While the door construction was fine, I encountered several issues that made the process frustrating. First, I noticed that the right-hand and left-hand swing door I saw on the show room floor, despite having the same product number, had different colors and subtle style differences than the one I received from my online order. This color and style inconsistency was not mentioned in the product description or by the in-store staff. To find a door that matched the color of the left-hand swing display model, I had to visit three different Home Depot stores. Additionally, the product description and in-store guidance didn't mention the need for a jamb extension kit, which I later discovered was essential for my installation. The kit was only available online with a shipping cost ($79) that exceeded the price of the kit itself ($73.86) and could not be shipped to the store for pickup which should have eliminated the shipping cost. It took 3 to 4 days to arrive at my home. The kit as advertised said it came with a mill and bronze sill. The kit I received didn't match the description--it only included a 'mill' sill, not the 'bronze' sill as advertised and on the box it came in. Home Depot did not have the door jamb in their stores in my area. I can't be certain, but I don't think they stock it in any of their stores and it's only available on line. The store manager was helpful but also struggled to resolve the issue with the supplier. I hope Home Depot can improve transparency about additional required parts, ensure product consistency, stock additional part needed to complete projects in their store and provide accurate descriptions of their products. First Choice was able to provide a reasonable, affordable option for better quality windows. They were less costly than so many window companies but able to provide the benefits in windows we were looking for in a great quality. Changing over from aluminum windows to vinyl windows we had concerns about some of the changes in thickness, but the team did a great job and properly installing without them impacting the look, inside or out. They look so much better than before and we love the different options in grid choices! The install team worked well as a team and did a phenomenal job, cleaning up well before they left. He walked us through everything -- tempered glass, the silver oxide they spray on panel 2, all of it. He even FaceTimed a young lady (Sorry, am terrible with names) who showed us this big picture window with panels that slide on both sides. My wife and I had questions and every single one got a straight answer. Here's my favorite part though. Multiple times during the visit, Ingemar would look around and just go, "Yep, you need windows." I think he said it 3 or 4 times. I laughed every time. Every. Time. After we signed the contract he mentioned Window World also does siding and soffit. Which we're gonna need. Sneaky. I respect it. Now here's something the sales manager is gonna want to hear.
