this place is not deserve even one star. The teller lady is always take her sweet time making lot of small talks regarding many people wanting in line. She doesn't care to do her job faster. They're often close for lunch in the hour that they're supposed to be working. Today I arrived at 1130 am to send my package it's closed again only a sign left " close for lunch be back by 2 pm" WTF.! who needs two hours lunch?! She was NOT busy because I could hear her TALK in the back. Only reason I stayed is because I really needed to send my package. Post office is SUPPOSE to open at 9, however I waited until 9:12 and the teller had still not shown up. Someone from the back office (a guy) tried to assist me but unfortunately he could not (no blame to him, he showed up on time for HIS JOB). The teller however did not. If doors open at 9, it's in everyone's best interest for you to be there by 8:45. If you aim for 8:45 and are running a little behind, you still have a good chance of being on time. But If you aim for 9, and end up running a little behind, then you're late! Her coworker said something about her being late sometimes, so this is obviously not her first time and probably won't be her last. I'm a firm believer that whether you are a CEO or a post office worker, you should take pride in your work and your work ethic. Being habitually late is not a good look,but easily fixable. Update - I came back at 10:40am only to find a line of 3 people waiting to be serviced. No one was at the counter (I assumed she was in the back handling things). Nope, 5 minutes later she walks into the store with a McDonalds bag!!! So she not only came to work late but decided to treat herself to an impromptu brunch break!! I have been using this post office since 2016. At that time it was sufficient. However, as of late 2023 up until today, this post office is not user friendly to the businesses in Galleria Tower II. I just returned from there wanting to mail to items that needed the teller to weigh and me pay, however, it was 1:58 pm and she said I would need to come back that she's taking lunch. from 2 pm to 3:05 pm. I was not aware that any post office closed for lunch. This is not the first time that I've taken mail to the post office for additional service and she was closed for lunch. Some times it says she will return at 3:45... and then if you go back down there, the line is 10 deep. Something should be done to right the ship. I've been frusturated so many times, that I almost hope I never need to go back down there. She can be friendly, but many times she's rude to people who do not know exactly what they are doing when trying to mail a package that's out of the ordinary. Please look into this situtation. Absolutely useless. The hours advertised are 9am-5pm, the paper signs let you know that they're actually only open from 11am-5pm. However - this is a complete lie. No one will be there to help you until 1pm, and then they take an hour lunch break from 2-3pm. If you're lucky, you might be able to catch them for the 3 hours that they're actually there. Seriously ridiculous and an accurate disgrace of our US government services. As i work in the Galleria, i can attest to the fact that this is a common occurrence. Would give no stars if possible. I'm a teacher and get off late. This is the only location that I could go to to just mail my pre postage's package at. Got here at 5:20 and tried to just drop it in the box which was already locked. I could hear the lady in the back scanning packages so I rang the bell and she didn't answer. Rang it again and she went "GO AWAY!". I kindly said "I just need to drop this in the box please to be shipped tomorrow, it's already labeled. She said "you're gonna have to come back tomorrow, were closed!"...they don't close until 8pm. So now I just wasted my time driving all the way to the galleria for nothing. read more

This post office is no longer friendly, I come here when I am in the Galleria and because its convenient but the staff here are so unpleasant I would rather go elsewhere even at hassle. I waited 10 minutes to drop off prepaid packages and then when it was my turn the woman behind the counter saw someone literally walk in behind me as I was on the counter, she told me to wait so she could attend to them first. How rude! I waited patiently in line and never said a thing and you let someone cut in front of me. She said she wanted to see what the other person had but they had prepaid packages too- they asked for a receipt and she happily obliged. I only had 3 small packages, all weighed accurately with prepaid labels-- I mail all the time and Ive never had an issue with my labels- the woman behind the counter still gave me a hard time, saying she would have to "double check them". I am baffled by how rude she was since this was my first time seeing her and I hadnt said a word while she gossiped with the person in front of me. read more

I loathe going to the post office. And the Galleria, so on this particular day I wasn't in the best mood. When I got in line, the line was out the door (there was four or five people ahead of me. This is a small post office and there was only one girl working the counter) It was lunch time, so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised by the line. When I get to the counter I was pleasantly surprised with the helpfulness of the lady working. I needed baby shower stamps, and she showed me all the options she thought would be good for a baby shower invitation. I also needed some big mailing envelopes. She explained the differences between two of the options, and then went in the back to find me a shopping bag that someone had left that was large enough to hold them. She was friendly and in such a great mood, she actually put me in a good mood. Probably my best post office experience ever. I wish I knew her name, because she really deserves recognition for staying so upbeat and positive. read more

This review is not a reflection upon the teller--she was nice. It's just that she was the ONLY 1 servicing a line of 8 people and it wasn't even around lunch time (late afternoon). This post office is reachable from the Williams Tower so a lot of people working there and having to use this post office for business--they have a lot of mail to send out and this place gets busy with 1 teller and each person sending out official business items that need attention more than just dropping it off to send out. True hit or miss--but I wouldn't use this as my main post office. Note: located on same floor as food court but on the other side..allll the way to the other side. read more

This post office, which is conveniently located at the rink level of the Houston Galleria, doesn't have an automatic postal machine. Thus, I recently spent 20 minutes here waiting to buy stamps, when I could have zipped in and out if they had a machine. Please - add a machine! The sign telling us that there are machines a couple of miles away is not overly useful. read more

The Post office at 5015 Westhiemer road is not a stand alone post office it's buried deep within the Galleria mall and you must use the Galleria parking garages which have no actual available parking. Never made it to the Post office couldn't find a place to park. read more

This post office opened one hour after posted hours. I got there at 8 am on my way to work, which was the opening time posted on doors and online. The staff started causally strolling in at 8:45 and even though there was an impatient line waiting of about 9-12 of us, the doors opened at 10. There was only one cashier, the other person proceeded to set up, you'd think both staff members would open both registers to get waiting customers out since we were waiting for an hour. For several years this was my main post office, primarily serving the mall and the financial towers. Located at the rink level, you can expect none of the long lines or poor service that many branches feature. In fact, I found it was often less of a hassle to quickly park in the Galleria and drop off my mail and packages than to wait in line for half an hour in other closer locations. read more

I just lost my package with another USPS location. Made me recall the experience I had with this store. I was trying to mail a package overseas and was already prepared to be treated like sh*t just like what it was with another branch. However, It was beyond my calculation that how helpful and efficient the lady who was working at the front was. There were approximately 5 or 6 ppl waiting in line and only one lady working. But it didn't take long for me to get helped. I had mailed the same thing before to the same address with another branch and it cost me around $100. I had the money and form ready when it's my turn. Just as usual, the lady asked me what it was in the box and was clicking on the computer at the same time. At first she told me the same price as I was expecting and I was ready to pay. However, she then said gimme one second, let me see what happens if I put the category in. Guess what, the price then changed to $78! And then I realized that I've been paying the high price just because the previous branch didn't want to help me! I'm so glad that I've visited this location.
