If you read no further on this review, at least read this: check their BBB and Angie's List reviews! There are repeat patterns with this company. They say one thing and then try to take it back or change their words later.  We went to their showroom to buy a spa in September 2023. Nadine, an owner, showed us a number of spas and really sold us on a refurbished spa. She told us all of the internal workings of the spa had been replaced, so aside from the tub and frame itself, the spa was virtually new. She also explained that their refurbished spas come with the same warranty as their new spas. She explained that they are so confident in their work refurbishing the spas that they can offer a warranty like that. She said she had been in business for 30+ years and no matter what will always take care of her clients.  We fell for it. Upon delivery of the spa, the delivery guy was the rudest person I've ever encountered. They drug the spa over my sprinkler drip system and I saw it leaking. I couldn't be sure if he caused damage or not, so I wasn't comfortable signing his form that stated there was no property damage until I inspected the sprinkler system. The delivery guy became irate, literally screaming at me in my own backyard. Ultimately I signed the form but put notes that I was being forced to sign prior to inspecting my property. At that same time, I was given another form to sign regarding the "refurbished spa warranty" which was only ONE YEAR. This was absolutely not what was discussed and we would have never chosen a refurbished tub if this was the case. In hindsight, this is a common tactic that Nadine/United uses to bait and switch clients. I called Nadine to no avail, so my husband called her and she finally decided to offer a 2 year warranty but continued to let us know she's been in business for over 30 years and would have never told us the wrong information.  During delivery, Tim, the other owner, installed the tub cover and cover arm. Upon using the tub for the first time, the spa cover arm gave out and the massively heavy cover came falling down toward my husband's head. I screamed and he was able to put up his hand in time to save his skull, but the weight caused a wrist strain. Nadine sent someone out to reinstall the cover, who told us it was installed incorrectly the first time. We really could have made a scene at that time, as they've now caused bodily harm to us with their carelessness. But we let it all go, hoping we wouldn't have to interact with them anymore.  Fast forward 6 short months, and our spa won't reach temperature. It won't go above 97 degrees or so. Believing that we were under warranty, we called United to schedule a repair. That's when we were told the warranty does not cover labor and we'd have to pay a $299 fee just for them to come out. After some push back from us, they agreed to do it for $199. They even took the time to text message us afterward to let us know that if we hire another company they will not take their word for it and we'd still have to pay them the $199 to diagnose themselves in order to get the part under warranty. At this point, I'd rather pay a different company $500 to come out than give Nadine and United Spa another dime. I called around to a number of spa repair places and were always told the same thing- they hear these United horror stories often. By the way, not a single other spa company I spoke to (and I called 7) charges more than $125 to come out, and we don't even have a "warranty" with them. I ended up hiring another company and they came out and said the heater element was old and bad. Heater elements typically last around 10 years. It wasn't shocking to hear that, and after looking inside the tub it is clear that most of the internals, in fact, are NOT replaced/new.   All in all, United Spa is an extremely deceitful company that will lie straight to your face and then try to make you feel like you misunderstood because "they've been in business over 30 years." They also sell old, breaking down items under the ruse of "refurbished" and then try to charge an arm and a leg to come diagnose the issue. STAY FAR AWAY! You're better off buying an old spa on Craigslist. read more

We went to the home show just to look around and to look at outdoor kitchen setups. We skillfully avoided the meat guy who wanted us to purchase $1,500 of meats and possibly a new freezer by heading to the hot tubs where we met Tim & Nadine and their new baby cat. The floor models they were selling were the right price for us to pull the trigger and thus delay the outdoor kitchen to another time. We walked around a bit, but came back quickly to sign on the dotted line. Delivery came as promised and the delivery guys were helpful and professional. They got the spa set up quickly and then went through everything we needed to know. They were patient and were fine with all the questions I asked. We have only had it for about a week, but we are extremely happy with the entire process. We were looking to replace our old spa, so we took a trip down to Salida to look for a new spa to replace it. We ended up at the showroom for United Spa Manufacturing, we didn't have an appointment but they said we could come in a take a look before their next appointment. Tim walked us through the showroom talked about their spas and how they manufactured them. Tim and Courtney made us fill at home and answered all our questions. We ended up purchasing a new spa from them that was more solid than our old one. They were able to have our new spa delivered to use the next week. Joe and Mike delivered our spa that next week. They took the old spa out and set our new spa up. They walked us through all we needed to know about and how to use our new spa! I am so happy with the hot tub I bought from United Spas in Salida, CA, a year ago. My brother and I did not know that good hot tubs run in excess of $20,000! Our budget was less than half of that, so we could not afford the prices retail hot tub stores were charging. But we happened upon an ad for United Spas and visited their showroom. They manufacture spas that the sell to retail stores, but they also sell re-furbished spas at a fraction of the cost of new ones. I needed to get a new cover for my hot tub since the old one was many years old and rotting. I was super impressed with United Spas response. They had the unit in stock, in a few colors, and they delivered and installed it the next day. They also took the old one away which was a nice bonus. Don't get tempted by "cheaper" online hot tub covers -- they take much longer to deliver (months usually!) and you can't be sure what you're getting. United Spas had exactly what I needed. We saw the ad for United Spas on Craigslist and decided to take the drive out to Salida to take a look at the floor models. They were having a sale on Swim Spas. Because of space constraints in our backyard, we felt a swim spa was the best option. The Swim Spa was delivered today and it looks awesome. The crane arrived early and was ready to go when the spa showed up. They lifted the spa over the house and got it situated perfectly on the pad. It was nerve wracking to watch, but they did a great job. They hooked up the electrical and once I finished filling it, it worked perfectly. I was extremely happy with the service and professionalism of the team. The only challenge was that due to Covid-19, they were extremely busy and it took a little longer to get a response from them and to schedule our delivery. They always returned my calls though. We've got a summer of fun ahead of us! Update... We ended up having a few leaks in the spa. I'm not sure if it wasn't tested thoroughly prior to shipping or if the hoses loosened up during travel. Either way, it was kind of disappointing to see water leaking out of our new swim spa. It took me a while to get through to the folks at United Spas. They did not return my message and I had to keep calling until I got through to someone. Once I got a hold of them, they came out to repair it the following week under warranty. I am hopeful that now it's fixed and we don't have any other issues in the future, but it was a bit frustrating to spend so much money on a swim spa and see it leaking. I have owned a United Spas Hot tub for 6 1/2 years and it is still going strong! I use it almost every day. I consider it more health care than entertainment, though it is fun to have, as well. Luckily, I have not needed any servicing yet. I do keep the filters clean and check the water often. Recently, I updated my home wifi and needed to reset my spa's wifi controller. I called in and was helped in such a speedy and friendly manner. A technician got on the phone and walked me through the update process. After 6 1/2 years, my spa is running like new!
