Let's face it, these teams (and if you've ever seen how people address the mail!!!). You have to call in the postal inspection service just to determine where a letter is going. All I hear is UPS this and FedEx that! I deal with lots of "friends" that deal with lots of mail. As of today UPS is "trading at $112" and has a market value of $96,460,000 DOLLARS . Like I told "the postmaster". The USPS does in 3 days what it takes UPS ALL YEAR LONG to accomplish. So if you want to have faith in your country and veterans, use the postal service. Technically they provide x the service of UPS (and would be VALUED BY WALL STREET 100x more than UPS). Most calculators can't even display the value, but it crushes the Dow 3x over!!! As a matter of fact, ANYBODY can do ANYTHING if given enough time. But these dedicated souls are put to "the test" everyday. My pal that lays the fiber for the Internet in this city told me "to hell with FedEx" -they lost an overnight part we needed and delayed the infrastructure of our project by 2 weeks!!! And what FedEx take A YEAR TO DO (drinking Margaritas on the beach & acting in movies like "castaway", the UNITED STATES POST OFFICE gets accomplished in less than a day. So appreciate your postal carrier, keep your dog locked up, reward your carrier the best you can! (If you are INTO yoga & Pilates, don't even try to keep up walking with them, as they are trained to function with reduced oxygen at the top of Everest and they will embarrass an Argentinian soccer team. Just look at the size of their legs and be warned that one would rather be "kicked" by a Budweiser Clydesdale at a Mardi Gras parade! Many carriers have spent time in the "Hanoi Hilton", locked in a hole inside Bangladesh just for being labeled as an American (hence they usually are lacking in tattoos and are forced to bottle up that anger). So please FORGIVE your dedicated carriers that would be rescuing the animals burning alive while our fire department sits back and volunteers. It is very "small town"…read more I heard that this tiny post office is here because there are two major court houses two blocks away (24th Judicial District Court and 5th Circuit Court of Appeal). It is not listed in most places, hard to find even on Google. It is the smallest PO I've ever been in, there is only one little counter and parking is just a small strip on the left side of the street. The right side is pay-to-park. Usually it's not bad though. *Note: the address is 3rd St. but the entrance is on Huey P Long Ave. because it is on a corner. The clerks are always very nice and helpful, one time I had a package, the window gate/cage was down and I knocked on the door and the lady came out and took my package. It made my day!!!!! I scheduled an appointment online for notary services at this location. My appointment was for 9am…read moreand I arrived at 8:55 am only to be told by the attendant that the worker doing notary services would not be in until 9:30 am. I waited in my car for about 20 minutes and saw another attendant walk in who I thought was the worker doing notary services. I went back inside and that worker informed me that actually the notary would not be in until 10:45 am. I am extremely upset with this. I scheduled my appointment online over 12 hours in advance and to arrive and find out that the notary would not show up until 1 hour 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Why have an online appointment schedule if it will not be honored. Extremely unprofessional. They mentioned that the online system was not notifying the notary however that is not an issue or error that the customer has to mitigate. There was another elderly couple who came in for notary around the same time as well and they called ahead and were told 9:30 am. They mentioned how hard it was for them to get around so this was extremely inconvenient for them.
