. Dispatcher told me 5 - 20 minutes, and the driver came at the 20 minute mark. Didn't make as much small talk, but got us home safely and on time. To and from trips were both 9.65 each on the taxi meter. 3) La Quinta to Tampa Airport at 3:45 in the morning. See, I asked for 3:45 because sometimes cabs are late, and I really just needed to leave by 4:00. HOWEVER, at 3:35, I get a call from the front desk saying, "Your cab is here." Great on punctuality. The only gripe I would have is that it's a flat fee of 15 bucks, but at 3:45 in the morning, I'm not really going to put up a fuss like that. I would use them again if I was in Tampa. read more

I was the only one in my lane and even though I was aware of his, he made no attempt to see that I was in the lane he was merging into and when I noticed him merging into mine, I honked at him. This cab service makes regular pickups and drop offs at a dialysis center in Sun City. When trying to enter the building, I requested the driver not block the handicap ramp to the front of the building. His first response was that he would be quick. I explained that other patients could still be impacted, including me who was pushing a wheelchair. I told him by moving over a couple of feet he would allow others access to the building. Clearly he did not appreciate the feedback or suggestion. He was rude and nasty. I will not repeat his choice words with racial and sexist connotations. And he dared me to call the police on him. Wow! All because of a simple request in which he was clearly in the wrong. A call to there office assured me the manager would be notified, but I don't know if it was actually done. read more

After flying in past midnight, I walked out of the terminal only to see a United Cab sitting there. I verified with the driver first that he took credit card (as he loaded my suitcase into his trunk) to which he replied "YES". I then told him where I was going and he quickly reponded "no - cash only". I told him that I wasn't going to an ATM at this point so he can just take my stuff out and let me take another cab. He responded "Just get in the car". After 10-15 minutes of lecturing me on how I should have taken money out of the ATM and paid him instead of using my credit card while driving me to the hotel, he pulled up at the hotel check-in and asked me again "So what will it be?" I thought I made it perfectly clear - but I responded again "Credit Card". He rudely sighed and threw a tantrum while getting a credit card slip out and made me wait in the car while he got authorization for the transaction. After he handed me back my card - he popped open the trunk and told me "Go get your stuff". I have never in my life been treated in this way in a cab - and also at midnight - the last thing you would want to do (as a woman travelling) is to go and get money out of the ATM. I called their customer service to file a complaint and they told me someone would call me back the next day. Still waiting...... Apparently they don't care - given all the horrible reviews already posted. My hotel also doesn't recommend them because they've had horrible experiences as well. I needed a receipt. The driver put the charge through electronically, but his receipt printer was broken - and I had to fix it for him, but the charge had already been sent, so I got no receipt. Then, to get me a receipt he ran my card.... and bingo, now I have two charges. OK AMEX will sort it out, but this was unpleasant and a time waster for me. Make sure they turn the meter on. Here is my Experience.. I arrived at the Tampa Airport and walked to the Taxi area. The guy on the sidewalk said "where are you going" I told him The address on Bayshore. (about 1.4 miles). He called a cab, I got in and told the driver where I was going and he started yelling, yes yelling, "Why didn't he tell you they had a shuttle?" i told him I was not sure but I was happy to get out of his taxi. He then stopped the car, put the window down and yelled at the guy on the sidewalk. (I'm feeling really uncomfortable by this time). Then the Driver started pulling away and said "I could have had a 20 dollar fare instead of this one". I repeated that I was happy to get out of his cab and use the shuttle. He then floored it while continuing to complain. ( Now I was slightly terrified). I did not realize that he did not turn on his meter. Somehow the 1.4 miles at 10:30 at night with no traffic was an 18.00 fair. Then he tried to make me use cash. I THINK NOT. I am sure that I will never get into another United Cab in Tampa. read more

Wife and i took a vacation to Treasure Island when we flew in we grabbed the first cab we saw our driver Jermaine was unbelievably curteous and helpful. I have waited almost 3 weeks to post this so that I would be calm when I did. On January 27, 2020: 5:25pm - I was told that my normally reliable vehicle was not available to bring me home. I get off work at 5:30pm. I called United Cab Company 813 777-7777. They took my first name and pickup address, and told me to call them back in 20 minutes if the cab did not show. 5:30pm - I get off work. 5:51pm - I called United Cab Company because no one picked me up. Dispatcher claims that my cab is 16 minutes away. 6:06pm - Sun goes down. 6:16pm - I have been under an awning but with rain getting flung under that awning by wind since 6:00pm, I am feeling miserable. I called United Cab Company because no one has yet picked me up. Dispatcher takes dismissive tone with me for my being upset, and claims that the cab is 8 minutes away. I feel lied to due to mismatch in times claimed and actual time elapsed. Additionally, dispatcher attempts to make me back-off/feel bad/pity for cab driver and shift guilt onto me. Dispatcher then angrily asks me why I called "so many times". Still no cab. 6:43pm - I called a different cab company and interacted with their Automated dispatching service. 6:55pm - I called a friend 7:09pm - I was picked up by friend. Still, No cab. 7:16pm - New cab company's automated system called me to find out if I wanted to continue waiting for the cab or cancel the service. I canceled the service. My mother in law goes to silver sneakers through Humana and they use the worst company in the world, UnitedCab company. He showed and she waved to let him know that she saw him. Well he took off before she could get her purse. She called and was told the next cab would get her in 20 minutes. Same BS each time we called until she completely missed her appointment. I called and got the lease compassionate person ever. No customer skills what so ever. She could have cared less about what was going on. She was a complete failure to do anything. they don't even warrant 1 star, this company is unprofessional and liars. Their workers are trained to lie, especially when it comes to Medicaid riders. They will "send back" the orders when the ride isn't lengthy enough or they will tell the insurance company that the ride is a "No show" even though, they are the ones who do not show. On several occasions my son has been picked up anywhere from 2 -4 hours late! This company is comfortable with robbing the government because there is no accountability.
